My experience with Dr. Ephraim was 5-stars across the board! He was timely, there was never any waiting, and it was overall an extremely pleasant, easy process. There was no puff of air (argh! thank goodness), yet he had technology that I've never had used on me from other places that was able to show detailed digital images of my eyes and its cones, etc. He prioritized both the health aspect of my eyes as well as the accuracy and optimization of the prescription which was exactly what I was hoping for. There was no pressure to buy glasses or contacts from them, which I appreciated. Dr. Ephraim was also super-personable and funny, and his staff was efficient and professional. I paid out of pocket because I didn't like the experience I had elsewhere, and it was worth it, but he does take multiple vision insurance providers. Note: I did originally have trouble connecting with them for an appointment and didn't get an answer the first couple times. I called a bit earlier and that helped to finally connect.

I'm always a bit nervous visiting new optometrists or dentists because I've had negative experiences with being pressured or upsold. Not so here. It was a very pleasant and straightforward visit. I had a very thorough exam, and the fees were clearly explained to me with no pressure tactics. Dr. Zhang was very professional and friendly, as was the staff. I paid over$500 for a pair of glasses that I thought were high quality and would last. A few weeks…read morelater the nose pad broke. I went to the store in Wheaton. They replaced the nose pad with a cheap plastic version. I paid for them to order the nose pads that matched the frames. I noticed a small scratch on the lens later. They said the new nose pads would be there in 5-7 business days, and they would call. It's been over six weeks so I called. Got put on hold. Someone said they'd call but no information on when. I'm hoping that when I do get the proper nose pads, they can pop out the lenses rather than break them. They did inform me that if they did, that would be my problem. After I paid, I asked if vision screen test monitoring was used in place of dialation and was told it was not -- even after I asked optomitrist Toldedo Espiett about my eye health and was told all looked good. I asked if I could pay for the dilation test at that point and was told that I could not and that a whole other eye exam woud be needed all over again for another $159 in order to get screen dilation test. So am going elsewhere now and forever. This is dishonesty and highway robbery on the part of the optomitrist and on the part of Lenscrafters for choosing people that operate this way. I Will never ever go to any Lenscrafters again and advise not to use them!!!!

If you break it down, it's cheaper than buying four bags of Reese's peanut butter cups that are under a pound. To make up for my indiscretion I also bought my dog a bag of dog treats, and I bought some healthy micro greens. It was super busy being two days before the holiday but I like how they come by and scan your card so when you get to the register, you show them your card and you're ready to go.

So I give 5 stars to Costco but probably 1-2 stars to the Tire center…read more If you're considering getting tires here, please search the reviews for "Tires" and see it is mostly 1 star reviews. That surprised me, because I specifically got my tires from Costco since I assumed the tire service would be as stellar as other parts of Costco (reliable, high-quality, good value). My tire installation took a while, they are busy, but my main issue comes later. The price seemed quite good and I like they use nitrogen. About 10 months after installing my tires, I had one tire have its sidewall damaged. I was alerted to this by TPMS during a road trip with family - not ideal time to have tire trouble. I drive a lot around DC for 10+ years, I've never had tire trouble, but I can't say if the fault was with the tire quality or if I just had bad luck with a pot hole or something. I had an expert help me put the spare on, and they noted that one of the lug nuts was crossthreaded, meaning the lug nut had likely been installed crooked or forced onto the stud during a prior wheel installation. That made it very difficult to get off the tire, and in fact the lug stud broke off while trying to get on the spare. Because the stud was damaged, I had to deal not only with the tire replacement but also a separate wheel-stud repair issue, which was costly. I called the tire center, they asked if I had brake pad work or something like since installation, and I had so I got off the phone. But I looked at my records and I only had rear brake pad work done which wouldn't involve the front tire being taken off and put back on, I believe (but obviously can't prove with certainty) that Costco was responsible for the lugnut cross threading. I write all this just in case anyone else has a lug nut issue like I did. I will get my tires from somewhere else in the future.
