The views are amazing both on the way up and back down. It's a paved trail so if you were looking for a ADA friendly hike this would be it! It is also a pet friendly trail. (Saw a few dogs walking). There's a restroom and relatively nice size parking lot. I recommend going early because the beach is so nice that the parking lot fills up fast. There's really nice hiking trails.

Parking is $7 for 3 hours-machines are near the restrooms. Be sure to place your receipt in your car- make sure it's visible. There's a walking/hiking trail alongside the perimeter. Sadly came across a dead bird and seal that were on the beach. Lots of ocean organisms on the beach as well. Tis the season with the high winds, and also part of the cycle of life. I didn't know the Pacifica Pier was known for crabbing and fishing. We came here for a "brisk walk" on an exceptionally warm Spring day. It was in the high 80's to low 90's in most of the Bay Area. Out in Pacifica it was a perfect day! NO FOG, nice cool breeze and a pleasant 70° I didn't even attempt to look for parking around the pier. I drove through downtown and found a spot in the neighborhood, about 5 minute walk from the Pier. There were a good amount of people out an about. Soooo many folks on the pier; crabbing and fishing. For good reason: "Pacifica is home to one of the best fishing piers in the state. Because of the number and quality of the fish caught off Pacifica's shores, the pier has earned a number one ranking among anglers in the Bay Area. Although fishing can be good year round, many consider the summer months to be the best when salmon and striped bass can be caught. Rock the Goat…read more Smallish beach located inside Sonoma Coast State Park that's known for its eponymous rock formation and for being in the cult classic film "The Goonies." The Good: * Several small parking lots * Picnic tables * Restroom in the parking lot * Free to visit * There's a colony of harbor seals that reside here, and you can see the babies during pupping season from March - August. The Meh: * No dogs allowed at this beach due to the seals. The Ugly: * Not recommended for swimming due to sneaker waves and strong rip currents. * As usual, Yelp's location is absurdly wrong, and the mods are asleep at the wheel. Big shock, eh? If you want to get here, put 9528 Goat Rock Rd, Jenner, CA 95450 into your GPS or just use Google, whose locations are always correct. Conclusion: Nice beach to visit if you're in the area and especially if you like to visit old film locations.
