Ya know, I might be one of the few New Hampshirites who visits The Nash Casino, yet never gambles. The reason? I just wanna check out the food scene. Not surprisingly, the casino features some top tier food. We first discovered the steakhouse gem that is Proper Chophouse. Then....I had a little place called Woodlands Cafe pop up on my list of Yelp recommendations. After looking over the menu, it occurred to me that absolutely NO ONE had reviewed their breakfast menu at the time of writing this review. But I'm about to change all that. Before we get to the food though, I will say their dining room is pleasantly inviting and modern. As you can imagine, breakfast tends to attract smaller crowds. Still, the service was fine. I do wish the server had swung by a bit more to check on my coffee refill. But she was otherwise stellar. As for the food.. Forest Ham Omelet: I gotta say...it's nice to see a restaurant prepare a PROPER omelet. That is to say - it's composed of 3 eggs, cooked light and fluffy and NOT scorched in any way. One thing I want to point out is the misleading description of the cheese they use. See, the menu claims it's a "creamy" Havarti cheese. This led me to believe it was almost like a sauce (which would have been nice). Instead, it was more stringy than anything else. It tasted fine, but isn't what I'd consider creamy. The ham is sliced thin and blends well with the scallions. Overall, a very pleasant omelet. 9 out of 10. Toast: So, I got white toast (of course) and....fair warning, it comes dry. However, they offer both butter and jam. You just have to spread it yourself. Naturally, I prefer butter which had no problems melting into the toast. I also appreciate they aren't afraid to toast it a perfect medium darkness. So many other places seem content with serving up albino toast for some reason. 8 out of 10. Home fries: I was pleasantly surprised to see the onions and peppers mixed in. Normally, I'm not much of a peppers guy. But on this occasion, I was feelin' it for some reason. They're the pre-seasoned kind, too. So, they also pair well with the accompanying ketchup, if that's your thing. The colorful medley made the overall presentation of the dish that much more stunning. Solid 9 out of 10. Coffee: Not much to say about this one, other than my gracious appreciation for the fact it didn't taste like tea. It's always nice to have a medium to dark roast as opposed to the unreasonably faint breakfast blend so many other diners offer. Just be sure to request cream and sugar if you want it. 9 out of 10. Clearly, I'm rounding UP on this review as a whole, even if everything wasn't quite perfect. I think the thing that surprised me the most about this place was how inexpensive everything was, considering the quality. It's hard to believe that, in this day in age, I can spend almost double what it cost me here to eat a similar breakfast at a place like MaryAnn's. Such strange times we live in. Well anyway, I definitely would like to try their lunch/dinner menu sometime in the near future. For now, I feel comfortable granting Woodlands Cafe 5 light and fluffy omelets out of 5.

I got lucky when I signed up with The Nash Casinos players club & part of my part was getting a little break in a meal being it $5 off $25 however being I was there already & chose to give it a try I did & had water & steak tips marinated in Worcestershire sauce, garlic mashed potatoes & grilled asparagus & being my food was delicious without salt & pepper I have to give them the props & waiter staff was on their game so seriously how can you diss this (you can't). I know they have been open for about a month but that pt(casino) we'll get to that in appropriate time.

I asked the waitress which she would pick, Hot honey chicken or the fish & chips? I went with her suggestion and got the Hot Honey Chicken Stack.. it wasnt the best. Chicken was a little over cooked and I had a hard time cutting it. And the taste was just blah.. nothing special to write about.. Def pick something else on the menu. The others all got different things and they all liked there meals. The tater tots and sweet potato fries were great side choices. My husband got the steak and cheese crunch melt.. and I don't know if it's just cuz he loves food or if it ws actually good, but he devoured it (he did mention to say it was good). 2 others got steak tips with mashed and broccoli, no complaints and the other 2 got a club and a chicken ranch Handheld. They all enjoyed their meals. Service: its was mediocre. Nothing to brag about. Noone went over and above for me to mention about. Only one check back after our food eas delivered, until it was time to drop off check. Ambiance: its your typical American sports bar scenery. Huge bar throughout the whole place. Pretty busy. I honestly wish I had something more exciting to say about the place. Maybe next t time ill try a dessert and hopefully that will be exciting..

The service was good. A touch slow on drinks and I think our server forgot to put in one of our meals...it came out quite a while after the rest of the dishes. She was such a sweetheart though and they squeezed us in when they were really busy, so I couldn't dock a star for that because everything else was amazing. The drinks were delicious. The FOOD! Oh my gosh, it was all SO GOOD! Calamari, steak tips, chicken, eggplant lasagna, gyro and baked scallops were all winners. The scallops though! I could go on and on about how wonderful the food was. We will definitely be back and recommending it to anyone who will listen!

