First of all the food was amazing, the oysters (grilled and raw) were fresh coming from my Louisiana taste buds, the Hawaiian steak was cooked to perfection along with the fried quail my mother ordered. However, most importantly our server, Megan, was incredibly personable and made us feel genuinely welcomed. She was prompt in answering all our questions with a warm and knowledgeable approach. The bison filet and Carolina pork chop (specials) were both delicious; tender and well seasoned. The duck taco appetizer was served rare and it was good! I appreciated the cold plate and fork for the wedge salad. The sides were yummy and the beverages (bourbon on the rocks and nicely chilled pinot Grigio) were well presented. We celebrated our 15th anniversary with some of our best friends last Saturday night. I got shrimp n grits and it was outstanding. We're at Woody's every Tuesday night for trivia, so I've worked my way through over half the menu and am uniquely qualified to tell you that everything is DELICIOUS. Apps: I highly recommend their duck poppers, but their fried mushrooms, wagyu sliders, and fried crawfish bites are also amazing! Whatever you do, do NOT skip their bread with blackberry (?) butter. I can't tell you how many times I've been tempted to buy an entire pint of that butter, but I wouldn't have enough self control to not eat it straight out of the tub with a spoon. Entrees: My favorite has to be the filet. Woody's knows steak, and I've never had it come out less than perfectly tender and cooked. However, their chop steak, chicken cordon bleu, shrimp and grits, creole pasta, and burgers all hold their own! Again, I've never eaten here and been disappointed with what I received. A big shout out as well to their wedge salad with shrimp skewer for being one of the freshest salads I've had in a while. Desserts: I've only every indulged in their snickers "ravioli" (basically a fried snickers hand pie) but it was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I had our anniversary on Feb 10 and with Valentines Day being the 14th, we thought we would celebrate both by going out to a nice dinner. Since we recently moved back to Mississippi from Pennsylvania, my brother and sister-in-law , who also live in Tupelo, joined us to celebrate their Valentines Day dinner. Having made reservations for the 17th, we all met at Woody's and when we were being seated by Feather, ( who I learned later is actually the owner), I noticed we were being seated by a long table that seated at least 12 - 14 people. I mentioned this and Feather commented "oh, don't worry, it's a private party but it'll be fine". Another group of 2 couples was seated next to our right after we sat down. Everything was fine until this "private party" arrived.........drunk already. To say they were loud, obnoxious, asses would be putting it mildly. We couldn't have any conversation at our table after they arrived because this group was so rowdy and rude. Then more of their group joined in until all the tables in that area were full of obnoxious, loud, asses. We were surrounded. Nothing was done, even after we mentioned to our server how unpleasant this was getting. She sympathized with us and said they were being awful to her and they were obviously drinking a lot before they came in. It got so bad, that the 2 couples to our right hurriedly ate and left. I was actually in the women's room when they left and both women came in and we all commented on how horrible the group was and how they had ruined our dinners. Since our entrees had arrived, we ate and left, and upon arriving home, I called Woody's and spoke to Feather, the owner. She said she was trying to get the group out of there, she had spoken to them twice about the noise, and she just wanted them to finish eating and leave. She also said they had made one of her servers walk out and had another one in tears. Feather promised to call me back within1 or 2 days and make it right. That was Friday, February 17. Today is Saturday, March 4. I don't know what kind of calendar Feather has, but mine shows that was over 2 weeks ago. Have not heard a word from Feather. I have been in in Customer Service management for over 30 years and this is the worst example of customer service I have ever encountered. The owner - of all people - didn't have the courtesy to call me back and do something about our totally ruined Anniversary and Valentines dinner. This was HER responsibility as an owner to make this right and to follow through with her statement. My husband and I were happy to discover Woody's when we moved back to Tupelo. Unfortunately, it is now - and will always remain - out of rotation with Harvey's, Park Heights, etc as a location for us to dine. Bernard or Blair (Harvey's/ Park Heights) would never treat clients this way. They understand what customer service is about. Feather could learn from them. Woody's is definitely off our list and we will never return. My family and friends feel the same way after hearing our experience. Owners should take ownership when diners have a bad experience. Feather definitely did not. Very disappointed. read more

Solid restaurant, prices are slightly high but the place is a little upscale so expected. Food quality seems higher than average, had the shrimp and grits, shrimp were perfectly grilled with a bit of kick and spot on seasoning. Grits were cooked just right, not too mushy not too firm, with a perfectly balanced infusion of cheese and rich creamy sauce. They have some classic 40s/50s/60s music playing at a reasonable volume so you can talk. Lighting could be a little better, it's overall a little bit too dark with bright spots of light so you get a lot of hard shadows, but other than that the interior is nice with a good ambiance. Service was very courteous and helpful. Will come back again at some point to try their steaks out. read more

Saw 3 presumed employees within 7 steps of me, not even an acknowledgment, but one got up and walked the opposite direction. Hey, no problem I'm patient.... She'll return and I'll get a whiskey drink and oysters SOON. Nope! Waited as long as I should've then turned to the wall to read all of raving articles and awards ( from days gone by) Still nothing. I decided to stop anyways because there were a few cars in the lot. This is a hidden gem! The chef has been here 24 Years, they hand cut their steaks and make their own burgers.
