Came to world market, looking for more Dubai chocolate items. Found a couple pistachios delicacies in the food section. But not the one I was looking for. I did pick up some guava cookies and headed to the registers. I love the smell of world market as you walk through. It smells like a beach home if that makes sense. I needed a stool/table for the side of the couch. I found one on line and picked it up at the store. We bought two we liked it so much, very affordable and compliments some of our expensive furniture (you'd never know we paid less for the stools than anything we could find!) We had fun walking through the store with food and kitchen choices. We even found a sushi making kit which were excited to try since we just took a sushi making class. This store has great finds! I always come to World Market when I'm looking to get someone a gift. There's a little bit of everything for everyone and they always have a great snack and drink selection. I was looking for the seasoning that goes in miso soup one day, and this was the closest location that I could find it. This has become something of an oddball favorite of mine. One thing that I love about this store is all the oddball food and beverage selections they have from all over the world. Where else can you find Cheerwine Soda next to German beer, Italian Chianti and German sausages in a jar? Move just a few feet the other way and there's an entire aisle filled with ramen and yakisoba noodles. Charcuterie, savory and sweet snacks, chocolate bars, British baked beans...the list goes on and on. There's a decent collection of wines and beers that you normally don't find unless you head to Total Wine or Luekens at the very least. Look in the back aisle and you can find some bargains too. There was an entire display rack 3 shelves high with all kinds of stuff 55% off the marked price. I got a BIG bag of Maui sweet onion potato chips for less than $2! Meantime they have all kinds of artsy-craftsy stuff, home furnishings and decor, plus other stuff beyond that. None of it can be confused with stuff off the bargain rack. Well: at least not in the price department. We seldom buy anything here but the occasional gourmet food items, especially the stuff on sale. I DO have a mortgage to pay, after all. Designs range from bohemian to contemporary, offering a little something for everyone. Though the name of the store implies savings, the prices aren't exactly cheap. I found most items were priced similarly or a little less than Pier One, and sale items were closer to HomeGoods. For the most part I thought the prices were reasonable. Upon my first visit, I was astonished at the depth to the wine collection and enjoyed browsing through food items I've never seen at any grocer. They also carry imported beers and hard ciders. Just like Total Wine, CPWM offers "build your own' six pack, so you can fill a carton with whatever bottles you choose. Great way to sample and perfect gift idea for your local boozehound. The middle of the store is seasonal centered and currently loaded with Christmas decorations and practical necessities, like wrapping paper and stockings. The ornaments were cute, stylish, and great additions to a home in need of some sparkle. As far as service is concerned the staff seems pleasant, approachable and helpful. This is one of those stores that you always find something you definitely don't need, but it makes it into your basket/cart anyways. Today I went in to see if I could find a small desk lamp (they had quite a few, but none my style). One of my happy places is finally in Clearwater! Cost Plus World Market is it! So happy to finally visit and I can't help but say that I've been to other locations that are at least two or three times the size of this one. I was a bit disappointed. It's honestly hard to walk through this store. They should have more space for the carts to zoom through. There is beautiful original home goods here from all different countries and food and drinks from all over. That's my favorite part of it. The market area with the food seemed jumbled up. Come on now, they need room to hang out. I still found some of my favorites so I was happy with that. Also the alcohol section seems to be a little bit bigger here. Too bad my favorite passion fruit moscato was $7 more here than the location in Ft. Myers. I'm happy it is finally Here. I won't go crazy when I go to this store since it's closer than Ft. This store is located in the strip center along US19 that also has Barnes and Noble at Sunset Point and US19. The space is enormous and spanking brand new. This store is quite unique to our area. This store sells: furniture, groceries, household accessories, dishes, pots and pans and a lot of wine. Most of the areas in the store are quite roomy however, the grocery area is quite narrow. They had a lot of unique foreign products. This isn't a budget warehouse store but a middle to higher end sort of store. Being we were at it's opening weekend, the crowds were huge. I am so glad that a new store of this caliber is open in our neck of the woods! read more

