This was such a cute place! We stayed two nights in the signature suite. It had a soaking tub and a sauna. The whole place was so historic and well kept. The hosts were kind and attentive and so friendly. We loved the look and feel and it was a great stay. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. My husband and I frequent B & B's on the regular, and I must say this one was wonderful. We booked over the phone, last minute, for our anniversary, as our previous reservation fell through. The woman on the phone was very nice and sympathetic to our situation. When we arrived, there was someone there to greet us and tell us the history of the house, and a short tour. She showed us to our room and offered to help us with our bags. The house is so beautiful down to the last details. Very quiet and peaceful. The bed was so comfortable, I sank in when I layed down, it was great. Sheets were super soft, however polyester, so it was hard to keep cool at night, as they didn't breathe. Breakfast was served at 9 am, a plated breakfast at individual tables. It was nice, that way I could just have a semi private breakfast with my husband. We will definitely stay again! This B&B was so beautiful! The owner and staff were very knowledgeable about the house and it's history. The bed was the comfiest thing I've ever slept on! The jacuzzi was amazing; filled the whole thing up without running out of hot water. I love that you have your own bathroom in your room. I had mentioned in my reservation that I was pregnant and we were celebrating our anniversary, and they bought us a cake! So thoughtful! My wife and I stayed at the Webster House Bed and Breakfast this weekend - November 5-7, 2021. It was such an all-around pleasant experience. Debbie greeted us warmly and gave us a tour throughout the house. She gave us a brief but exciting history of the house. She recommended the best restaurants in the area, and we tried a couple. We stayed in the Webster Room, and it was spacious and met our needs. The breakfast food and service were terrific. We ate in our room one morning and in the dining area the following day. One of the highlights of our stay was the in-room massages--such a pleasure. My wife and I are already thinking about taking our next visit to Bay City and The Webster House Bed and Breakfast. This was a terrific easy getaway for us. We were concerned about covid, stayed on a Monday. The place was huge, mostly unoccupied (Monday). Staff wears masks. We got takeout and ate in the lovely little garden for dinner, by ourselves, but with plates, cutlery, and a glass of wine from the hosts. I personally wouldn't feel comfortable eating in their shared dining area, it feels a bit close (though we didn't actually see anyone eating there). I feel like most B&B rooms are small by modern standards -- this one has quite large rooms, some with awesome big tubs. The hosts were super kind and left a birthday cake for the occasion too. The city and waterfront are really beautiful to walk, and there are many spectacular buildings in the neighborhood to see too. We took a walk and a drive through Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge on our way home. read more

My wife and I stayed one night here for our first anniversary and it could not have been better. We stayed in the Miss Yunji room. The accommodations were extensive and the self check-in was easy. Parking was easy, the living rooms were beautifully furnished, the grounds outside were peaceful and manicured, and our room was comfortable and clean. We loved all the little extras thrown in to make us feel so welcome. Everything was thought out, everything was ready for us, we needed absolutely nothing. When we came down in the morning, breakfast was served on time and it was hot and delicious. The people who served us were very attentive and helpful. All in all, if we visited Bay City again, we wouldn't look elsewhere for somewhere to stay. The Webster helped us make a great memory on our anniversary. read more

We were lucky enough to stay here 1 night and had the entire house to ourselves. I'm sure that doesn't happen to often even during covid. Upon arrival, we were greeted, from a distance, by the inn keeper. After being shown our room, the Keep Room, I asked for a tour of the entire house. Wow what a pleasure! The pictures do not do this place justice. The home is well kept. If staying in the Keep Room, there is no reason to venture out, not even for breakfast. We had ours served at the bar. The spa is absolutely relaxing and well worth the price. The music choices in the spa were great and relaxing to have. The breakfast is delicious. The Keurig coffee was plentiful. The video directions for the room are spot on. Our only trouble was figuring out the tv, but hey, who's there for the tv? We highly recommend the Keep Room at the Webster House. We stayed here for our 40th wedding anniversary. We ate out in downtown Bay City, then came back and had a couples massage which was wonderful. They were very aware of the pandemic and everyone wore masks and social distanced. Breakfast was great! I was just disappointed that they had microfiber sheets on the bed instead of 100% cotton. read more

