I've been shopping at another similar market that carries a lot of items I need; but H Mart has more items and great selections that were amazing to find when I could not in other places. My first time in this store, and my first time in any H-Mart, I'll say I was quite impressed. Tonight I made Tofu Green Curry with Chinese eggplant, squash, snow peas, baby corn (the freshest and most delicious ever!) and oyster mushrooms. All from this store. It tasted like you'd get it at some fancy place in Manhattan. I'm obsessed with this store! Mistake mushrooms are $30 everywhere, they sell them for $4.49.... The prices are amazing!!! This H mart is located in a plaza in Little Ferry. Really convenient. Big parking lot. There are restaurants and other shops next to it. Food court is packed with great Korean Japanese food. Grocery is fresh. I love to get fruit vegetables and fish from H mart. Consistent quality overall. It's a big supermarket. I don't feel crowded or any elbow to elbow action. I like Hmart...However my Korean Markets in CA are better with more selection and hot foods. The Kim chi section is just a handful and most are ok Korean and thankfully they vary Jongaa which is the best. Still the meats section is vast and solid. Just selection is lacking it looks like a huge selection but it is just good not great. This one is bigger than the Paramus one and is not worth going to unless you are fooled by the larger size...That is the difference. I actually like the one in Paramus better since u won't be let down by selection. Service is not there. Everyone just feigns to be busy or just giggling and laughing...Most are not Korean. My Korean markets in CA are Korean and hold a higher level of customer service efficacy. So another mark off...The manager really should police the employees for meet and greet...also should check that they are just not being lazy. It stood out and was a turn off. Ok selection for its size and oh yeah, they do not sell Korean alcohol...What a bust on that. One of the new-ish locations of H Mart in NJ. They are always clean and organized. Their produce are always fresh, I love to get vegetables from this location. They have pretty much all kinds of veggies that any Asian person would want and need, or anyone who cooks Asian dishes. That goes for other products like dried good, frozen, and fresh products. The prices are fair and the quality is good. The staffs are polite and I appreciate the fact that they have rewards system. They have food court inside, along other stores and bakery. My favorite H Mart in Bergen county. This review is purely for the supermarket and not the attached food court since those are operated by different vendors. Parking lot is huge and if you don't need to park near the entrance, you should always be able to get a spot. I love the updated surroundings and it's always clean and modern. Most of the Asian vegetables have a high turnover so you can get fresh veggies. I wish they carry more organic food and salad kits so I can do all my shopping in one spot. In the dry goods section, they sometimes run out of stock and don't restock as quickly. As expected, H Mart is a great place to buy Korean brands. Hoping they can carry more variety of Southeast Asian/Chinese. They usually have discounts running on frozen dumplings every week. If they can create a corner and stock viral Korean products or have roasted sweet potatoes for purchase, that would be great. read more

