I've been taking my 4 year old goldendoodle to woofers for daycare, about once a week, boarding, training and grooming since she was a puppy. Full disclosure: I'm writing this review on behalf of my father, who isn't the best at using Yelp. Anyway, he brought his eight month old labradoodle in for a routine grooming. Admittedly she had some matting in her fur, but that shouldn't be an obstacle for a skilled groomer. At the very least they should have turned the dog away if it was too much for them to handle. To be honest if anything I'm overstating the level of matting to be fair to Woofers. I don't leave this review for any reason other than to share my father's experience and warn other dog owners. I'm getting a little long winded here, but in the grooming process the dog's ears were damaged/cut multiple times. When my dad picked her up he didn't immediately notice anything sans her mood being a little down, which is understandable for any dog in a new place. Upon getting her home he noticed that she wouldn't stop shaking her head, and after further review he noticed that she had blood coming from the tips of her ears. After a day of seeing if it would get better he took her to the vet, where it was confirmed that her ears were cut and a skin infection had developed. She has pretty significant edema in her ears now. She's absolutely miserable and continues to shake her ears, because well, she's a dog. After oral antibiotics she'll be good as new. My dad called to let the groomers know what happened with her ears, and they blamed it on the matting of her fur. They blamed cutting a dogs ears on her matting and offered up no apologies. In fact, they said the groomer has 20 years of experience. I'm not sure the name of the person he spoke with, because he didn't get it. He didn't really expect it to be an issue. He really just wanted them to know it happened and he was told "they'll let the owner know." A day passed and he never heard from anybody about it. It really does upset me that they don't want to gather more information on a situation where an animal was harmed. They didn't even offer up a simple apology. I absolutely wouldn't trust one of my two pups with these folks. read more

I was super anxious to have my dog groomed. He is a maltipoo and his fur was out of control. I was informed it would be a new groomer to the salon, Kristen. Which of course worried me more since he was in terrible condition. She was exceptional. There is not a single cut on him. I appreciate her patience and yet again pleased with Woofers in general! I have a 1 1/2 year old Golden Doodle who I was scared to get groomed for the longest time because I know their breed does not have the most cooperative hair. However, I finally took the chance and took my dog to Woofer's after the good things I have heard about their grooming. They were super open to looking at pictures beforehand of what I liked and didn't like. When I picked my dog up later that afternoon I was so happy to see that they did exactly what I asked! in the last week I was using Woofers, but their manager was extremely unprofessional and rude to me yesterday when I went to pick up the dogs. I had always asked that since I didn't know what time I would get back from my motility clinic since visits can be kind of long and it is a specialized clinic for a serious medical condition that is located at Wake Forest and you never know what the results would be or if further treatments would be needed if I could make it longer and hopefully make it to pick the dogs up the next day. Her staff was always fine with it and I had never had a problem before and they said it would be fine this time, too. So I got back yesterday and went to pick them up. When the front desk staff lady, who has always been pleasant, called her and told her Cappy and Quincy were ready to go, I hear her say into the phone, in an irritated voice, "They're supposed to be here until Friday." I just was thinking how rude that was and it things kind of awkward as we waited and then she comes out and tells me next time, I need to let them know exactly or whatever because they lost $140 due to me picking them up yesterday rather than speaking privately with her staff to see if there might be a reason why. I called after leaving and found out this is the manager. It's a shame because the rest of the people there are extremely nice, but this unprofessional, rude woman will never get any more of my business. When I tried to explain my situation, she immediately cut me off and went, "I understand." No ma'am, if you can eat food and have the luxury of having your doctors near you certainly don't understand. read more

I had a terrible (overpriced) experience. The grooming should have been an ordinary visit but this time my dog came home with what I would equate to razor burn and gouges all over multiple areas of her body. Her left ear was bleeding which I didn't notice until I got home. I will be making a visit to the vet tomorrow to evaluate the damage Woofers has caused. I only hope there is no infection. Very disappointed in the quality of work and sorry I subjected my poor baby to this mistreatment. She won't even let me touch her ears. I will not ever return. read more

We LOVE Woofers!!! My 2 year old male shichon is high-energy and hyper social, so Woofers doggie daycare is a MUST for us. Arnie goes 1-2 times a week for exercise and play time. He loves swimming in the zero entry pool, playing chase, and being loved on by Trish. Every morning he sits at the door waiting to see if he will get to jump in the car and go to doggie Disney Land. We have also used the Grooming services a few times and have been pleased. Finally, the staff are amazing, well trained, and passionate about the dogs in their care. read more

My dog food was recently affected by the recall of Diamond Pet Foods. I have a Schnoodle (who has a lot of skin allergies) and a Chihuahua (no allergies). Since I moved to SC last year, I have been buying my food in Raleigh, NC every time I visit family there. Well, I knew I wasn't planning a trip in the near future and I had to find somewhere to get food immediately. I went in to Woofers and was talking to either the manager or owner about my situation. She explained that her dog's food was also part of the recall and she pointed out a couple different brands that she recommended for me to try. She then went as far as giving me 7 different samples of two different brands to try in different flavors. So for the next week, I will be able to try the two brands and see if there is any reaction from my Schnoodle from any foods. I will definitely be back to purchase my food. I will also be trying out their grooming services soon as they are comparably priced and my Schnoodle needs to be cut; I will also bring my Chihuahua in for bathing and getting her nails clipped. All in all, they seemed very knowledgeable and I'm sure if I have any issues or concerns they will be able to meet my needs. Thank you, Dianne Tyler read more