We had a party of 7 and we were very excited to finally try Dreo. We started with 2 orders of the calamari and the spinach dip special. My husband noticed the calamari also had shrimp which I am allergic to. They happily removed the shrimp but unfortunately it's fried in the same oil (which is completely logical) but everyone at our table (besides me) throughly enjoyed the calamari. I cannot even begin to explain how good the spinach dip was. I'm not sure I'll have want to eat spinach dip without garlic bread again!!! Next up entrees: 2 ribeyes, 1 NY strip, 1 Korean BBQ Bowl, 1 Soy Maple Glazed Salmon, and 1 Tuscan Fried Chicken. I am newly pregnant and to be honest I was not looking forward to eating out because my go to is rib eye but I refuse to eat well done meat so instead I ordered the Tuscan fried chicken. I also asked to sub the mashed potatoes for truffle fries and the veggie medley for green beans. They had no problems with my requests which I loved. I loved every single bite of my chicken and I actually stopped caring that I was missing on steak! In fact every single person at our table loved everything they ate too. We ended our meal with cookie skillets and again absolutely delicious! Now our meal was fantastic by itself but I have to say our waiter Brett was just as amazing!! He couldn't have done a better job and he totally rolled with our parties over the top personalities. Even if the food wasn't outstanding we'd go back just for the service! I really hope of the owners or managers see this; Brett is fantastic and deserves praise!! We will definitely be back and since I still have about 7 and half months to go I will be coming back for more Tuscan fried chicken soon!!

Service at tables is sub par, slow and not managed well. Not one visit. Multiple visits. We've been there more than a dozen times. It's such a unique place that I want to succeed desperately. Sometimes it is full and super busy but overtime. Some of these issues will catch up with them. It's a management issue. Food is consistent, tasty pub food at a relatively good price point. The challenge is food getting to the table in reasonable timeframes, hot and on time (apps not arriving at the same time as main course). There is an issue with the clarity of the service model. This past Sunday evening is a great example. Not busy. Server more focused on closing at 5:45pm than our table. Didn't see for long periods. We were at a table next to the bar and I saw our beers and wine.l sit there. I ended up getting them myself. One of our three appetizers came out ahead of time the other two arrived with dinner and they were warm at best. When dinner did arrive, the onion rings were cold. There seemed to be a manager, more concerned about busing our table and less about our status. In a past visit, a manager acknowledged the challenges we had and offered a gift certificate. I said it wasn't necessary. I just want to provide the feedback because I love the venue, the beer and the pub food. What is necessary is how fundamentally look at how they serve their customers consistently.

Wings: Good on quantity, but kinda soggy and not much texture, as if they were quickly reheated frozen tenders that just happened to have bones. Burger: A little better. Nice double smash with just enough crust and a moist interior. Nothing special beef blend-wise. Puffy bun. Minimal melt on the cheese. Fries: An easy $1 add-on to the burger but very very processed, and the coated kind to boot.

My biggest wish is that the menu changed up a bit more. Every time I go, it feels very similar, and I often find myself struggling to find something that truly stands out or excites me. The food is good, just not particularly memorable. That said, the service is consistently good and it's still a nice place to meet up or go for a casual night out. And if it has premium beef and isn't yet another smashburger (I like them, but enough already), best scenario yet. Forge & Vine Cheeseburger: The burger here was fantastic. Most importantly, the beef brought flavor-- very enjoyable. Crusting was solid, though there could have been a bit more-- and perhaps a bit more seasoning. But no issues with the flavor, and the interior was a perfect medium rare with juices aplenty. The challah-like bun-- with appropriate size, volume, and density-- also brought some flavor: a pleasant slight sweetness. Cheese got the right melt, tomatoes were very fresh, and the other ingredients all worked in harmony. Tallow Fries: Included with the cheeseburger, these had both crispness and give, with a moist, fatty lubricant to aid the texture and flavor. Salting was on point. And plenty of them. All this for $24 might seem steep, but in today's economy, where it'll run you nearly $20 for a burger and fries at Five Guys, I'm all for paying a few extra bucks for the extra quality. And the space itself is pretty impressive too, from the high ceilings to the wood to the open kitchen to the view of farmland out back. Service was good too: efficient and friendly. Planning to return to try other items and post another review.
