A similar Korean supermarket to Hmart except smaller and less outwardly clean, and much closer for those who live in the area They have the usual suspects in a typical market like Asian fruits and veggies, household items, meats, seafood, sushi, and frozen and prepared items. People seem to like their Korean fried chicken. They have a few different items in their bakery but seems to be less options than Hmart. Service is as to be expected in such a store, nothing outstanding and nothing distressing. It's not visible from the main street but very close to Shop Rite and McDonald's. Produce is always fresh! Not the friendliest workers, but they'll answer all your questions. They even have durian available :) other exotic fruits such as dragon fruit too! Are meats and seafood are always fresh. Beauty products and alcohol are also available at this market by the entrance. Perfect place to buy everything you need! This is a mini version of HMart. It has much of the same things but on a much smaller scale. The products on sale are a great find while products that are not on sale are priced much higher than other supermarkets. There's nothing that really stands out or any unique products but there are all the basic staples and the snacks I need. I happened to be in the area and was able to pick up a few things I needed without making a separate trip. I did notice that the aisles felt dim. A few lights were out in each aisle. It may have been intentional? There aren't too many shoppers on a weekend. I came on a Saturday and a Sunday afternoon and there were some shoppers but it felt sparse. read more

Woo-Ri Mart is dope! Great Korean supermarket. Love love love it so much. The prepared food vendor booths inside are all KILLER! Fresh dumpling vendor. Ramen! Korean Fried Chicken! Their produce selection is good and fresh and usually cheaper than it's American counterparts. So much kimchi. Many different ingredients "kimchied". Excellent! The selection of fish and meats is beyond the beyond. Awesome fun selection of Asian snacks etc etc. Super good. This place has it all and it is FUN! But not fun in a silly or gimmicky way. I have been buying instant noodles and ingredients for recipes here for about 7 years. I've bought chicken a couple of times from there and it was rancid just threw it out because I didn't want to go through the hassle. Happens with the pork also, most of the time it smells bad. I just bought almost $40 in fish and they were both rancid. One even a living parasite in it if you guys are going to charge top dollar for your fish, it should be super fresh with out question!!! Stay clear of this store it will make you sick. And if you try and return product they yell at you and say you miss handled the fish and that's why it smells and it's my fault. read more

Go for the Korean food!! Amazing prepared Korean food here! The food is "old school" style and it's very tasty. I saw a family making kimchi mondu and it's one of the best I've had. It felt like the small venders here are family owned rather than a company like other Korean grocery store. The bakery is on point and probably one of the best, in my opinion i the area. Woori Mart is a large Asian market. I like going here for produce, ramen, spices, and cuts of meat that are hard to find at a regular market. Got takeout from here and was impressed by the quality of the food. I ordered a Jja Jangmyun, Donkatsu, Kimchi Haemul Bokeum Bap, Haejang Guk, and Bulgogi Dup Bap. Pretty much all of them were good. My favorites were the Kimchi Haemul Bokeum Bap and Haejang Guk. My hubby took me here to see where he got me some red bean frozen dessert shaped like a fish. The selection of items was extensive and the place seemed very clean. The prices on the other hand were too high for me. Did a walk through with a tote bag because NJ does not give you bags and we left without purchasing anything. read more

It was smaller in size than the H mart located in Paramus. My comparison- Woori has a couple of different instant noodles that Hmart does not carry. They both offer some hot food items. Prices are similar. I just wouldn't go back. Woori also has a cold cut station contain boars head which Hmart does not. read more

Today my wife attempted to return Cod Fish. She was on line behind another who happened to be returning fish and shrimp. The cashier returned the lady's money and then pointed my wife to another register. The other cashier lady saw my wife coming over and angrily pointed at a sign that said no returns. My wife said that the fish was not good and wanted a refund. The cashier angrily grabbed the fish and threw the bag back to her. My wife said that she was not angry and only wanted a refund. The cashiier threw a receipt toward her on the register for my wife to sign. The cashier threw the bag toward my wife on the register. My wife then left the bag and left the store. This is her third time returning fish to this store. This is our first time submitting a review. We live in Northvale and want to support local stores but this type of behavior is not acceptable. read more

BE WARE !! I can't believe they sell this kind of rotten fish. It's in the package and ?frozen. I was not able to smell anything bad from outside. Although when I open the package, it was little suspicious. When I cooked it in the frying pan, the stinky smell filled my entire house. It was salted mackerel. I really like this Korean super market! The location is easy to find and has lots of parking (and the parking lot has no potholes which is a plus haha). When I go there I like to get some spicy fried chicken from Woori Chicken. They are similar to bonchon but have a slightly thicker crunch and more tasty sauce. They are better than bonchon in my opinion! I also liked the Mandoo spot next to Woori Chicken. I got an order for leek and steak dumpling which was fresh and delicious. The selection of groceries is very well organized and has lots of variety. The frozen section has lots of sales on tasty items like fish cakes and dumplings. The cashiers are friendly too. Overall a very pleasing shopping experience and I would go to Woori mart over H mart anyday! read more

Great place for Korean /Asian groceries. The vegetables are reasonably priced. I check out new snacks and sweets to try. But I mainly go monthly to restock pantry staples : sauces, spices, noodles, sushi supplies, furikake, kimchi, etc. Their frozen section always has a large variety of gyoza, dumplings, steam buns etc which are great snacks or quick meals for my family. I can always find some good buys when i go. Even when I go with a shopping list of about 6 items and end up leaving with 2 -3 bags. It's far closer to me than Mitsuwa and Hmart. And their prices are comparable if not lower on some items. And yes the on-site chimaek to is so good, when they are open.... read more