After looking on the website, I'd been confused about exactly what they sold. Is it a furniture store? A grocery store? Now I've visited it, I can happily says it's like Anthropologie and Home Goods had a baby. It has dresses, cards, home decor, soap, furniture, kitchen accessories, lots of non-perishable international food, and beer/wine. If you're visiting someone and need a gift - this is the place to find it. My favorite things were the globes, cookie jars, coffee accessories, and food. Fun shopping place with tons of random home goods and international foods. I grew up with a Cost Plus World Market nearby so there is a nostalgia factor here for me. I don't remember ever buying anything, but I think it is a neat concept. We weren't looking for anything in particular, just browsing. I think they have a fun variety of home goods. None of their home goods really scream international to me. I think the world market part comes more from the food offerings, but then again these days we see goods from all over the world so I probably wouldn't make special note of it. I ended up buying a funny birthday card for my dad. It is definitely not one that I would find anywhere else, like at Hallmark. It was political humor and it made me laugh. I almost never buy cards for people, because I think it is a waste of money, but they got me with this one! My friend and fellow Yelper, Lindsey has always spoken highly of this store so the husbeastie and I decided to check it out. I didn't know what to expect, so... When we walked in, the first thing I noticed was that it smelled like a Pier One. I love that smell, It smells like imported wood and cloth, like things from other locations around the wood, and that's good. We started looking around at the decor items and noticed a picture of White llamas with a black llama in the middle, I desperately wanted that picture. Why? I cant even explain but it spoke to me. I did pick up prayer flags for my massage room. They had their Halloween things out and some things I'd not seen: Like Jelly Belly Disney Villain series, a lot of Jack Skellington items and the like. THey had coffee samples at the back and their food selection was quite amazing. I saw hot sauces I'd never seen before! I even got to pick myself up an English Honey Comb chocolate bar for myself. YUM. Their glass ware section was lovely, though the iridescent glass made me afraid to touch it as it was extremely delicate and not durable. When it was time to check out, the cashiers were having a conversation amongst themselves, and too busy to look up, so we stood there for a few minutes whilst they chatted. That was perhaps the most annoying part of the trip. I get it, they're human, it happens, but they need to be aware of what's going on and the people who are in line are their clients. When we did check out, I was asked if I was a member, I was not, I was asked if I wanted to sign up. Membership is free, so I gave her the information and saved 15% immediately, which was very nice. I was at Bed Bath and Beyond returning an item when the clerk told me Cost Plus World Market was having a soft opening this weekend so I figured I would walk down and check it out. The grand opening is next weekend. This store is like a cross between Pier One and Trader Joe's. There is a lot of home goods, some apparel and in the back is where they have their food section. The foods are all packaged, nothing that needs refrigeration. I spent more of my time checking out the food section and found a lot of different foreign candies and snacks as well as pastas, noodles, sauces and so on. There is also a really nice selection of wine. The line was long so I didn't really shop for anything, just looked around but this looks like a fun store to buy gifts or find your hard to find food items from around the world. Not too impressed! My sister and I were excited to see the new store had finally opened and stopped in immediately on our way home from Clearwater. This store isn't as big as other world markets I've frequented in the past, but the selection is ok, from what we saw. Renee (supervisor on duty) kneeled down next to my sister, who was tending to my niece at the time, and told her that the store was closed. Rude. When I was standing right next to my sister she could have easily told me. I swear if I would have heard any announcement that the store was closed we would have hauled ass. Maybe Renee should tell the big bosses that are visiting today how you embarrassed us, made us feel unwelcome and stupid for not knowing the new store hours. read more

I wasn't really sure what World Market was, but I was excited to try it. I admit that I was stumped when I first walked in the doors. There were some weird Bohemian (I.E. Hippy) clothes and some interesting jewelry when we first walked in. This was followed by a lot of odd but cool Halloween decor and some interior decorating items. I was intrigued by some of the products, but discouraged by the prices. A little high for my blood. This is when If found the back half of the store. That is where my happy spot is located. They have a lot of really neat snacks, food items, soda's, etc. As a diabetic, there were many items I could not have. However, I still found some amazing products. I bought diet ginger beer, diet almond roca syrup, sriracha beef jerky and a lemon artichoke pesto. I also found some amazing blood orange mints towards the check out. They also have a pretty extensive alcohol selection. My Husband was happy to find a few bottles of his favorite Belgian beer. They were well priced too. We also chuckled at the Halloween decor. There is a lot of it and some of it is pretty cool. Overall, there is a lot to look at and plenty to buy from the food section. I probably won't buy any of the decor, but I will drool over it and get ideas of what to look for at cheaper stores. I am giving 4 stars to just the food/ booze section of the store. Is World Market worth the drive from Pinellas Park? No. However, I may stop in again when I am in the area. read more

