Very kind and attentive doctor and staff. He treated my mother and then me and was knowledgeable and efficient.

I just needed a simple yes or no answer, because otherwise I'd be going to see another doctor somewhere else. I ended up selecting Dr. Meghan Hunter after researching the credentials of doctors in the area. The entire staff is extremely friendly. They remember details about me and my family when we visit. The nurses are awesome and are very knowledgable. Dr. Hunter is extremely smart and personable. She does not treat folks like they are a 10 minute slot. In fact, she spends as much time as it takes to take care of business -- sessions with her are not rushed. Each time I have visited Dr. Hunter, she clearly articulated my issues, described my treatment plans, then got me on the road to wellness. Yes, sometimes they run behind, but it's a doctor's office. Sometimes there are serious issues that they must tend to and sometimes there are routine issues. I highly, highly recommend this practice!

She is the most caring Doctor I have ever had. I had other problems and she sent sent me down town to Baylor for open heart using robotic surgery. My recovery was short. I was back in sinus rhythm and was expecting to go home like every other time I've had one done but she refused to sign the release paperwork. She wanted to do an echocardiogram because one heart valve was pumping just barely underwhat it should be but looked normal. I said I would have one of my regular cardiologists do one on my follow up visit. This was not a critical situation. I have a regular cardiologist and an electrophysiology cardiologist. Both of my cardiologists told me it was just because I had been in AFib for a week and it would go back to normal since I had just had a stress test done a few weeks prior and my heart was fine. She was informed that a stress test had been done and of the results. She told me if I checked myself out against her wishes, they would not run the bill through my insurance and I would be responsible for the whole thing out of pocket. I have since found out they can not do that. They HAVE TO run it through your insurance and this is a tactic some Drs use to get more money out of you and line their pockets. I was blackmailed into staying another 18 hours in the hospital by Dr Brown for a test that took less than 4 minutes and I had to threaten to leave just to get them to do it the next day. Dr Brown will lie to you and take advantage of your ignorance. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying away from Drs like her who put their own interests above their patients for financial gain and I will never use St Luke's again since they employ someone like this.

I want to share my personal experience with First Primary Care…read more This is the first time in my life, I felt like I have found a health care provider that treated my family as patients. We were able to receive one on one consultation with Dr. Kate Snodgrass to learn about our medical history as an initial visit. Although things moved fairly rapidly for my family with a challenging medical need, Dr. Snodgrass stayed in touch and walked us through what to do and is guiding us through our medical journey as our Primary Care Physician. Transparency is a top priority for my family when it comes to healthcare and First Primary Care achieves it without flaws. There is a lot of fear that comes with the unknown. The fears can cause stress and hesitation to get the care you need but if you know what to expect and you have a provider that can lay out a clear road map you can overcome those fears and get quality care My friend said, "It is a different kind of health care and health care plan." I couldn't agree more. What we love most about First Primary Care: 1. Open communication 2. Personalized Care & Medical Guidance 3. Transparency on HealthCare Cost 4. During this time of uncertainty with Covid it can be easy to get lost inside a practice and have real difficulty getting answers. That is the opposite of what you get with this practice.

Dr. Powellson was in NO way friendly, welcoming, comforting, or helpful. He was, instead;rude, argumentative, interrupting, judgemental, cold, and dismissive. He was entirely focused on my mental health diagnosis-which was NOT why I was there-and treated my physical health, as well as some important concerns I tried to communicate, as an afterthought. The room was cold, sterile, uncomfortable, and so is Dr. Powellson. I was immediately put off and defensive with his demeanor, and his lack of focus on my physical health rather than my mental- he seemed to form an opinion when I told him my diagnosis- was confusing and frustrating. I jave a lump in my abdomen and another in my pelvis that he NEVER EXAMINED, or asked about them after I mentioned it. I felt judged, as though Dr Powellson has a bias about people with BPD. The building and the lobby made me want to turn around as soon as I got there, and Dr. Powellson made me so uncomfortable; feeling judged and argued with, and frustrated, that I walked out of the appointment within 5 minutes of meeting and talking to him. At NO time did I feel like Dr Powellson cared about my physical concerns, or even HEARD them. This was just supposed to be a general physical and check-up, and Dr. Powellson made it the most uncomfortable, unpleasant, and awful appointments I have ever had.