Simply love it! Highly recommend! The supermarket is fresh, carries products ranging from fresh fruits (love the white peach), raw seafood (yet have to try but looks fresh), cooked food (bonchon and pig feet were tasty) and most importantly THE PRICE IS RIGHT. This place compares with H Mart at Fort Lee is much cheaper and more quality. The food court is lovely too. We had the bimbimbap and spicy beef soup. Bimbimbap: enormous amount of vegetables however only a spoonful of ground meat. If you love meat don't order this. Spicy beef soup: tolerable spicy level and I don't normally eat kimchi nor spicy food so I have a low tolerance. Massive amount of shredded beef and too much scallion. The Woori moved locations and its really just 500 yards across the street but in an even bigger building so its awesome! Plus the parking is much less congested. Anyway, now this place is massive, and they have a ton of ready to eat and take home food too, almost like a food court in the mall. Figure all their stock of items has now tripled and the selection of items doubled. So much fresh fish, and freeze dried squid which i would be happy to never see again in my life, but oh! samples galore everytime you turn a corner!! If you look too white tho and get some snarky woman she will ignore you. Guess what Kim Lee, I like seaweed snacks too!!!!! This place is where its at for cheap items and i can get my supplies to make some killer chinese, japanese and korean dishes. I wish I had one closer to home! read more

If you use their checkout you'll be suspected of stealing even if you're with your child. They won't help you check out or bag the items but they'll stop you to question whether you paid or not. Don't go unless you want to have to prove yourself innocent from shoplifting in front of your child and/or others. 2 Stars for the convenience of location, and carrying the products I love. This place really needs to improve their customer service. I also believe they overcharge on their fish, and lie about the products. Their obviously farm-raised salmon was labeled as "wild caught" and marked up at a premium price. Rude rude rude!!! Very uncomfortable experience. It was my first time shopping here and I was the only one standing by the cashier. I paused and looked to my right contemplating if I should get a last minute item and a man was walking towards the line and the cashier waved him over. I moved my cart to begin putting items on the belt and she yelled at me to get in line. I asked her what line and she ignored me to take the gentleman who came after me. I went to approach the second cashier and at this time from far again another lady was walking towards us and she said whoever was here first can go next. I'm completely miffed at this point because I am clearly right there and the lady is walking from far away so how is it not clear who is next ? I would have dropped the groceries and walked out if I didn't need to get fruit for my toddler. I come here a lot for their seafood selection! They have a lot to choose from and their prices are pretty good. It's one of the few places you can purchase a fresh whole octopus. You could go to fairway but you would pay 2x more! It is also a great place to get a bite to eat! They have a few decent restaurants to choose from! read more

A smaller scale, low key alternative to H Mart. As you enter, there are a few kiosks selling food to be consumed on the spot, which did not look all that appealing at 4 p.m. on a Saturday. Behind them there are counters for kimchi, Korean soups and stews, pork belly, and red bean filled pancakes molded into the shape of fish. These are the opening notes to a clean, well ordered supermarket. The produce section is well priced, and most items were appealing. A great price on Honey Crisp apples, and some of the best looking Fujis I've ever seen. Very good service from the nice lady in the fish department, who carefully wrapped our shrimp and swordfish. The meat department seemed somewhat limited, we picked up some thin cut short ribs and cornish hens. If you are looking for gochujang, sesame oil, rice wine, and vinegars for Korean cooking you will find them here. All the bagged Korean snacks. There's also a reasonable selection of Western groceries and dry goods. I found Bob's Red Mill rye flour here, something most regular supermarkets seem to be out of these days. It's like they curate the products/brands that are not desirable. Stay away from this place. Used to be really fresh and high quality when they were smaller at the Northvale starbucks plaza location. The market is great, Woori Chicken concession is not. Now, this is Woori Chicken, Bonchon was much better. Not great chicken legs, 30-minute wait and not so friendly. All the Koreans could order and pay later, I had to pay upfront. The chicken was just almost passable, it was way too dry and the Soy Garlic sauce was weak. I ordered extra sauce but they were not interested in my request. It's better to drive to Fort Lee and get the good stuff. read more

Solid 4 stars. The once hidden gem in the Northvale plaza finally has a large enough venue for all its goodies. It feels weird reviewing a supermarket, but there's also Bon Chon Chicken and sushi vendors in the front, that makes it feel like more than a supermarket. I came here on Saturday and stocked up on some daikon, bitter melon, and bok choy for a stir fry. I'll admit that I do most of my bulk shopping at ShopRite across the street, but the produce here is always worth an extra stop. Ever since they moved and expanded to this behind Shop Rite location, I have been going to the Northvale ShopRite considerably less. I love getting the fresh vegetables here. They aren't super super fresh but they are varied with some of the more popular Asian types that you can't find at shoprite like Chinese broccoli. The fruits and vegetables are okay. Not too bad but nothing to write extra about so I'll stop with that now. The seafood however is the bomb. I love getting the halibut when they first opened as it was very well priced but has since gone up. I still get it from time to time. I get the shrimp here as well as the lobster and recently the Dungeness crab. The fishmongers here are just very friendly. A big reason that prompted me to write this is the deli department. I had just started buying my deli here recently. It is pretty much all Boars Head at reasonable prices. I remember earlier in the week (the Monday before the nonBlizzard of 2015) and stopping at Fairway in Nanuet for something else and saw how crazy busy its deli was. My average wait time at Woori Mart's deli has been like 2 minutes, in and out. Give it a try.
