There are 18 rustic campsites, with water fountains/spigots, non-flush toilets, picnic tables, and grills available for campers and day use visitors. There are garbage cans available, but it is advised that you pack out your trash if possible. The roads leading into and out of the park are unpaved and are not plowed in the winter. Four wheel drive is not necessary to get there, but if you drive a car that is low to the ground be aware that the trip up will not be the smoothest. We spent a long weekend here in mid October, and while there were a few other couples and families camping on Fri/Sat night, on Sunday we were completely alone. It was isolated and a little creepy, but ultimately it was really nice to be away from civilization! Rangers drive through a couple times of day. There are some nice trails, lots of wildlife (keep your food in your car, if you don't want to be visited by foxes and coyotes in the middle of the night) streams, and a pond that is stocked for fishing. It is a nice, quiet place to kick back & enjoy the outdoors. I am really looking forward to visiting again!

Plenty to see and do in rural central PA. Convent to many state parks, streams, and caves. Lots of great local eateries and creameries nearby. Careful of the buggies. Campground and Roads are well kept, with many long-term sites. Friendly campers this place is beyond quiet. I couldn't see any lights close by after 9pm. The cabin itself was very basic, and firewood was provided for the wood burner. We were actually HOT one night and cracked the window, no worries about not being warm enough. The shower could use a little updating and there was a note that said sometimes the pilot light goes out and there might not be hot water and if that happened to find the owner and they would help. Luckily it worked, but it could use something other than a pallet to stand on ;) Look, it's not the holiday inn, but I would prefer a rustic cabin on beautiful land over a boring sterile hotel room any day!!

There were bugs across the floor of the cabin near the windows in the living room. There was no broom and dustpan anywhere that we could find to clean it up. If we come back I think we'll most likely stay at the Tiny Homes. They were much cleaner and the bed was a lot more comfortable.

It was nice to sit outside with the leaves falling. This was special to me as I live in Florida and do not have the privileges of seeing falling leaves. Jamie the owner was very pleasant, informative. I tried calling for two days to make reservations, left messages she did return my call. Jamie is running the campground during the week by herself, said she was working outside and apologized for not answering the phone. Don't let this deter you, I am sure you would be very please!! Just another little note very much into recycling. Cans, plastic bags etc. they have big bins for them. KEEP AMERICA CLEAN

Given the circumstances we're living with in 2020, I honestly didn't think I would get the chance…read moreto safely travel again for a couple of years. So when a family member approached me and asked me if I wanted to stay at this inn, I was surprised; but, after learning more, I excitedly said yes. This was the right decision and led to a fantastic and relaxing weekend away from the city. This nature inn sits in Bald Eagle State Park and has 16 guest rooms, a handful of meeting room/library spaces, and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms on one side of the inn overlook a lake, with the other side facing a cluster of trees. My relative and I ended up facing the trees, but we were totally fine with that - especially since the fall foliage was starting to set in. We were on the 2nd floor, so we were able to enjoy the view from a private balcony throughout the weekend; it looked like the 1st floor rooms had little patios instead, so no matter what, guest rooms have some sort of outdoor seating. Normally, guests would all be able to enjoy a communal patio and fire pit here. Granted, some other guests (as it appeared that a large group came here together) did go ahead and enjoy this space. My relative and I did not because avoiding people is a must these days, but still, what we saw of these spaces looked great. Definitely something to remember for the future. Speaking of avoiding people - it's 2020, so naturally, my relative and I were focused on what the inn is doing to protect guests. The answer is, plenty! Cleaning and sanitizing the inn is a big thing, naturally. The small size of the inn definitely helps, as it's not particularly big and doesn't lend itself to the gathering of huge crowds. Masks are a must and for the most part, this rule was adhered to; I passed by a couple of guests that I think just forgot theirs momentarily, but staff definitely took the rule seriously. Their dining room is currently closed - all meals are prepped and offered as take-out or delivery. Fortunately, the rooms include a fridge, so it was super easy for my relative and me to bring snacks and store our leftovers so that we were stocked and well-fed all weekend. Also, while you can request items that you need for your room, daily turn-down service is not happening right now - that way, only guests are in their rooms during their stay. The result was that I felt extremely relaxed while I was in the inn, knowing that my space and health was being respected and taken seriously. A couple of notes - the mattresses here were admittedly very hard and uncomfortable, and while they didn't ruin our stay, it's still nice to have my comfy soft bed back. I don't really hold this against the inn though since, frankly, I think all hotel beds are uncomfortable by default. Speaking of things I don't hold against them - this is a nature inn, so you better expect some of the local wildlife to try to get into your room. When I first opened my balcony door some stinkbugs fell onto me because they had gathered around the door frame - whoops! The good news is that the door itself was very well sealed, so the little jerks couldn't get in when the door was closed. Again, I don't hold that against the inn at all, seeing as it's set right in a state park. Still, I think it's fair to remind other guests and readers that when you visit a nature park, you better be ready to experience everything nature throws at you. If any of this sounded like something you would enjoy, I encourage you to visit the inn's website to learn more about staying here; there is a lot of information there about a range of other topics, such as how the entire facility is designed to be ecologically sound, what to expect when you visit during different seasons, and what sorts of outdoor fun awaits you in the surrounding nature park. My very low score of 2 stars is leaning towards 1 star but the very kind maintenance man who visited our room kept it at a 2. No air conditioning, 3 calls to the front desk over the course of 3 to 4 hours, end result the front desk suggested we open the window. The window did open about 6 inches and did not have a screen. Let's wait and see what kind of bugs we wake up to in the morning. I will edit or add to my review after we check out tomorrow and let, can't wait to see what management does with this.

We had a door that was basically to the entrance. We had to keep the blackout shade down the whole time instead of having a window we could look out of sometimes. The lights in the bathroom were crazy bright with no other option and came on with a sensor you could not turn off. Our second night, the sensor must have been tripped by people walking too close to our door (they went on as soon as you entered the room), since the lights went on without either of us getting out of bed twice. This woke me up and disturbed our sleep. Very annoying. Lionne's food was great, but the service was definitely not very good. Friendly, but not good - especially for breakfast. You pay for parking too. They charge you per night and give you two tickets to get out. You have to pay any other time. They did charge slightly less than you'd pay otherwise, but not much. If not walking to your events on campus, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

What once looked like an organizational nightmare (not to mention the challenge of driving, parking, and leveling an RV) became the best football weekend I've ever had! Sharon and her team are amazing. They're super responsive when you call and can help you find the answer to any question. When you show up on Friday everything is ready for you, they even have wagons to help you bring in your stuff! They have a team on site all weekend in case anything goes wrong (nothing did). We added a fire pit and an outdoor tv to our rv, which I highly recommend for those late season games. I can't imagine planning another PSU weekend without Nittany RV. Totally worth the money! It truly is a hotel room in the tailgates.