This H-Mart opened in December 2020 so it is relatively new. This Korean grocery store is clean, beautifully laid out, and has dried and fresh noodles, fresh vegetables, nice fun snacks, plenty of household items, and impressive seafood and meat departments. Not only do they offer a nice selection of seafood and meats, but neither of the departments also had that funky odor to them. I looked at the fish's eyes and they were all clear and bright. Not a single one had cloudy eyes, which tells me they handle their seafood correctly. They also have a very nice but small food court. This was a tough review to write since I don't usually write bad reviews. I bought few items which added up to $20.92, and I payed with $50 bill. But for some reason, the change was $10 short. I checked with the receipt and they registered my payment as $40. I confronted the same cashier, but seems she didn't seem to understand me since they were all Spanish workers. Fortunately, another staff intervened and managed to fix things by giving me the missing $10. I don't know if that cashier was illiterate or made a honest mistake but I don't know if I'll ever come back to this same H-Mart ever again since this was my local store. Where's the bulgogi beef!!! I came to H-mart specifically to have lunch at their food court, and I chose "Sang's Kitchen." I was craving the Bulgogi meal box, because I wanted to try out their version of the marinated Asian style beef. Unfortunately, the picture perfect meal lacked the main item, bulgogi. It was a big size meal with lots of side items, including miso soup, but I believe I might have had 5 tiny strips of beef. Very disappointed with the lack of meat. If you look at the pictures the veggies overpowered the main entree. Other than the bulgogi issue, the meal had lots of flavors. Cooked to order. And, for the price you are paying you are getting a lot for your buck. I am just upset that they skimped out on the main menu item...the beef!!! Newly renovated bldg!!! The previous store was definitely runned down after years of operation and they finally reopened brand new in another bldg up after being closed for a year. This Hmart moved into a new development bldg located at the same plaza and everything is sparkling inside! I Highly recommend visiting for an endless possibility of fresh seafood, poultry,produce, cooked food, beverages, home goods, SNACKs, etc. hopefully they will expand their food court too once the rest of the building is fully renovated. The store layout has a good flow throughout. However, their seafood area is narrow, poorly designed and lots of human traffic. I felt like I was going to brush against some seafood as I tried to walk past another person. Please stock up on the Tiger Sugar bobas popsicles, they were all sold out when I visited on 12/31... their grand opening on 12/23/20. But better yet, I am most excited about an actual Tiger Sugar shop opening up for fresh boba drinks :) The shop is NOT open yet, but definitely something to look forward to. Finally paid this H Mart a visit (Sat 4/10/21) at around 9:30 AM. They open at 9 AM so there wasn't much people there, which was very nice. I'm sure they get packed in the afternoon though. According to my husband, this H Mart has always been here (which I never knew about) but they just recently renovated. It was the best H Mart shopping experience I've ever had. Everything is new so it feels really clean. The aisles also seem wider than most other H Marts. Just like its other locations, they offer hand sanitizer and disposable gloves at the entrance. The meat quality is the same H Mart quality that we know and love. Certain things are pricey but if you happen to go when there's a good sale, you can get things for cheap. Usually, I'll stock up during the sale, and just keep the meat in the freezer until I'm ready to use it. This will definitely be my new go-to H Mart! This new H Mart location opened up in December, it's brand new and in that way it's nice, although the selection here for fruits and vegetables seem smaller than some of their other locations. If nothing else the aisles are a little bit tighter and a lot of the food is prepackaged or sealed and plastic wrap, making it harder to check and change out items that aren't as fresh. there's a nice big food court up front with at least five or six different options for people to try, and a bakery and a couple other small shops. Most of the plaza is empty for now. Interestingly enough they do have fewer options for some of the kimchi than the one I go to over on Ridgedale, but it is convenient. And it didn't seem to have some of the deals that were at the other shop, like getting a whole box of Napa cabbage for eight bucks if you buy $60 worth of groceries. Branded new H Mart with that new store smell and more.... As you enter, the layout and design has clearly wider and more open than some other H Mart locations in Bergen County in the Ridgefields, Fort Lee and a little father out in Paramus. This new location has Tous les Jours which is the cafe chain which located in most new H marts. With the current pandemic, it is difficult to enjoy the food court which H Mart has created but there is a ramen location, Menya Sandaime and Sang's kitchen. We did notice that there were still a few people eating at the indoor eating area but I look forward to enjoying the food court in the future. This H Mart has huge aisles which is still impressive to their other locations because I understand the need to maximize space but this location seems very well designed. The H Mart country style Kimichi is always a good choice. They always have great prices on all Asian specialty food items. They has ice cream, Korean ice cream, and Japanese ice cream which was impressive. There seems to be more of a variety across pan-Asian products instead of a default to most Korean items which is very nice to see. After visiting many different H Marts in New Jersey and New York, I am glad to see this new addition to the H Mart universe! I look forward to coming back again. Finally, we bought a green tea cake from Tous Les Jours in New Year's Eve and it was great. We also received a New Year's gift of a free Tous Lea Jours coffee mug! Nice perk there! read more

My first visit and mind was blown by their selection of meats, frozen goodies, fresh produce, fish , seafood, groceries and everything in between. The staff takes your temp as you enter, provide hand sanitizer and gloves to wear while shopping. I couldn't smell any fish smells even though I was surrounded by live crabs , lobsters , fish in tanks, huge live Dungeness Crabs in tanks. Giant clams (Geoduck) I have only ever seen on "Chopped" tv show. The prices were very reasonable. Everything fresh and the place was so clean! I was excited to come to this location which is less than 10 mins away from Costco. It's newly renovated and had a grand opening last month. There was no line going in. Temperature was checked and disposable gloves were available to those who wanted them. I was honestly expecting the supermarket to be a lot more roomy and spacious based on the photos but I found it super crowded. It was hard to go through certain isles with shopping carts because it was just packed on a Sunday afternoon. Food court was open but was also packed with people dining in (not sure about social distancing and the limited capacity followed). My go to H Hart is in Ridgefield which recently had increased its footage. Loved the food court there way more as it's not as crowded and there are more food options. I did like about the abundance of food items found at this location that aren't available at others and prices seem to be slightly better here. Maybe that's because there are many promotions. The fresh produce here isn't as great as other locations though. Overall, it's probably a more convenient location for many but I will stick to my other go-to location for my weekly grocery shopping trip. read more

