Nice course, friendly staff in the clubhouse and the golf pro was wonderful, but the course Marshall was less than polite. Maybe he should have watched us play, rather than speak uninformed. He did not quite yell at us, but he was less than polite, but he did say he wanted us to have a good experience. After we took too long on the 1st hole he asked us to keep pace and allow folks to play through. And we were too slow. But here is my gripe with the Marshall. From then on, we only ever took more than 1 swing more than par for the hole. And almost never took time to put. (I.e., on a par 4 hole, we took only 4 or 5 swings). Often we picked up the ball and moved down the course. On par 5s, we would go past the black/white post, on a par four to just short of the green to try our hand at chipping onto the green. On the 4th, a par 3, we Cleared the green, but the foursome behind us stood around starring at scenery. How long are we supposed to wait for them to play through, a few minutes, later we went on to #5 while the took pics of the mountain. Their bad, our ours? I think we were much more than courteous to those stuck behind us, and we were taking more than our share of the blame. We did not get caught again until hole 7. After which the Marshall appeared again and asked us to allow players to play through, said we were playing too slow, and should hop over to #17, which we were already doing. read more

Course is very overpriced for the conditions of the greens, fairways and tee boxes. There are better courses close by that don't charge as much. read more

Gorgeous day to golf. Course is in excellent condition. The guys assisting with clubs and carts were super friendly. The pro shop - not so friendly. Its a tourist town and they probably get tired of people. It just surprises me that people can be so unfriendly when we as visitors are being friendly to them. Driving range in excellent condition as well. Our 13 year grew out of his clubs. Wouldn't let him use ours, which is fine. Only $9.50 to rent clubs which I thought was an excellent price. Everything about this course was fantastic. Just down one star due to the unfriendly staff in the pro shop. read more

Stay far away from this course. No more than 30seconds after parking there is a 60yr old cart guy all up in my business asking to load my clubs up. Sir is this a country club? Quite the opposite actually. Pro shop was DEAD. No amenities on the course whatsoever besides one bathroom stop on the back 9. No advertisements for food. No cart girl. Shoot I didn't even see a ranger driving around so why is buddy trying to load my clubs up for me? Feel like I speak for most of the golf community when I say that nobody wants that. Me personally, I just wanted to get outside & enjoy a nice round with my dad but kinda hard to do that when you're immediately bombarded by some fool. Ruined the vibe of the place immediately. Then he makes things difficult by repeatedly telling me I can't bring an outside cooler. I understand not bringing alcohol but you're telling me I can't put my lunchbox in the back of the cart?? (Given I already had placed my backpack into the cart with my jacket & speaker & extra towels just makes this even more laughable). Went into the pro shop again to discuss (3 dudes behind the counter by the way) & they just kind of laughed it off. Maybe lay off on so many pro shop employees and worry about your grounds keeping. Absolutely ridiculous. Course was in terrible shape. Tee boxes were beyond beat up & the rough/fairways are hard to discern on some holes. Also whoever is in charge of pin placement needs to relearn that. At least 6-7 of the holes had incorrect flag colors. Specifically one hole I see a blue flag (meaning back of the green) & once I go look at my approach the pin was no more than 10ft from the front of the green. Not to mention I completely forgot...9 OUT OF 18 OF THESE HOLES ARE PAR 3's. This isn't even a real course but they expect you to pay the same amount as if you were. I understand this course is on a resort, but there were a decent amount of pedestrians around the course which should not be the case. I should not be teeing up for a 115yd par 3 with a group of children playing around in the grass 30yd ahead to my right. Could've used a ranger. Bad vibes all the way around. Will never be coming back to this course again & I once again recommend avoiding this at all costs. Go play literally any other course within a 50mile radius if you'd like to enjoy yourself a bit. If I could give negative stars I would. 0/10 never again read more

I'm a current JMU student and got tired of the crappy courses around Harrisonburg so I ventured out here for my yearly college membership. It's a fun course, but a little unconventional as it's a par 65 with 9 par 3s, so you're not ripping driver a whole lot. It's a tough walk especially with the weird layout of having what feels like a quarter mile between holes 3-4, 6-7, and 17-18. Greens are in great shape, fairways are good for the most part, only set backs I ever really notice that affect my play are the tee boxes but they're passable for most holes. Staff has been great and the practice facilities (putting/chipping with bunker and driving range with mats and a driver/woods grass section) are awesome. Would recommend getting out here if you're around it. read more

While we were in town for a small weekend get away we decided to look into a place to golf. While doing some research we found Woodstone Meadows and saw that they had something called FlingGolf. The sport itself took a little getting used to but the one tip that I can give is to use the overhead swing especially for beginners and to start the swing as far back as you can otherwise the ball will skip across the ground. You will need to play around with it to get used to it but it is a fun alternative and pretty easy to pick up. The course itself was beautiful with some views of the mountains. Some of the par threes were very short from the red tees where they want you to play for FlingGolf but that was a good thing for just learning the sport. We played on a Sunday Morning and it wasn' crowded and we never felt rushed. I would recommend for anyone wanting to golf or try FlingGolf in the area. read more

Very disappointed with the customer service and with the apparent course policy. Played golf at 5PM. Got told at the 12th hole at 7PM that they were shutting down because of lightening (still haven't seen lightening...I think they wanted to go home early). Asked for a rain check and was told they didn't give rain checks at that time of day. So, let me get this. YOU forced me to stop playing and quote a policy like that??? Trust me, I understand the need for safety, and I am one of the first golfers to get off a course when there is lightening in the area but you were the initiator. Two things: 1) The guy in the pro shop almost seemed excited to tell me he didn't want to give me a rain check, so he doesn't really know how to handle "unfortunate" situations which exhibits his lack of customer service skills and care for customers. 2) Think about it financially. You could have given me a 9 hole rain check, I would have come back on a different night and paid for 18 and you would have been money ahead! Great business policy; but, if that is how you choose to operate, it is your business to do so. It is also my business to choose which golf courses I frequent in the evenings after work some 3 to 5 times per week. This probably won't change anything, but at least others will know not to play after 5PM if it might rain. read more

In my 10 years of golfing, I have never encountered worse customer service than here. The golf pro at the counter, Dennis, immediately had an attitude as soon as I walked through the door. He berated me for asking questions about the golf course (it was my first time), then proceeded to charge me over $100 for 9 holes of golf. When I went back inside, he said it was his mistake but did not bother to apologize. If you want to golf in the area, I recommend staying far away from this place. read more

Very nice and quiet. Conveniently close to everything. So far the best stay we've had at Massanutten.

Very nice course. Would give more stars but a few condos are close to fairways. (Nets protect wayward drives). Wonderful staff!! Try the hot dogs near the driving range, 5 stars for them. Greens and Fairways in great condition. Enjoyed our time there, will return soon. read more

Ok executive course. Several fairways were a little worn. Having never played it before, I would have appreciated some graphic signage that would give some indication of what lay ahead on some of the holes. The 9th hole is pretty awful design. 171 up hill, very elevated green over water with a sand trap dead center in front of the green. Not fun. If in the area to golf, I would suggest Lakeview, better condition and less expensive. read more
