The cost was not bad for the whole family, and kids under 2 are free. There were several various vendors, ice cream truck, taco food truck, and grilled food for sale. Parking was good and easy. My god-daughter enjoyed the pony ride. We definitely enjoyed the entire day here. My god-son fed and petted a few animals.

My kids did the pony ride literally 2 rounds (they wanted to keep going) then they had about 10 minutes in the petting zoo. That costs me around $60 & they do not take credit cards.

Kim truly loves her horses and cares for them with so much compassion. She brushed each one, sprayed them down so the bugs didn't bother them and saddled them up. She made sure our stirrup's fit properly and we loaded up for the ride. Once out of the gate we headed for the trail and then through the woods, crossed a creek and even met some of her neighbors along the ride. We trotted and galloped, my goodness I loved EVERY second of it!!! The horses listened very well. They look to Kim as their leader and will not run without her doing so even if you try to get them to. We will definitely be back when the weather cools down. I love that she doesn't run her horses in summer much because of the heat. This is a wonderful place to ride.

We were given clear instruction on how to pull the reigns to get the horses to move were we wanted. Our guide was very helpful and told us fun facts about the different horses they have at their farm. Also, the guide offered to take pictures of us while riding. When we got back to the farm we were able to give a snack to the horses. Overall, we both had a great time and enjoyed the ride. The prices are reasonable, and I would recommend this farm for anyone who is looking for a trail or scenic town horse ride. Another cool thing is that they offer pony parties for the kids as well!!

It was hot and humid but the ride was mostly in shade. The horses were very well behaved, and my daughter absolutely loved it. Her horse was well behaved and gave no issues. My wife's horse kept eating (much like me), but still was gentle and easy going. This place is great for beginners as the horses are well behaved. You take a 15 minute tutorial in how to ride then off you go.

I was impressed with the instructor's credentials and work with kids so it seemed to be a good fit for my needs. Upon my first visit, she greeted me promptly at our lesson time. She introduced herself, pointed out the horses and pony and started instruction immediately. What I liked is that she began the lesson with getting my daughter familiar with the pony, safety, grooming, saddling, picking, etc. The instructor is patient and my daughter is very comfortable around her. It also helps that she's a military brat :). There are a lot of "brats" around these parts and I try to support these business owners when I can. Unlike many facilities, they are closer to areas in eastern Prince William County, a definite plus for those in Woodbridge/Dale City. It is a small stable with 4 horses and 1 pony on the premises from what I've seen. The horses appear healthy and well maintained. The barn is kept clean. I don't know how long my daughter will want to continue horseback riding lessons at her age but she appears to really enjoy them and her time at the stables.

There are mixed age groups and it's amazing to see how kind and supportive the older kids are to the younger kids. The counselors (mostly former campers I think) are hilarious, energetic, creative, kind. Don, a former teacher who has run the camp for over 40 years, is very thoughtful and reflective and the kids love him. This camp gives kids the space to discover their own confidence, creativity, initiative, and it's really really FUN!!!

Starting with Nature Camps' "Little Feet" program, they have grown through the Day Camp and, for the first time, this past summer, "Teen Adventure". The counselors' skills in facilitating each child's personal development and ability to connect with people and the environment around them are astoundingly spectacular. I've lost count of the time I've found myself using the word "magical" to describe how Nature Camps is able to reveal, respect and develop children's best selves. Pick up and drop off at Nature Camps' rustic, wooded location in Monkton offers parents an opportunity to connect with their children and participate in fun activities like "Big Circle". (The (optional) van service from Greenspring Station and/or ad hoc carpools offers other options for families who'd prefer to reduce their own driving time.) In these ways, Nature Camps' values and opportunities outweigh the factors of cost and convenience. Our family's favorite part of each two-week session is the Family Overnight. Overnight activities include a potluck supper followed by entertainment from campers and staff as well as family and friends followed by activities like as night hikes, crafts, and singing by a campfire. The following morning, parents and younger campers are served breakfast prepared by older campers (and staff).
