I was told I should complete the patient form online and bring it to my appointment. This morning, on the day of my appointment, I received a text message an hour before my appointment instructing me to wait in my car when I arrived and to call the office. Erika answered my call and said I could come in and to knock when I was at the office. She brought me back to do the initial intake and and the pre-exam tests. I have major anxiety when it comes to the air puff test for glaucoma. She was patient as I had a hard time keeping my eyes open as I always blink like crazy. I asked if it was ok if I lifted my lids to keep them open. That seemed to work. At one point, I actually let out a faint scream because I was startled. Once we were done with the pre-exam she brought me to a room to wait for Dr. Vicky Wong. Dr. Wong was very thorough in explaining what she was doing during the exam, the test results, and with her recommendation since I mentioned that my eyes have been irritated and dry. She suggested that I look away from my monitor during the workday every 30 minutes and to blink. She also gave me a prescription for Xiidra eye drops to use for six months which should help to produce real tears. I was offered a sample and discount card. Note: Allied Pharmacy is conveniently located on the same floor of the building. I had to schedule another appointment to come back to have my pupils dilated to finish the eye exam as I wouldn't be able to see very well for two hours afterwards and I had to go into the office today. When we were done, Kim Barnhouse, the Office Manager, assisted with the payment and scheduling my next appointment. When I got home, I noticed that my state of residency on my receipt and prescription reflected MA and not MD, so I immediately called the office and Kim corrected them both, had the prescription encrypted, and emailed both files to me. If I had any issues with receiving them, she offered to fax or mail them. Sharon Pollack assisted with adjusting a pair of sunglasses I have as the frame had gotten loose. She suggested if I leave them in the car that I shouldn't because they can get warped. She said I could come back any time to have them tightened. I can't say enough good things about the staff in the office. They are an all-star team and the epitome of customer service. I have never experienced this level of service before from ALL the office staff. Everyone is professional, personable, and helpful. I am certainly going to recommend them to anyone who asks. This will be my long-term optometry office from this point forward.

For years I went to a locally owned eyewear boutique, but after Covid, the shop was sold and their inventory was no longer unique or the high-quality of the previous owners. So I was on the hunt for a new place to purchase eyewear. I had already gone to several places in Washington DC and Northern Virginia and found that while some of the places had wonderful eyewear, they did not accept insurance and my out of network benefits would make purchasing eyewear a $4000 endeavor. Again because I am picky and have a penchant for I wear that is not mass produced. Add to that, I was also searching for an optical shop, where I would feel confident that my eyewear fit me properly, that the lenses were high-quality, and the person helping me select frames understood their inventory and had expertise in what they were offering. Enter Raul and all of the staff at Eyes on Norbeck! Upon walking in, you are created warmly and feel very comfortable. The shop has excellent lighting on the inside and nice big windows which bring in natural light. This is a big deal because lighting matters a lot when it comes to vision as well as the look and feel of eyewear. Immediately I knew I was in a place that cared a lot about vision. The selection of frames are unique and designer, yet reasonably priced. If I were to guess why they're pricing is so much more reasonable it would be because they maintain a regular clientele who are not only repeat customers, but bring in friends and family who also become regular clientele. Such was the case with me. One of my friends recommended the shop to me and I am so glad she did. Upon arrival, Raul gave my friend a big hug and he welcomed to me warmly as well. I explained what I was looking for and provided my prescription. Raul asked clarifying questions and made honest recommendations which included knowledgeable feedback on the frames and the fit. I had not made an appointment as I wasn't getting my eyes examined so I fully expected Raul to either take limited time with me or suggest I make an appointment and come back. I was wrong on both accounts Raul immediately, but without rushing, brought me around the store and we selected a few frames together. His expertise helped me not to feel overwhelmed and he very patiently, with a great sense of humor, brought me to making a decision on my eyewear that I feel 100% met my needs. Having worn glasses for over 30 years, and visited many places that sell eyewear, Eyes on Norbeck, and of course Raul, are a 5 star experience!

After not being satisfied at that location I returned to Wink because the care I got in 2022 was so good it was worth paying out of pocket. I could not believe that 3 years later Dr. Cohn remembered me and picked up our conversation from my first appointment. That level of personalization has solidified that Wink is my permanent eyecare boutique. My eye appointment was so quick and efficient because Wink has the best technology. They can scan your eyes and tweak your prescription in record time. What first put Wink on my radar was the brands of frames they carry. Specifically, I have always wanted a pair of Lindberg glasses. Wink made my eyeglass dreams come true! There was a Lindberg frame I was interested in but they did not have the color I wanted in the store. They placed a special order for me so I can try on the glasses in the color I was hoping would work before I committed to purchasing. The glasses came in, and the rest is history. I walked into Village Wye Center and found a pair I loved within 10 minutes. I was able to order the lenses in the custom colors I wanted. I got magnetic clip on sunglass lenses for them and a second set of clip on made especially for migraines. After picking up my glasses I walked around for weeks saying randomly to people that I loved my new glasses lol. I still feel this way. Recently I had to change my prescription. They were happy to help me do this, and even fixed a tiny bit of damage I had caused after dropping them. They were ready faster than predicted and they're perfect. I love this store.