I found a few new spice combinations to cool with. My husband likes the assortment of sodas and I must say, the wine selection is extensive. I would have preferred a bit more elbow room and shelves that weren't as high but it was a very good experience. They have a free membership program and I received a 15% off coupon ( excluding wine) but with that and the discount from buying four bottles of wine I actually saved 25%. read more

Okay I have a rule about giving out 5 stars on the first visit but this is Cost Plus World Market. If you've never been to one of these places and you like travel this place is a treat. Now if you travel a lot internationally, and you are a foodie, this place is sure to delight. NOTE: I've been shopping at are there Cost Plus World Market locations for years. I've waited a few years, understatement, for this company to open up a location that was close to where I reside. Now that it's finally here, I was not let down at all. I was not disappointed during my first two visits recently. I was able to find the marzipan stollen that I like so much from Germany as well as the brand of glogg that I like so much. It's the brand that Ikea used to sell for years before they switch to the crappy ones that they now push off on their customers, probably at a savings to them. If you haven't had either one of those products and its year-end holiday time I highly recommend it. The Glock does not need to be mixed with alcohol to be enjoyable. So for those of you who have kids who want to partake in a festive holiday beverage you can simply mix it 50/50 with water. This is something I like to stock up on prior to Cost Plus selling out of this item. So let me throw out some words to those who've never been to a Cost Plus. Okay if you took a gift shop and combine it with a furniture store that's sold textiles such as carpeting and combine that with the store that sold quality alcoholic beverages as well as a grand array of food and snacks you would almost have Cost Plus World Market. All you have to do is to add a grand International flare to all of it. In my career I've traveled to many nations and I've dined well and often during my travel. I'm not the guy that has to go to Pizza Hut when I'm in Japan or McDonald's when I'm in Germany. I like to get out and mix it up with the locals and find out where everyone eats on the cheap as well as the pricier quality eats. I also like to know what people enjoy picking up as an impulse buy in the checkout line... basically snacks. When I come to World Market I usually find these items, true, not all the items but, the quality ones. Which says a lot about the people who are hired as buyers for this company. This particular location has a vast parking lot and extremely polite and professional employees who are always willing to go over the top to ensure that the customer is satisfied with their shopping experience. One item that I called in to ask questions about was in stock. I asked them if they could hold three of the items for me. I was informed that they would only be held for one business day. Being that I became very busy led to me becoming very forgetful. I went back to the location about 3 days after the item should have been put back on the shelf. Once I return to the store and was walking around I was greeted by an employee who asked if I was finding everything ok. It was then that I realize that I'd had some things on hold. I explained that I realize that the items may or may not be on hold but I was curious to find out if they added received another shipment. Well my item was still on hold, I hope this doesn't get anybody in trouble... And they had gotten a recent delivery to restock the item. So either way it would have been a win for me. Just based on the fact that the store failed to fail me when I was distracted for a few days dealing with an elderly parent with some medical issues, causing me to forget to pick up my desired product... I will remain a loyal customer and promote this business to my circle of friends and beyond. I did meet a member of the management team who came specifically to this store to open the location. I would like to add that she represented the Cost Plus World Market entity extremely well. She was well-mannered, polite/courteous, pleasant and enthusiastic/upbeat about her position and the company. read more

I have never been to this store so I didn't know what to expect. I have to say it's a very interesting set up. The store had a little bit of everything. There was cards, chocolates, a bathroom section, a lamp section a home goods section, furniture. There was a international food area with all kinds of packages, jars, bottles etc of food from all over. This was our favorite section because we were able to find many things that we couldn't buy elsewhere! There were all kinds of coffees to purchase as well. There was a large wine and beer section with all kinds of specialty beers from all over. My husband had fun picking out some German beers. There was all kinds of decorative items to choose from for your home. We went home with a few bags of purchases and I would definitely go back. I just wish it was closer to my home. It definitely reminds me of part Trader Joes (for the candy, snacks and wine) and part random-overpriced-funkadelic furniture/home goods boutique. I walked around a bit, and I admit I was intrigued by all the edible goodies, but not much impressed me besides that. I can definitely see why "cost plus" is part of their name; everything was pricey. $65 for an ugly wall tapestry that probably cost about $3 worth of yarn to make? Nah, thanks anyway. We frequently shopped at World Market in California and are pleased to have one close to home again. This really is a "must see" store as the comparisons to Pier 1 can be limiting on the products as it is closer to a general store with food, snacks, and liquor in addition to home and gift items.
