She administered his shots, checked his appetite and water consumption, and at one point he gave her a scare because he seemed very lethargic. She rushed him to the vet and notified me immediately. She called again later to say he was ok and sent photos throughout my time away to reassure me he was doing well. Unfortunately, we ended up losing him that day, but I've wanted to come back and leave a review because of how much the compassion we received meant to us. The veterinarian took the time to explain to us what had happened and reassured us that this truly was a freak accident. She explained that even if Gerald had already been inside the hospital when it happened, there would have been nothing they could have done to save him. As heartbreaking as that was to hear, having that explanation gave us some much-needed closure and helped us understand that there wasn't something more we could have done differently. Gerald wasn't just a bird to us. He was part of our family, had a huge personality, and was incredibly loved. Losing him so suddenly was devastating. Throughout everything, we felt like the staff understood how much he meant to us and treated both Gerald and our family with kindness and compassion during an incredibly emotional situation. Of course, I will always wish our visit could have had a different ending, but I am extremely grateful for the honesty, reassurance, and compassion we were shown that day. When you're experiencing one of the worst moments you can go through as a pet owner, the way you're treated stays with you. Thank you to the veterinarian and everyone at Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital who was there for Gerald and for us that day. We'll always miss our Gerald.

1/5 - Very disappointing experience…read more I brought my black swan, Pandora, to Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital because she was seriously ill and I was desperately trying to help her. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. The prices were very high, and despite her condition, Pandora was sent home without receiving the treatment or medication I expected. She passed away approximately two hours later. What made this experience even more upsetting was that afterward, the hospital contacted me and admitted that the sample they collected could not be processed because of the swab applicator they used. They asked me to bring Pandora back to collect another sample, but by then she had already died. I paid for this test expecting it to be collected correctly the first time, especially when dealing with a critically ill animal where time matters. I also had difficulty getting the test refunded. Initially, a credit was placed on my account, and I had to request that the money actually be returned to me. The facility itself is very nice, but based on my personal experience, I was extremely disappointed with the medical care, communication, prices, and handling of Pandora's case. When someone brings in a beloved animal in an emergency, they are trusting the veterinary team to take the situation seriously and provide the best possible care. For my experience, I would rate the care 0/10. I would not bring another one of my animals here.
