The store looked well organized for the most part and they did not seem to be understaffed in any way. There were many employees around, but not one of them greeted us or even looked at us as we passed them. I even went into the picture frame area because I had a photo print that I was thinking about having matted and framed, but the gentleman behind the counter was laser focused on his computer screen, he did not even bother to look up. I looked around at the merchandise in this area for a bit longer and then proceeded to browse other areas, where we also encountered more employees who were too busy (not helping others) to look in our direction or acknowledge us. The planner that I came for was no where to be found even though the online information told me that it was in stock at this location(it even told us which aisle). I did not bother to approach any of the employees to ask for anything because they all seemed pretty unapproachable, and the opposite of friendly or ready to assist. I found a different planner that I felt would suffice. My daughter found a bunch of yarn skeins that she liked for a crochet project, and then we made our way to check out. The woman who was checking us out sarcastically and abruptly stated "Ya got a planner, now your life's gonna be perfectly organized" as she scanned it and placed it in a bag. She was bitter about something, and that was obvious, but why would she bring that to work? I awkwardly attempted to laugh, my daughter pinched me, and then I just thanked her and we left. We should have spent at least double what we spent, but nobody wanted to help us spend our money. It's too bad. I don't know why, but it seems that this Michaels has a dark cloud over it or something, because the folks who work here absolutely hate their jobs and it really shows.

If it's not from Costco I also buy everything with their credit card and pay off monthly so we are Costco people. This is why I am so disappointed and disgusted with the Riverbank tire center service and business practices. Took my car for a tire rotation and also needed a tire fixed as it had a slow leak. They called me and said that the tires were out of warranty because I had not kept up with the rotation schedule. I told the guy in the phone that he needed to check the other two Costco stores where I have done the rotations and that I also get them done when I change the oil and all those receipts are in the glove compartment as I know I had not missed any rotation or oil changes. This is my commuter car so I have been meticulous on all the services. Then he said that it did not matter anyway because the flat was "unrepairable" as the nail was too close to the side wall so I needed to replace the tire but they don't sell just one tire so I had to buy two. Also warranty was voided because I had missed two rotations in the last 6 months, I told the guy I could find the receipts but something did not make sense to me so I said I would come by and discuss in person. I got there they had put the spare because that is their policy since the "unrepairable" tire was unsafe. I asked to see where the nail was as usually tire shops will circle the nails they find with chalk but they were too busy so guy said the tire was in the trunk and I could check it out myself and moved on as they were busy with a line. I went to check the "unrepairable" tire and the tire had no marks and the only nail I could find was right in the center of the tire and no where near any sidewall. Took it to a shop down the street and they charged me $15 to repair as there was nothing "unrepairable" with my tire. The only nail was the one in the center took them 5 minutes and have earned my future tire business. Wow.....lazy, dishonest and unprofessional staff at the tire center. I would give them negative stars but I can't. Disappointed and pretty upset, will never step in to the tire center again......funny because I wanted to get these really nice rims for my wrangler with new tires when the time came to replace but they will loose all my future business on the tire center in Riverbank. Lazy, liars and so unlike the rest of the great staff at that Costco Riverbank.

What I found is that they have quite a melange of products for sale here and most of them reasonably priced. I hit the jackpot when I located the Fancy Feast Pate variety kitty food. Eureka! Two for the price of one at .50 cents each. I also hit pay dirt on the Pure Harmony wet cat-food as well. .50 cents each. Purina Beyond, grain free Texas Beef Recipe wet dog food was a steal at .75 cents each 13 oz. tin. They have a freezer section here as well which keeps ice cream in particular frozen. They have a good selection of dry boxed cereal. Some of the boxes are smashed or dented but so far the bran flakes me and my Mom dine on are a steal at $.99-$1.50 each. The only area I think that I would like to see improved is the area at the check-out. There are 2 registers and two different lines but so far on both trips here, only one register and cashier can be seen checking patrons out. Even with a line which was consistent on both trips here; they didn't open the other register. One more area too is that of a itemized receipt. The receipt when looking at it has just prices and a generic if any description of the items. For me, a person who purchases Purina brand foods for my fur babies and participates in the "Member" part of the companies give-a-ways which require a paid receipt in order to receive rewards; unfortunately with the way the current system is; I don't qualify for my rewards (Purina) submission like this. Other than this; it's a solid store and worth looking into. They sell candy; name brands as well and ground coffee and more.

We have purchased several items and have always had a great experience here up until our most…read morerecent purchase. We purchased a bed frame/headboard/footboard set that was advertised as a full. We got it home and it had been modified to fit a queen size mattress. We attempted to contact the owner multiple times. I called, text, left messages, even came into the store and hand wrote a message. We still have not heard back. The frame was too long after my husband managed to adjust the frame to fit the width of the bed. We had to spend an additional $100 to get a frame that would fit our mattress because the one we purchased was not advertised correctly and we heard nothing back. Very poor customer service and we won't be coming back unless we FINALLY hear back. But it's been 3 weeks so I assume we will not. Very disappointed.

Smart & Final is alright…read more Smart & Final has a wild pricing system. You will come in one day and a certain item will be one price. You come in the next week and that same item has doubled in price. The third week, the same item will be less than on the first visit. And this is all without that item even going on sale. Sometimes prices are great and will beat their competitor's prices. Other times they will grossly overcharge you for something you can get at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. This pricing inconsistency makes it difficult to want to be a frequent shopper. That being said, they do offer a wide variety of items. They might carry a particular obscure brand that you can't find at any other grocery store but might not carry another super popular or mainstream brand. They also sell a mix of individual and bulk items with a huge liquor selection. The staff members are very friendly. They don't hesitate to drop what they're doing to help you or grab something from the back. The store is organized a bit awkwardly so when there aren't many workers, the line gets long and wraps into the aisles. Since its renovation, this store became huge and industrial. I would not necessarily recommend this as your go-to grocer.

One complaint is on sale days, they close all the dressing rooms. They only have 3 dressing rooms to begin with. When you have a sale on clothing, it doesn't make sense to close the dressing rooms. I believe it is because they don't want the added hassle of cleaning up after people who might leave it a mess. I'm not sure. But forcing customers to try it on over their clothing or not being able to try it on at all, is not good business sense, in my opinion. You cannot return it if it isn't the right fit for you. Please reconsider opening the dressing rooms during a clothing sale! The staff there are usually pretty nice, I have encountered one that was rude, and I avoid her if possible. Their prices are sometimes worth it and sometimes not. When they have a certain color tag it is 50% off. Which can make it worthwhile. However, sometimes the item is not worth what they are asking for it. For example, if they have an item from the dollar tree marked for $3.00, even at 50% off, it makes it $1.50, when it was $1.25 brand new from the dollar tree. I understand it is a charity, however customers want a good deal. At least I know I do.