What a gorgeous property! The hubs and I were on vacation in Michigan in June and stayed at the Webster House for one night. The house itself is impressive with tasteful furniture and decor. We felt like we were stepping back in time as we toured the residence with a complimentary glass of wine. Our guest room was comfortable and clean with a large private bath. Since we had been camping and biking the previous days, the innkeeper was nice enough to let us store our bikes in the garage. The best reason to stay at the Webster house: breakfast. As soon as we sat down in the dining room, we were greeted with coffee and mimosas. The meal was decadent, to say the least. We were served a creme parfait with fresh berries, then eggs with ham, bacon, and french toast. It was more than we could possibly finish, but we loved every bite. It's difficult to give the Webster House four stars instead of five, but it was a bit warm & stuffy (not a deal-breaker, but noticeable), and there isn't much to do within walking distance. We very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend this B&B to anyone passing through. read more

I took my wife here for a surprise getaway recently, and since we got home we've been telling everyone what a fantastic B&B this is. The house is amazing and Gail and Frank are wonderful and thoughtful hosts and cooks! And, since it's only about 2 hours from the Detroit area, it was a very easy and beautiful trip. The Webster house offers a number of packages, but since this was our first time at a B&B, I opted for the "Ultimate in Luxury," and it was totally worth it. We had an excellent couple's massage shortly after we arrived, wine and cheese in the early evening, a gift certificate to a very nice restaurant (walking distance from the Webster), breakfast in bed, and full + exclusive use of the spa (giant whirlpool, sauna, and two-headed shower). There wasn't much to do in Bay City, but we had fun in Frankenmuth and spent time in Kensington Park, which are easy drives from the Webster. All together, the trip with the picture of luxury and romance. Anyone looking for a romantic getaway with their special someone should give the Webster a try. read more

This home was amazingly beautiful! The staff were super friendly and the breakfasts were delicious both mornings. The small details and flourishes of the home were gorgeous. We stayed in The Magistrate room and loved the skylights. Pop, Keurig/coffee pods, and wine were available on each floor. There were also homemade cookies at the ready. This place was absolutely gorgeous and incredible. It beat my expectations for sure. We checked in, and Sandy, the Innkeeper, was there to greet us, show us around, and take us to our room. She gave us recommendations for local restaurants and let us know that she was serving wine and snacks in the parlor at 5pm. Also, Sandy had a birthday cake in our room for me, and it was delicious! She was the sweetest! My boyfriend and I were actually there from out of town celebrating my birthday, and we left for a bit to go skiiing. When we came back, everyone was in the parlor- more couples had shown up. We sat with everyone and played chess at the chess table and I had a glass of wine. We went to Tavern 101 for dinner and returned to our room and relaxed. We stayed in the third floor Webster Room specifically, which had a TV with Netflix, very comfortable robes, a bathroom with a shower, a cute leather journal on the nightstand, a comfy bed with the softest sheets you'll ever feel, and a hot tub with jets! And every floor had a Keurig machine. Of course, we had breakfast in bed the next morning, which was yummy, and I purchased a Webster House mug. The service there was outstanding- both Sandy and the owner, Debbie, are very sweet ladies. Everyone was nice, the house itself is gorgeous and cozy, and it's in the perfect location for Downtown. Next time we are in Bay City, we'd love to stay here again! read more

Walking a few blocks from downtown Bay City, one sees numerous older homes, some of which have been restored, and some are badly in need of work. The Webster house is thankfully one of the former, it has been beautifully restored while preserving its history and its Victorian charm. Even better, The Webster house is an excellent bed and breakfast with beautiful rooms, friendly hosts, and delicious meals. Breakfasts are typically two or three courses, reasonably but satisfyingly portioned, and universally delicious. Coffee, tea, and juices are provided, as is sparkling wine for mimosas. They do an evening wine and cheese in the common area, which includes other snacks and appetizers as well. The rooms and common areas are always very clean, and even though the grounds are fairly small there is a pleasant sitting area in the back yard with flowers and an herb garden. The entire property is well landscaped, with a beautiful lawn and flowers lining the walkway to the main entrance. There is a jacuzzi and sauna area in the basement, which is available to guests for an additional fee. You can also schedule a massage on-site, which I arranged for my wife, and she enjoyed it immensely. Anyone looking for an extremely nice bed and breakfast anywhere near Bay City would do well to make a reservation at the Webster house. I took my wife there to get away for our anniversary, and we had a wonderful time. We would definitely consider staying at the Webster house again. read more
