Joseph immediately scheduled me for Sunday, August 31st, which was perfect. I was so relieved. Then I asked him if he had any access to a sofa that was maybe being disposed of by another client. Joseph called me immediately and put me in touch with a woman who wanted to get rid of a pretty decent sofa. He set this up and agreed to transfer it for a small fee. On top of being on time, he and his buddy loaded me up in less then an hour. I met them at the new apartment and they brought everything up. The couch was last and there were some really tense moments when we thought it wouldn't fit in the doorway. But they somehow, miraculously got the sofa through the door. I was so incredibly relieved and thankful I hired these guys. They were polite, neat, on time and on task. There was no upcharging me for anything, the price was a flat fee and they stuck to it. I would use this service again in a heartbeat. Joseph says he also transfers new furniture from a store and helps assemble it for a small fee (that's pretty darn reasonable). I hope to get a new dresser and maybe a small kitchen table and will definitely touch base with this moving service to get these items delivered and set up.

This was our first project with Lee and Finest Fix…read more I sent out a quote request via Yelp Projects and Lee got back to me on the same day with their rate of $95/hr + materials. I inquired on how long the job would take based on pictures I sent over, and he replied "an hour max, and it will probably be a couple screws and glue" Communication was OK overall. Lee contacted me on a Monday and asked for the address, email and phone number and asked about my availability for the remainder of the week. I didn't receive a response to my reply, so I had to follow up the next day. We were able to get the job scheduled for the same Friday and his team came to complete the project utilizing a lockbox we provided. I didn't receive any updates during the job, which probably would have helped the surprise of the invoice I later received that was $232.35 when I was expecting something closer to $100 based on our first conversation. Lee did promptly reply and let me know that they thought they would hit a stud but since there was nothing, the job was more complicated as they had to create the support. Overall, still a solid experience and I would still consider using Lee and Finest Fix in the future.

This is the latter of those two scenarios. Home Hero came to install curtains, a TV and a few rods and the first person they sent out wasn't quite able to finish the job due to the fact that we lived in a high rise and the studs were actually made from impenetrable steel (Who knew!). We had a few smaller issues with the work as well. None of it irreparable but we were left dissatisfied enough to let Home Hero know. They IMMEDIATELY reached out to us and asked how they could make it right and went through great effort to do just that. They sent a second person back out and finished the job. I was incredibly impressed with Pete (The owner, I gather) and his team's unquestioning devotion to making sure our work was finished and to our standards. Things go wrong on jobs. It just happens. And that's going to happen with ANYONE who comes into your home in a handyman type capacity. But after working with Home Hero's, it should be appreciated that not every contractor will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the work, and go back in and correct it if you're not. Thanks again to the two handymen at HH as well as Pete and Lea back at the office.

More like the Home Nightmare. I hired them to re-caulk two showers and repair one kitchen cabinet…read moredrawer. They asked me not to use the showers 48 hours in advance, so I did. On the day of the appointment, I waited around until 5pm, when I called to confirm they were still coming. They didn't answer, but called me back about 30 min later to say that there was a mix-up and that they weren't coming. To their credit, they did come the next day, but the technician was very confused about what to caulk in my showers. We watched a youtube video together, then he caulked the showers. I was very nervous at this point, but trusted him. Of course, after waiting 24 more hours to use the showers (and now almost a week of showering at the gym), I find that the shower leaks!!! I contacted the company and they promised to look at it when the drawer technician comes out. Well, that appointment got rescheduled 2 times. I was getting pretty fed up and asked them to commit to a time. That's when Pete, the manager, tells me via email that they cannot ensure that a shower won't leak after they caulk it. At this point, I had no confidence in this company and asked for a refund for the one shower and to cancel the drawer repair. They refunded me $75 out $200 wished me luck disputing the remainder with my credit card company. A total waste of my time and honestly the worst customer service I've experienced in Philly (and that's saying a lot!).

The stairs have two turn landings. I was impressed how they were so careful not touch or bang the walls. As they walked in and out of our home multiple times I also noticed how they always paused at the outside entrance to wipe their shoes on our doormat. Lastly, I had called around to a number of their competitors and received a higher cost for the job. I found their charge to be very fair. I would highly recommend this company.
