Travelled to Bend for a mixture of business and pleasure. Found the Resort through a search and pictures sold us. Positives: the setting and scenery were amazing, nestled in the trees with great views from our balcony. It was very quiet and peaceful. It was far enough away from town to avoid traffic but close enough to get to things quickly. Small fridge in room was good. Coffee provided in welcome bag was delicious. Staff was courteous. Negatives: the rooms were very outdated, with old appliances and a very uncomfortable bed. Our initial coffee maker was broken, and the second they replaced it with was broken also. Ended up having to make a Starbucks run early because of it. The room was small and bathroom tiny. I'm tall and wife is average. The shower was chest height for me and was too low for even my wife. The lighting was not good in the room. Finally, we reserved this online through a travel site, not knowing it was a time share resort. Staff seemed offended we were not interested in listening to their info, and did not listen when told firmly we were not interested. Overall, we will not stay here again. Bend itself was amazing and highly recommended to visit!

The grounds are mostly green and pretty. There are picnic tables and barbecues to use.

3.5 I looked around ( at totally the last minute) for a not too far from home, not the beach, kitchenette, free wifi, and pool kind of place to have a short vacation with the Princess. This is where we landed. Bend. 7th Mountain is the closest resort to Mt. Bachelor. The place is in the middle of changing hands and portions of the property are under construction. ( construction and landscaping noise started before 8 am daily which was unhappy- making). There are often groupons and deals offering free nights for a certain number of paid nights. I booked it online using my AAA discount. I got a pretty decent rate for a 1 bdrm condo with a queen, queen sofa bed, kitchenette, fireplace, and balcony. It was clean, air conditioned and well appointed for the most part. The tv in the bedroom didnt seem to have cable, they gave us less than a half roll of toilet paper, but otherwise it was fine. There's no housekeeping during your stay. You can arrange some if you must.We didnt need that. The tennis courts had weeds growing up through the cracks. Didnt see anyone using them. One playground was torn apart. Theres equipment like horseshoes to borrow. We did not try the bar ( it has a nice patio with a fire pit) or restaurant. Theres a snack bar/ store by the pool area. In winter theres a skating rink. There are stables and they will arrange horseback riding for extra money. They will also set you up for raft trips that leave from the resort. We did a whole lot of nothing during our stay. Reading by the pools ( a big pool, a saltwater pool, a kid pool and three hot tubs) was the highlight and just what I needed. Princess made a friend so we spent a lot of time by the pool or in the hot tub talking to the other family. This turned out to be just right for us. The construction was a minor bother ( I think they should have told us when we checked in that our building #3 was right next to it). When I checked out I was asked how things were and I mentioned that. I dont think the murmur I got in return was super satisfying as a response....but I let it go. All that pool time mellowed me mostly out.

I can't wait to come back! We purchased the Groupon and loved our one bedroom condo. One thing I dislike about traveling is staying in a cramped hotel room thinking about the thousands of people who stayed in the room before me. Ick. The condo was a much better solution because it just felt like a second home. Our condo was complete with dishes, utensils, fridge, stove, etc so it was nice to have the ability to eat in. It had a separate bedroom and then there was also a sofa bed in the living room so even though there were just two of us, I don't think we would have noticed two extra people until it came time to fight over the first shower. The room was very clean and our bed was oh so comfortable. I did find the living space a bit dark though. There was also a patio and a nice view of some raccoons scampering about in the early am. The grounds are well kept and I love that it's slightly out of town so it's pretty quiet. We skipped the main restaurant because it looked pretty pricey, so we dined one evening at the Rim Rock Bar instead. Nice local taplist, efficient, cool waitstaff and HUGE portions of food. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere with a fireplace and games. Our deal with Groupon was killer, but I looked online and the prices are pretty reasonable. And they offer a lot of deals and packages on their own. Depending on the size of the condo you can bring your friends and the cost goes down even more. I wish we had more time to take advantage of their amenities as they have mountain bikes for rent, outdoor heated pools, hot tubs, horseshoes, horseback riding, etc but we were in town for an event. Next time for sure and the skating pond should be frozen by then! I'm already bugging my boyfriend about our next visit. With the proximity to Bachelor and some unfinished business with the Bend Ale Trail, I don't think I'm going to have much convincing to do.

This is the mess that greeted us in our tiny bathroom. You know, the one with no hot water.

