The woman on the phone was very nice and sympathetic to our situation. When we arrived, there was someone there to greet us and tell us the history of the house, and a short tour. She showed us to our room and offered to help us with our bags. The house is so beautiful down to the last details. Very quiet and peaceful. The bed was so comfortable, I sank in when I layed down, it was great. Sheets were super soft, however polyester, so it was hard to keep cool at night, as they didn't breathe. Breakfast was served at 9 am, a plated breakfast at individual tables. It was nice, that way I could just have a semi private breakfast with my husband. We will definitely stay again! I stayed in a 'rustic' site and had the area all to myself but I could have stayed at a tent site that had power and water or rented an RV that is permanently on site or even brought my own camper or RV. This place is private though- so they get to set some rules- like only women who are over the age of 18. I must say... if that describes you... then do yourself a favor and camp here! 99% of the women that I met were seasonal campers (they are there pretty often and have been for years). Usually camping is relaxing- although labor intense. This trip was so much fun in addition to relaxing. Some weekends they have events. On the weekend that I stayed they had outdoor karaoke one afternoon. It was a hoot! I'm already planning my next trip- making sure to bring along as many of my Chicago friends as possible. Alas, I called several times the night I was looking for a place to stay in this area and got a busy signal each time. I didn't want to make a wasted stop only to find out maybe they were closed for the season or something so I found another motel, The Northland, and had a very nice stay there for the night.
