I never really knew what World Market was and I have truly found the coolest store. They sale everything in the world in here literally. They have food from all over the world, a variety of kitchen items, very stylish furniture, specialty beer and wine and a plethora of cool gifts perfect for anyone. If your looking for something unique to gift or stocking stuffers you will find that and more here. I seriously spent a hour just looking at all their stuff and left with something for a handful of family and friends for Christmas. Some of what really peaked my interest here was the food area. They have a asian, German and even New England type section sections among other demographics. I was able to find some Japanese soda for my niece, canned milk tea for me, cool beer for my husband and they have so many goodies I want to try. I'm not kidding when I say they have everything. I got the cutest mushroom coffee mug here and advent calendars for the entire family. I even found a vegan calendar for my husband who is allergic to dairy. Ion my last visit I was there to get some Super Bowl snacks that weren't the typical things you'd normally get. The chocolate selection is THE BEST and they have a lot of novelty snacks as well (Hello Kitty etc) In the past I've purchased coffee cups for gifts (so cute) and dresser knobs to freshen up and old thrift store find. Bottom Line: If you can't find a "Stocking Stuffer" or a "Hostess Gift" here - I don't think you actually went it! Took a friend here and it was her first time - she was amazed at the eclectic selection of small gifts up to full size furniture. I think some of their stuff is way overpriced - like their reproduction artwork - but like I said there's thousands of things to pick from throughout the store. World Market is one of those specialty grocery/retail stores located in The Avenue Viera that has a unique hook to bring in customers. The hook: it sells food and wares from around the world thus why it is called World Market. I will be honest and say that I like this place but more so for perusing than purchasing. As mentioned earlier, it is located in the Avenue Viera as one of the stores as part of the building which also has Michael's. I can't really describe its exact location since the place is uniquely designed, but it is easy to find enough. Upon entering, the place looks like a sectioned indoor flea market with a bit more style. There is a section for furniture, a section for tapestries, a section for food, and so on. I personally love the grocery section that sells all kinds of food from around the world. I think they like pushing their wide range of alcohol as they have pick-and-choose specials for unique beer and wine brands. The only issue many might find with World Market is the price. Think about it. This is a specialty store selling goods mostly imported from other countries that are not commonly sold in regular groceries and retail stores. Ergo, the price tends to be higher. As a result, purchasing anything at World Market is either a novelty for patrons or they have some money to burn. Finally for those who live in southern Melbourne and Palm Bay, a lot of their products can be found in ethnic food stores at a cheaper price since said stores buy in bulk and constantly sell them. Lucky Market on New Haven also provides the same alcohol specials with a decent selection too just in case you are an alcohol connoisseur who lives in said areas and only goes to World Market for the alcohol specials. I've always enjoyed shopping at World Market and was a fan favorite before the Pembroke Pines location in Southwest Broward closed about four years ago. Driving home through the Melbourne area, I was familiar with this particular location but it was always closed when I was "passing through." On Monday, June 8th, I visited around 4:45 p.m. and had an extensive conversation with Chris about some of the furniture pieces offered. Chris was very knowledgeable on the subject and even pointed me in the right direction when I requested a restroom. Speaking of restrooms - the men's room was very clean and did not smell offensive. I spent $78.92 on a bunch of foreign candy items that I could have done without. With that said, some of these items were the "old fashioned" candy items I was used to as a kid. By the time I am writing this review, I've eaten everything, including the Cinnamon toothpicks. Clean location and friendly staff. Centrally located just north of Melbourne in the The Avenue at Viera, an open-air, pedestrian friendly shopping destination featuring premier national retailers, select local merchants and specialty restaurants. My husband and I love going to this place. The only downside is we can't leave there with only a couple of things. We love to get their soup mixes and candies. We go there every holiday season to get some gifts for our family members because they have a very neat and fun gift set selection. We always try something new to drink when we check out. Love this store and at this time I am happy and sad that I don't have one near me. What I love are how there is so much home stuff, gift ideas, food, & alcohol from all different countries. So much to see & it has a wide selection. Nice atmosphere, too. Best of all, the people are very friendly & helpful. I called them a couple of times to see if an item came in & each time someone answered, they were happy to help me & it was absolutely no problem for them--they even checked to make sure none was on hand & they tell you when they expect delivery (& sometimes even the quantity). They also tell you to call back on the delivery date. This is absolute customer service. They work with you, too. Now remember, if these imported items seem a little pricey, remember the cost of shipping internationally itself is expensive (import taxes, diesel gas (which is not cheap for shipping both directions, shipping carriers fees, etc.) Anyway, this was my experience on every occasion I went there. read more

World Market is always a great place to find something out of the ordinary. I remember when I first went there it was amazing. Think global pier one meets international grocery and wine store. Today I was craving some of those German Gummy Blackberries and Raspberries. So... as I perused the various aisles (that I knew did not contain my sought-after sweet) I found various other goodies to try. I also found 4 bottles of moscato that I didn't need. (What can I say you can't ignore good prices.) The only thing that was wrong with my $60 impromptu candy trip was that the employees were doing major stocking during the day. (I thought they were suppossed to do that after store close). Apparently they were also planning some dinner party - very loudly in the middle of the aisle. Hmmmmm i wonder..... are you bringing food from this store Ed? Will it be Oriental, Moroccan, German..... Enquiring minds want to know. The aisles are not very wide so it was hard to get around. Plus With so many people standing around "stocking" apparently sometimes they feel the need to ask all shoppers in the earshot vacinity if they need any help. Which is fine the first or second time but third or fourth time gets pretty annoying. So unless you can read my mind and anticipate my every impulse I'm thinking the answer is no.... and no.... and no..... and (well you get the picture) But the most amusing thing today I found in this store was the Bacon Flavored Syrup that you can add to your beverage. It's kind of like walking through a flea market. The furniture looks used, but apparently, that's the trend today. The glassware isn't high-end, but good enough for everyday, although nothing different that you could find at Walmart. Their wine selection is adequate, and there are some strange foreign beers if you're into that kind of thing. What most people seem to find here are the strange foreign foods and candies. I only had 15 minutes to shop for baskets here due to a time crunch remodel project and couldn't believe there were 12 foot high pallets of stuff I the way so I couldn't even shop them. Not just one but several. The worst part was the manager Jody could have cared less when I told her. We even got a sassy response of "Well, we could have moved them!" From the check out girl!! My dining room table set is from World Market and 3 years in it looks brand new and we still love the style. One of my fave stores ever. I love their wine, coffee, chocolate, and unique gift selections. They could really improve their varieties of beer though. My husband and I would prefer more options in the dogfish head department. All they really carry on any consistent basis is IPAs (not my fave). I tend to read reviews rather than write them but today I was subjected to 2 very poor shopping experiences in the Melbourne area. After complaining about 1, I realized I'd be remiss if I didn't take a minute to share how pleased I am with WM. I've shopped there from MD, to OH, Jacksonviile and now Vierra. I have yet to visit a WM that disappoints. Mostly I buy coffee and spices but Wednesday (only) coffee was 25% off as were DaVinci Syrups. In addition I had a coupon for $10 if I spent $30. Unfortunately I had no way to get to the store that day and they don't ship syrups. What to do? Order online and pickup in the store! I had my doubts it would work but work it did. I gave my last name to the cashier and the manager brought my goodies to the front where I signed a receipt. Done. They don't charge your card until you arrive and will only hold items for 7 days but it works. Oh, and since I'm a member of their coffee club (double points if you purchase on Wednesday) and I bought 3 bags (credit for 6) on Wednesday I will soon receive a coupon for a free 12 oz bag. read more