Our room was supposed to be ready by 4 PM, so we arrived at 4 PM after a grueling drive during a snowstorm that required tire chains. I entered the lobby and got in the Registration line behind only two people, who seemed to be chit-chatting with the clerk ad nauseam. The female clerk and a male manager kept taking phone calls instead of serving people standing right in front of them. Other residents kept walking up to complain about room keys not working and one guy said he unlocked his room only to find another family inside. I overheard another guest say it took them 45 minutes to check in earlier. So a full 30 minutes later I stepped up to the desk and said, "You guys need to speed this up because this is the longest I've ever waited to check in at a hotel." The clerk said, "We're doing the best we can but we're understaffed." Based on what I saw and heard, they weren't doing their best. They were wasting everyone's time by reading the brochure to them, and then by putting people in the wrong rooms and issuing keys that don't work. So after she takes all my info, the clerk tells me our room isn't even ready yet. I reminded her that it was after 4 PM and then the manager jumped in aggressively and said, "Don't start that with us, sir. You're on vacation!" "Really? I am?" I asked. "Don't start that with me!" he yelled. "Or what?" I asked. Then he backed down and left the desk. Totally unprofessional. So we hung around the lobby and figured out this isn't really a resort. It's one of those timeshare places. Instead of staffing the front desk with hospitality professionals, they had three salespeople at a second desk trying to herd people into a presentation, complete with some kind of Wheel of Fortune gimmick. It was really CREEPY. At 5 PM, the clerk came out and told us our room was ready. Only she called us by the wrong names and it wasn't our room that was ready. Once they got that sorted out, we were ushered over to the second desk where a salesperson tried to tell us we shouldn't bother skiing at Mt. Bachelor tomorrow because they're supposed to have 65 MPH winds. "Really?" I asked, "Because that's not in the forecast." Turns out out she wanted to suggest we attend their "free" timesharing presentation tomorrow instead of taking our kids skiing for Christmas. When we finally got to our room, the housekeeper was still inside and the door was blocked by her bins. So here we are, dragging our luggage through slush only to later discover our key cards (and the Wi-Fi, and the TV remote) don't work. Worse, we soon discovered there was NO HOT WATER in our unit and the sofa bed was not even ready to use. We had to put everything on it, including the mattress pad. We've NEVER had to do that at ANY hotel. The sofa bed is always ready to go. There was also no detergent for the dishwasher. And there was a mess of POOP and PUBIC HAIR on the bathroom floor. Obviously, we were unexpected guests--still expected to pay resort prices. The last straw was that the on-site restaurant ("Seasons") was CLOSED--with no explanation or warning. Is this, or is this not the ski season?! So here we are, at a so-called resort with no food except all the junk food at the ice skating center--including loaves of bread that expired four weeks prior. RIDICULOUS! The next day, our second set of card keys stopped working. We had just driven down from Mt. Bachelor, exhausted from an awesome day of skiing (no 65 MPH winds), wanting only to get into our room and relax. But no, another ACCESS DENIED! Needless to say, we won't be coming back to the Seventh Mountain Resort. I don't think they know the meanings of the words "resort" and "vacation." Take our advice and look elsewhere.

The kid play area in the complete sun during the day. Too warm to play on.

Traveling with a pet can sometimes feel like a hassle, but here, it felt like my dog was just as welcomed and pampered as I was. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted my dog with genuine warmth, offering treats, a cozy dog bed, and even special amenities that made the stay feel thoughtful and personalized. It wasn't just "pet-tolerant"--it was truly pet-celebrating. The attention to detail made a huge difference, and it was clear they go above and beyond for guests with furry companions. Beyond that, the hotel itself is beautiful--modern, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The rooms are spacious, the beds are luxurious, and everything feels high-end without being pretentious. If you're traveling with your dog and want a place that treats both of you like VIPs, the Oxford Hotel is hands down one of the best choices out there. I accidentally left personal items in the room and am 100% certain they were left there. I contacted the hotel multiple times and they kept telling me they would follow up--but no one ever did. I never received a return call like they promised, a resolution, or any form of compensation, which was extremely disappointing for a hotel at this price point. On top of that, the staff I interacted with came across as rude and dismissive rather than helpful. A little accountability or basic courtesy would have gone a long way. For example I had to call down to the front desk 3 times in one morning just to get someone to bring toilet paper up to our room. For comparison, I had a much better overall experience at the Hampton Inn in Bend, where the service felt more professional and guest-focused. This is the hotel I usually stay at and it's always been a good experience, but this time I wanted an upscale experience since it was over New Years and I love an upscale hotel experience. I travel a lot and this was the worst experience I have had in a long time. The whole stay was very disappointing from the time we checked in, to our dining experience at their restaurant (they gave us a salad with croutons so hard they almost broke our tooth), clear up to the point we checked out. The rooms may be nice, but customer service matters more--and that's where this stay fell short.

