I walked into the shop today because I could not remember the name of the shop. Both stylists were busy, so I took out my phone and began to book an appointment online. One of the stylists, whom I later found out was the owner, asked if I needed help. I asked if he had any availability today. He responded, "No, but I believe we have availability tomorrow with XXXX." I remarked that I had not heard anything about XXXX. In a Jekyll & Hyde moment, he retorted to me that, "Well, I guess I just wouldn't come back.... If I give you a recommendation, it should mean something." I was completely taken aback! He then stormed off to my amazement. For what it's worth, I am a civil rights / children with special needs attorney. Whenever I encounter an attitude like this, I always ask myself: What is so bad in your life that makes you such an absolutely contemptible person? Why do you feel it necessary to dismiss people so quickly? Needless to say, I will not be back.

As a college student that goes to a really well known college around the area that's sort of self…read moreexplanatory, I went to this barber shop to get a haircut after not having a haircut for about five months at that point. I chose this particular barber shop because it had really great reviews, and it was considered one of the highest rated in the area, so I was interested in seeing how the service goes. When I stepped in, it was smaller than expected. I saw around a few seats or so, but the atmosphere felt quiet and minimalist, but really warm and welcoming. It wasn't just how things were decorated and designed, the two barbers that were there, Jaclyn and Fallan, were really, really welcoming. As I waited for about ten minutes or so, they were each cutting a customer's hair, and they had lengthy, very personalized conversations with them. It wasn't just casual, it felt almost like they were talking to their best friend, especially in the way Jaclyn engaged in the conversation. From overhearing those conversations and the way they treated them as customers, it is really clear that they very much care, and they really love their job. It's also clear that the two customers that were there were long time customers, and they seemed pretty happy being there. The barber that I got was Fallan. From the very first time I sat in that chair, she asked me what my name was and she introduced herself to me without even asking. That warmth and thoughtfulness extended to even new customers like myself. Fallan had a sort of friendly restraint in the way she spoke with me and I really like that, because I am naturally a more shy and quiet person. The other barber, Jaclyn, who I think is the owner, was absolutely welcoming and so inviting. She asked me a lot of questions about who I am, not only as a customer, but about my background and experiences as a person. She sounded genuinely curious to know more about me, and it was really nice, since Fallan did a great job cutting my hair consistently short, and Jaclyn was consistently conversational and nice the entire way through as I was getting my haircut. I knew that this place had high ratings, and I definitely know why just based on even my first experience. However, even then, I was surprised at how nicely and welcoming they treated me. I thought of it as unusual, but a feeling and experience that I very much accept and welcome because of how thoughtful and friendly it was. If you do want to be treated really well and have incredibly nice and skilled barbers cutting your hair, do consider this barber shop. It still feels somewhat surreal that they were that friendly, and it was only the two of them there.

IF you can find him open, and not to crowded, it's a Great place for a haircut! It would be nice however, if he left his current hours on his answering machine. Or if he got a simple $10 per month web page to post his newest hours on. Vacations, health issues, etc. Joe does not take appointments, it's strickly a first come first served business.

My son is 5 sits still and enjoys going to the grown up barber with his dad rather than the kids hair cutting place. A woman did his first 2 hair cuts and we loved them but now the last 2 cuts have been terrible. He was in yesterday I told his dad do not under any circumstance allow them to cut the one side of his head like last time. He has a hard part that is the slightest bit off but it's the way his hair grows. Last time they shaved it off so it made his hair grow back all spikey. I specifically told his dad to not allow them to ever do that again after waiting close to 3 months to grow it out and having pictures next week. He came out with it shaved again. It looks horrible. Not only did he not listen to what we asked him to do my sons bangs aren't straight at all. Yes 8/10 his hair is gelled over but sometimes we just let it be and his bangs were always straight. Yesterday as his hair fell from it being styled it looked like my 5 year old cut his own hair. Then this morning I noticed he didn't even clean up the back part of his neck and make it straight.