Been to the "new" HMart twice now. Used to go to the previous location around back. This is a definite upgrade. Like other hmarts, they have a good variety of produce and great meat and seafood departments. Pricey indeed. But you get quality. The food court they have looks to be pretty poppin. I like trying new things, and it doesn't matter if I don't like it too much, all that matters is that I tried something different, something from other cultures. It's a learning experience and it's fun trying new flavors of things! I semi-lost my mind but not really! Found some good bargains on stuff like Sesame Oil, which I absolutely love when I cook Asian food. They sell expired food, and it actually happened couple times to us so watch out for the exp date when buy food there. That aside the store manager is extremely rude and will get very angry if you try to return electronic stuff, they don't follow the Hmart policy at all, even if a product is unused and in its original package and within the return period, they'll deny it right away, won't take a look inside the box, or don't care rather. And they will find a way to deny it if you explain.And if you try to talk to a store boss apparently he will "respect" whatever store manager say and shortly after they'll be very impatient and just...walk away... read more

Thus is defiantly my new go to hmart. Tiger sugar isn't open yet and they don't have the new espresso or the drinkable mochi items on display yet either, but I'm so excited for it to open!!! They have chapsal trading cakes!!! And several selections of Chinese, Japanese and Korean ice cream. Who would have thought that the small old Hmart here would ever turn into a fully renovated grocery store fused mall? I never thought it would open, at least during a pandemic or days before Christmas. But here it is in its final form! I am not sure if they are still doing this, but they were giving out free items upon signing up for a rewards card. Take advantage of it while you can :) Interior wise, it's comparable to the other Hmart in Paramus. Nevertheless, the exterior will have you questioning if you are at Hmart or a party venue because it's aesthetically cool. The prices have gone up unlike how they were in the previous installation. The game-changer perhaps isn't the actual supermarket, it is the Tiger Sugar, Daegu Chicken, and Menya Sandaime all in one place. Out of all places, I would not expect for NJ's first Tiger Sugar location to be in the small town of Little Ferry. Like other Hmarts, they have a cute bakery and beauty store. They also seemed to have fit in a cute store with all sorts of caricature merchandise (similar to Line Friends or Kakao Friends) consisting of stationery, home goods, and whatever cute memorabilia you can dream of. It's also worth mentioning that they seem to carry other select food products other Hmarts don't have, such as frozen mille crepe cakes and specific Japanese ice cream products that I have yet to see at Mitsuwa. Went here during the grand re-opening. They generally did a good job at enforcing Covid precautions - one way in/one way out, cleaning shopping carts prior to handing them off to customers, taking temps, and limiting how many people entered. They were very well staffed and shelves were fully stocked. Very similar in feel to the Paramus location, but prices seemed lower (opening day discounts maybe?). They also have a lot more selections than any of the other locations I've been to. Additionally, they have the food hall which I have yet to explore. Korean fried chicken, a bakery, and a ramen shop were the ones I noticed, but there's a few more. Helpful hint: Cart ramps are located only by the entrances on either side of the building which aren't really near where the majority of the parking is. Extremely disappointed and disgusted at the kimbap. I bought the vegetable and tuna kimbap yesterday and it already developed mold the next day The supermarket however was good. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Well maintained seafood and meat ingredients. Snack and sauce selections was huge. Some of the food court stands were amazing with fresh ingredients. This H Mart has come a longgggg way from what it was 10 years ago. Still has some ways to go, but bravo to whoever was involved to make it what it is today. Aside from groceries, you can also stop by food court with a variety of Korean meals and dishes, pastries from Tous les Jous, boba tea from Tiger Sugar, cosmetics, DAISO (which is Japanese, still a great addition, cheap soju bottles from liquor store, AND Cast Iron Pot?!?! There are some hits/misses from the food court - my hits though were the Mul Naengmyeon from U Chun and the Dae Gu fried chicken. Also it's just amazing that the grocery even gives you some free snacks as you're leaving. I can really spend a whole day here if needed! read more

I really like this spot. Mind you, I'm not into any of the little eateries it has other than to pick up some bubble tea or a nice green tea cake at Tous Les Jours. But if you're looking for a convenient Asian grocery store with decent prices, this is the one. Be aware that while initially 99 Ranch in Hackensack offered better prices, I have found this to no longer be the case. Whether Little Ferry, Paramus, or of course Ridgefield Park, H-Mart is my favorite general Asian market, with Mitsuwa for certain specifics and the better eateries. read more
