A train attendant will eventually ask all passenger for their tickets or pay onboard either using cash or credit card. How much was a one-way ticket to Penn Station? It was only $17/pax! Few shaded areas with lots of views making it a pretty awesome ride into Manhattan. You'll reach there in less than 30 minutes because on Sunday's it operates on a rapid express route skipping several stations. It's an enjoyable ride and per Google, there was an option to transfer at Jamaica Station. But since the faster route brought us to Penn, it cut even more time. Lot's of people seem to keep to themselves, I'm pretty sure that you will come across beggars or train performers, so always keep track of your belongings and stay vigilant as this is city public transportation. I bet on weekdays it can get extremely crowded like what you'd typically go through during rush hour. However you need to experience riding The Meteo in NYC. It's fun. Definitely recommend!

The inside of the train cars were very clean. My one big complaint is that when we arrived at the Carle Place station from Penn Station, the door opened for just a few seconds and we couldn't get off the train. We had to ride to the next station and walk 25 minutes to our destination. It was late at night. Luckily it was a safe neighborhood. I don't know if we were supposed to do something to get the door to open. There were no officials in our train car to ask.

When I got off the plane from Las Vegas to JFK, I picked up my luggage and walked over to the tram. There was two different trams going, and the one I was getting on was the Howard Beach AirTrain route. The Howard Beach AirTrain route offers a nearly nonstop, 15 minute link from Terminal 5 to the subway at Howard Beach, with simplicity, platform screen doors, and round the clock availability. The Howard Beach line originates at Howard Beach station, travels through Lefferts Boulevard, moves into Federal Circle, and then enters the terminal loop, stopping at Terminals 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 in that sequence. Travel between terminals is free! There are seats in the Tram, but it can get busy during the morning hours or in the evening. When I arrived in around 7:00 P.M, its pretty empty. Once I arrived at the Howard Beach stop, I went down the escalator, to the ride share app pickup location. It's a seamless ride!

This station doesn't get too crowded during rush hours and the crowds are generally friendly. This is an Oyster Bay line station, that means the trains are few and far between. If you miss your train be prepared to wait. There is no taxi stand nearby to save you.

There was plenty of seating inside the car and a very quick ride over to Terminal 5. There is plenty of signage in the terminal and also some staff here to help you. This stop is also for Rental Cars. I truly believe that the AirTrain was the best addition to JFK Airport since the airport's inception. It makes moving around a pleasure. Also, they seem to spend a fair amount of time keeping these trains clean. KUDOs to the whole AirTrain system.

Get on here from the shuttle busses. It takes you around the airport to each terminal. This is just one of the stops on this train. It's free if getting around just the airport. This stop is near the western side. It then goes to a couple of possible stations after you get on here. It's to Howard Beach or Jamaica. These will then get you on the public subway.

Additionally, there's a coffee window/newsstand that's open during peak hours in the mornings, although I can't speak for the quality- never tried it. I think it's great that it's there in the event the Starbucks on Bronx River Road has ruined your order (they likely did). Next to the ticket machines are also beverage and snack vending machines. Overpriced, of course. It's a cleaner than the ones located further south, but the southbound trains always seem to be a few or 10 minutes behind. Drives me bonkers. That's all.

after doing a little shopping at the cross county mall my cuz who was my ride had to make a beeline…read moreto work and he was nice enough to drop me off at the fleetwood metro north station which via the local route will get me to white plains in about 30 minutes. the tracks are on lower level of the entrance which means you will walk down a bunch of steps which is better then walking up. a few ticket machines as a human is not maning the booth and the vending machines are ok but if the small snack shop is open you can get small coffee , candies , newspapers, etc. the electronic signage are helpful and useful for train times and possible delays. train come every 30 minutes during peak and non peak time and the waiting area above the platform is better then waiting on those nasty cold days. area is safe and i notice a few mta cop cars park on each side of station entrance. good station for folks who live in the area and work in manhattan or need to travel to upper westchester and beyond.

The Hoboken PATH Station is one of my primary methods of public transportation when I want to head…read moreinto Lower Manhattan. It's such a convenient way to travel back and forth from NYC to NJ. It's easy to navigate (even for those who are new to public transportation) and budget-friendly. It also connects you to Jersey City and Newark Penn Station. If you're driving to the terminal, parking can be a bit of a hassle. You can be lucky enough to find street parking, but be aware of the meters and the residential-only permits. The other option is to park in one of the garages nearby. You can purchase a ticket or MetroCard at any of the self-service vending machines near the entrance. A one-way adult ticket is $3. They accept bills and credit cards. They even have a Tap-And-Go fare payment system at the turnstiles, which is quick and convenient! Once you get through the gates, you'll see signage to guide you to the proper tracks. The PATH operates 24/7, but you have to be mindful of the schedules. The lines operate differently on the weekdays and weekends. In addition, some lines do not operate after 11pm on weekdays. I suggest downloading the PATH app. You can get familiar with the schedules, receive alerts, and get real-time train information. Currently, there are two lines that will get you directly from Hoboken to Manhattan. One line runs through Newport, Exchange Place, and the World Trade Center and another line runs through Christopher St, 9th St, 14th St, 23rd St, and 33rd St. Depending on the day and time, you might have to get off at other stops and then hop on a different connecting line to get to your destination. It all makes sense after you get the hang of it. The trains are typically clean and arrive/leave on time. It's about a 10-15 minute ride into the city. Of course the trains can get crowded (we all know how congested NYC and North Jersey are...). But for a $3 ride into NYC, I'll hold my breath and prepare to get packed like a sardine in a can.

At least it offers a terrific view of the NYC skyline after exiting the Lincoln Tunnel on a clear day. I do have to say that the bus runs frequently, is on time both ways, and drops off right in front of the Expo center. I took it early afternoon to attend an event at the Meadowlands Expo Center and had no problems getting there and back. The bus was pretty empty both ways. Made a few stops and that was it. A little confusing finding the correct gate at the Port Authority but no biggie. Serves it's purpose well enough.

The teller is only in the booth to answer questions or sell tickets 50 percent of the time. Ticket machines located upstairs in the overpass that connects north and south bound tracks. This station is a stop on the New Haven Line (the first top in Westchester) and although the trains are never on time, there are always taxis lined up here waiting for passengers with the arrival of every train. That alone makes this station superior to many others in the area. Then, we can add a point for the Popeye's two blocks away. There is also a Rite-Aid, *new* Checkers, the local Chicken Hut, a liquor store, two grocery stores, McDonald's, and plenty of other lackluster distractions. There are some interesting folks around here and the Mount Vernon Police Department is also a few blocks away from the station. The late trains really frustrate me, but a girl's gotta get around.
