This childcare facility is not accredited and is very costly. The staff is friendly but seems over worked.

As a single mom with long workdays, finding quality childcare for my son was one of the hardest…read morechallenges I faced. When he was just one year old, the daily struggle of getting him ready and dealing with the rigid schedules of mainstream daycare centers like KinderCare was exhausting for both of us. He was unhappy, and so was I--until I found Rainbow Children's Center In-Home. From the moment we joined, Taran created an amazing, nurturing home environment. She understood the realities of being a working parent and allowed me to bring my son in his pajamas when he was too sleepy in the mornings. The extra love, patience, and dedication she provided were more than just childcare--they were family. To this day, I still call her my "baby daddy" because of the incredible role she played in our lives. Now, my son is 13, and our families have grown together. Taran continues to be a part of his life, always providing a safe and loving space. Any parent would be truly lucky to have their child in her care. Unlike mainstream daycare centers, which often feel impersonal and unreliable, Rainbow Children's Center In-Home ensures that every child feels secure, happy, and cared for. My best advice to any parent searching for childcare: Pay attention to how your child feels when you pick them up. If they are smiling and relaxed, you know you've found the right place. Without a doubt, Rainbow Children's Center In-Home is the best childcare in Lake Ridge, Virginia. We love Tay Tay and will always be grateful for the love and support she has given our family!

My husband and I were not only worried about the transition to a new state, but also transitioning our little one from a new daycare program. Luckily, those worries were quickly remedied when we saw the love and compassion the Chesterbrook leadership and staff have for the children. My daughter absolutely loves her teachers and the leaders there - Kristen, Lina, Venice, Nai'Kaila and Abhi have made her feel loved, special and safe every single day. Even more, she has come so far from an education and social standpoint. At 3 yrs old she is funny and confident, knows her ABCs, can count from 1-30 in English and Spanish, her shapes and so much more. I will never be able to thank these wonderful people enough!!!

I cannot express how grateful I am for the care and attention he receives there. He has learned so much since he started, including getting a head start on potty training. The entire staff is incredibly nurturing and attentive, ensuring that each child feels safe and valued. He began school with Ms. Janae and Ms. Shauntae, who cheered him on as he started to crawl and walk. Now, he's absolutely obsessed with his favorites, Ms. Venice and Ms. Nai'Kaila, as he learns to sing songs, all his colors, the best dances, and practicing writing his name. Communication from the staff is excellent; they provide regular updates on my son's progress and are always open to discussing any concerns I might have. Ms. Kristen and Ms. Lina welcome all parents and children like family. Overall, it has been a wonderful experience, and I feel confident that my son is in great hands!

I was very optimistic and excited when kiddie Academy opened in the area. It started out pretty…read moregreat but the high staff retention has caused this place to go down hill very quickly. If you are looking for a place of baby sitting this is the right place for you. If you are looking for a legitimate curriculum and education to prepare your kid, do yourself and your pockets a favor and look somewhere else. I'll start with the pro: -Location is convenient -New building/classroom -Cameras in the classroom(it's not common everywhere else) Cons: -Director is a joke. Terrible customer service, I wonder if the owners realizes she is tanking their business. -Pre-K teacher Jocelyn is rude and unprofessional. She will not help your kid; she will let them play all day and good Luck when they get to kindergarten. The way she speaks to the kids is VERY concerning. ...Stay away -There is a new teacher every week, and those they hire are not qualified. The good teachers left long time ago when they realized this daycare is not a good place for them to work or teach. -Just a place for kids to play and not learn anything. I can go on and on but I think you get the picture.

With COVID, it was important to know that everything in there was less than a year old and that their staff is constantly cleaning. Second- let's talk about the staff. EVERY ONE that works there is amazing. They are not just nice and friendly, which is important, but they are inviting. I feel that they truly care about my child and that they care about my needs. Ms Roxanna is always working with my daughter, on reading, which is what I had asked. She is so patient and kind but strict enough to get what I request done. They are also always doing fun and educational stuff, even in the summer. Third- I mentioned they have been a blessing. Christin, the director, has truly been our guardian angel. Even when we first didn't sign up since we decided to enroll her in Kindergarten vs pre-k, she still kept tabs on us, just to see how we were doing. When my daughter's nanny could no longer work, Christin made sure that not only could they watch my child but they were able to pick her up from Kindergarten. No matter how crazy my schedule is, Christin and Kiddie Academy have been and are there for me, completely flexible and willing to work with me and my needs. My child has been to other daycares and I felt that at times, I was just a dollar sign. At Kiddie Academy, I feel like we are friends and family and they do truly care about my child.

WEEK 1: So far so good! I just enrolled my son in the part time preschool class. It is by far the…read moremost affordable facility program in our area which to me shows that it isn't all about the bottom line. Going into this I probably have semi high expectations since I run my own daycare in home & I know what to look for. I am satisfied so far. This was also my son's very first time leaving home & in case you're wondering why I am paying a daycare when I run one at home the answer is that my son should have started kindergarten this year but missed the cut-off due to his birthday. I felt like he was ready to start but since he can't, I wanted to at least start the transition slowly into this next phase of his life. Even tho it was his first time leaving home he has not cried or asked to stay home or anything like that. He really seems to enjoy it and he really loves Ms. Smita, one of the pre-k teachers. I've been teaching him how to read & write for a while now but he doesn't always perform for me because I am his mom. UPDATE: A few weeks have passed & they put a new teacher in the pre-k room. Ms. Gwen has a no nonsense attitude which is okay w/ me because I feel my kid needs a strict environment in order to be attentive & get the most out of the class. However the downside to that is she can come off somewhat cold & my son doesn't really enjoy his time there as much, again not the end of the world to me since I'm not paying for them to entertain his every whim rather to teach him age appropriate materials & "gradually" ease him into a school-aged routine. My only problem I am running into is their emphasis on "prepping" for kindergarten leaves me feeling like they sometimes forget that they're NOT YET in kindergarten. They will still need some help in area's like shoe lace tying etc. At the end of the day they're still "PRE-schoolers" which is a step PRIOR to school. Having said all of this I would like to feel a bit more warmth from the teachers & staff. I went out the other evening and let my son help me pick out a gift for his whole class, to keep there. We picked out a big wooden puzzle to present to the teacher the next day. Being a teacher myself I was trying to think of something that would be practical & educational as well. I wrote a little note on the puzzle "To: WVA Preschool Class" I was a bit thrown off when it was sent back home with my son that evening. I guess I may be just cut from a different cloth but when it comes to caring for other people's children I want them to feel just as "welcome," "warm" & "at home" as they would in their own homes. I put as much, sometimes more time, patience & effort into their overall development as I do with my own children. I try to treat them how I would want my own child(ren) being treated. With love and compassion. The one thing I feel is lacking here is people who truly have a passion for working with our future generation.
