Adore this shop. Started going this year, after neglecting my hair for all of 2020. 1) I love the location. Main St is North Tonawanda is so cute and just crammed full of cool stuff, especially for retro lovers. Easy to find parking. 2) The shop is decorated so cute with that funky retro vibe. Everyone who works there is so friendly and welcoming. 3) I see Julia Cronyn for my hair, specifically, and after years of the same boring hairstyles and neglect, she was willing to let me go crazy and has done a lot of different stuff for me in the past six months: bleach, balayage, cool color, Brazilian treatment, and now, a pixie. She communicates really well, understands what I want, and executes it perfectly. Also, fun to talk to. 4) I love being able to book online and get text confirmations and reminders. Atomic Barbershop and Salon is located in Tonawanda near the theatre. Ever since the opening of the shop, it has been growing and becoming a favourite amongst Buffalonians of all ages. Besides popularity, the shop has been growing in size and the number of staff members. I've been a client of Lauren, the owner, for many (!) years and will not let anyone else touch my hair. Even prior to the opening of the shop, Lauren has been my hairdresser. She's experienced, talented, and a very kind hearted person. She has done a fantastic job with my cuts, colours, and dos for fancy occasions. While I have not had my hair done by other stylists, their work looks equally as amazing- check out their instagram page if you're in doubt! I booked a last minute same day appointment for a haircut before vacation. I waited maybe 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time but it was to clean the area between clients so I did not mind one bit! Kastle was very nice, and I was overall happy with my haircut. I told him what I wanted and he gave me exactly that. Pricing is pretty standard, $20 for a men's cut plus tip. I would definitely return! read more

My close friend recommended this salon for me because it's where she gets her hair colored. She has a good relationship with the owner, so I figured it was worth a shot. You see, I've never colored my hair before and I've been looking for a change. Before I arrived, I decided to get my hair done a light rose gold. I forgot to mention another thing that helped me decide on Atomic...it's pinup themed! It has the coolest decor and vibe of any salon I've ever stepped into. It's only a couple blocks away from my new favorite store, Pulp 716, too. My mom and I came in about 6:45 for my 7pm appointment. We were ushered to a couple of chairs by the receptionist, who asked if he could get us water. I gladly accepted, but my mom jokingly said she'd rather have a beer. Apparently, they actually offer Pabst. My mom ended up getting Cabernet, which is still boggling my mind a day later. My appointment was with Nikkii, who is immensely friendly and great at what she does. We ended up having a mutual acquaintance, which goes to show what a small world it is. The owner, Lauren, stopped by to chat a couple of times. She's wonderful and we discovered we have a lot in common. Just for the personal touch alone, Atomic deserves 5 stars. I ended up being there until about 9:30, but since my hair had to be bleached first before adding the rose color, it made sense why I was there that long. It also didn't matter because I enjoyed interacting with Nikkii the whole time. Once my hair had been dyed, washed, and then blown out, the finished product looked AMAZING. It was exactly what I had wanted. I'm really pale, so the rose gold color actually makes me look like I have a pulse (it was an ashy blonde before). I can't tell you how much I love the new look. Nikkii cut my hair for me too, so it feels light and soft. Afterwards, Nikkii took some pictures of me for the salon's Instagram. I figured I'd probably like Atomic fine, but that was before I ever walked in. Now I know I adore it. I highly, highly recommend this place to anyone (it's a barbershop too). never getting my hair done anywhere else!! nikkii is my stylist and she blows me away every time with the amazing work she does! the staff there is so so pleasant and nice and the atmosphere in the salon is so funky and cool! not only do i get my hair done here but i also had my prom hair and makeup done here and it is safe to say that i will be coming here for all my special occasions!! i HIGHLY recommend atomic for literally everything hair (and makeup)!! i have nothing but amazing things to say about my experiences here... 13/10!!! read more
