Several days later he arrived with his crew and got busy with the issues we discussed. Our rear yard is not accessible with equipment so it was a hands on project. So far, so good. The problem began when they decided it was necessary to use a truck and rope to help pull a large tree trunk down so it could be sawn into smaller pieces. To be fair, the work we agreed on was completed as expected and done in an afternoon. Here's where I have a problem. When they used the truck to pull on the trunk, they did so from our NEIGHBORS front yard without my knowledge and without permission from anybody. The result was large, deep ruts and obvious tire tracks on the lawn. I pointed out the damage and he promised to repair the damage to its ORIGINAL condition: level surface, seeded and straw. What we got was a few little bags of topsoil which didn't put a dent in the damage. After several texts to him, he kept promising me he would have it completed "the next day " which obviously never came. SO, now I'M stuck with the repair and cost to make the neighbors whole again. (Through no fault of my own) Cory and his crew are nice guys and I might use them again but just beware to check carefully before he leaves. Guess I better get busy.....

Additionally, Mr. Burchett was $1050 over budget per our initial contract ($5250 was paid in total for a job 45% complete). Mr. Burchett and his team had an overall lack of respect for my home/jobsite. Burchett Brothers left water bottles, cigarette butts, food containers, trash, and beer bottles all over my property and garage. They used my garage as their personal storage unit for their tools, trash and supplies for 7 weeks. Additionally, co-owner Mr. Jon Burchett consistently asked for advances in payment for labor and stated, "he had some bills come up". Burchett Brothers removed the gutters from my home 7 weeks ago which were not replaced causing my basement to flood. Additionally, their lack of diligence for cleaning the job site caused a nail to puncture a tire on my vehicle while pulling into my driveway ($400 tire replacement required), finally my daughter tripped and cut her leg on a gutter spike that was left in the yard. After termination Mr. Burchett harassed me through text on October 7, 2022, from 830pm-930pm saying things like "now I'm going to show you what its like to play with fire" and "you made your bed now you're going to lay in it". I refused to respond to any of his messages. I'm currently in the process of having the gutters and other work completed on my home by another company and costing me an additional $1700. I have pictures of the above messages, state of jobsite conditions, along with the incomplete contracted work and proof of payment for incomplete work and materials. Mr. Burchett refused to show me receipts for materials purchased and returned by Mr. Burchett and his brother. Burchett Brothers is the worst company I have ever hired and would caution anyone who contracts/hires them to perform any type of work at their home.

The price was fair and we had gotten scheduled. They had been in the area and were able to complete the job earlier than scheduled. Josh was the on site lead, had confirmed the scope of the project and had done an amazing job along with their clean up crew. Would definitely use them again for any of our tree needs.

Recent weather put a large limb of an overly tall locust tree in our yard on the roof of the…read moregarage. Other limbs were dangerous for the next door business. So we called C&S again. Corey, Caleb and Greg showed up and turned to on removing the locust and another maple next to it. Took 'em about six hours all told. They got the trees down to trunk stumps very quickly without much effect on the business next door. Very respectful and courteous crew, as they always have been when C&S has done work for us (many trees over the years.) Cleaned up all the detritus, swept up the driveway and the business parking lot, left us some burning timber for the fireplace and a huge pile of ground up stump at our request. We have always been satisfied and amazed at the ability of the C&S crews to get thru the day with minimal interference in our lives and no damage to themselves or any adjacent property. Someone's said it's like choreography. We agree. A five star outfit with five star crews.
