I started to play squash here when I was in elementary school and since graduating from college…read morewhere I also played squash at the varsity level, I've come back. I live in Newton and to come here, it's a 35 min drive one way. Yes, it's a long drive but here are the reasons why it's ALWAYS worth the drive: 1. Coaching staff- Paul Ansdell is the head coach, and I have known him for a very long time. Not only is he a hilarious person and always makes people laugh, but he is extremely nice and really has a passion for squash and coaching. There are other coaching staff as well, and they are all great people. He really makes the club run smoothly. 2. The people! I believe the members really make up the club. Out of all the clubs I've played at around in Boston, the people here are fantastic. Always in good spirits, the members of the club have always been so nice to me and we've had a few "outside the club" gatherings where we get together hang out. Everyone has always pleasure to be around 3. Now the thing that REALLY sets apart this club from other ones is that there are special events that Paul sets up every year. There's a summer team tournament, where you sign up and Paul organizes a team based on skill levels, and then you play each other over the week. But, everyone needs to bring food in so then it becomes a big potluck. Everyone obviously comes and plays squash, but the TRUE highlight is the amazing food that people bring in. There are other events throughout the year, but you'll have to come to the club and find out what those events are yourself =) So if you're in the area and are at the LEAST bit interested in squash, you should definitely come and check this place out. I guarantee you'll have a great experience here due to the staff and people!