First, check in was a breeze and they offer you a complimentary wine, beer, cider or soda upon arrival. I had a local Avid cider which was very tasty after a long drive. Second, the property is VERY clean. Plexiglas is up for the front desk staff, masks available at all entrances, and hand sanitizer bottles strategically placed. All guests and employees were wearing masks. A buffet breakfast is included. It is a decent free continental breakfast with one caveat: our son ate a coconut raspberry muffin that was hand-labeled "gluten free" and "vegan" which was a nice touch. However, this muffin had to contain nuts (almond flour?) because his nut allergy kicked in hard and we ended up taking him to the emergency room 5 minutes away. Obviously we are not blaming the hotel as his allergy is ultimately our responsibility, but when we asked the server if the muffin contained nuts she responded "I don't know." With so many people experiencing nut allergies these days you should know this answer especially if you are already labeling food as "gluten free", etc. why not go all of the way? Again, not going to blame them, but I do suggest that the hotel label their foods with nuts too. Other than the continental breakfast incident, we do recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

I knew of the McMenamins line of hotels due to a friend who had taken me to their Edgefield property when I was visiting. They had described the place as an adult Disneyland and that's a pretty good description for it. It had so many things going on above and beyond the hotel itself. So, when I saw that there was a McMenamins in Bend, OR I decided to try it out. It was a little hard to figure out where the main entrance was as I arrived in town when it was dark out. I managed to find a parking spot quickly, but I noticed as the evening went on it was packed with cars. The hotel is located on a corner toward the end of the downtown area and it's an easy, well lit walk to shops and restaurants. But, there are so many options to eat and drink at the hotel that you don't need to leave if you don't want to. The main part of the hotel where you check in has a rustic look to it. I hadn't made reservations as I was trying to see how far I could get toward home before stopping. It was a Sunday night and thankfully they had an opening. The two people at the front desk were very nice and helpful and I was able to get a room in the main building. As a solo, female traveler I felt very safe and comfortable not only in the hotel but in the town as well. I also found out that not only do they accept dogs, but they accept large dogs. And the bartender I spoke with said the town is very dog friendly. Although my dog wasn't with me on this trip I would love to return with him. My room was a decent size. It had a lot of different lighting options so it could have been very bright in there if I preferred or I could keep it more dimly lit. They make their own coffee, so they had four packets of coffee out (two with caffeine and two decaffeinated), a small coffee maker and some cream and sugars. I happened to get a room that was ADA compliant, so the bathroom was huge with a large walk/roll in shower. It was a lot of white tile and it was spotless. I was so tired and the room was so comfortable I would have been happy just staying in all evening. The grounds have several bars, a hidden speakeasy, a movie theater and a restaurant. So, if you decided to stay at the hotel then you would have plenty to keep you occupied. The patios had tons of heaters, so it was still pleasant to sit outside on a cold night. I was right next to the lobby, so I was a little worried it would be loud and it wasn't. I was also right next to where they set out a coffee station in the morning, which was convenient. The bed was comfortable and I couldn't have asked for more. I definitely plan on returning and staying longer, so I can take advantage of all the amenities they have to offer.

The company hosting the seminar covered the cost of our room, so we did not pay for it. The property itself is large and sprawls on either side of the river. We stayed on the second level, with a balcony overlooking the river, which was really nice! The hotel is from the 1970's, but it seemed nicely maintained and the room was very clean. Amenities I appreciated were the dual bathroom vanities, comfy chair, refrigerator, and USB charging ports on the wall. The room itself was generously sized. The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure in the shower was fine (not terrible, but not amazing). One thing I really missed having in the room was a microwave to reheat leftovers or coffee...I was surprised by the absence of this common amenity. As stated earlier, we didn't pay for this room. I looked up pricing, and the base rate seemed relatively reasonable. However, they tack on a 19% "amenity fee" that raises the rate quite a bit, along with the usual transient taxes by state and local governments. Even though I found our stay here to be enjoyable, I don't think I'd pay the rate they're charging overall for that same room. Although the river view was nice, I think I'd skip it and save some money. If their rates are acceptable to you and you value a riverside view, it's absolutely a nice hotel to stay at. All of the staff we encountered were very kind, too. I can't really say anything negative about our experience here! I would have given it a five star review, but I find the final room rate to be too expensive and having a microwave would have been appreciated.

They kept our name and called us when we could check in (prior to usual time). Sat by the pool in the sun, reading books while waiting (even nice in October). Quaint environment around the pool (lounge chairs, bean bags, etc.). Received a nice lunch recommendation from the front desk team and Oregon High Desert Museum passes! Yay! The room had darling amenities and stylish/old school touches (fake dial phone, orange camp chairs, wooden pens, pour over coffee!). There was a cute little Victrola Bluetooth speaker. Make-up towel. Fun! The fire pit looked amazing! But, we were busy watching Toronto beat Seattle to go to the World Series!! The only downside...are the walls are a bit thin. Unfortunately, we had a rowdy late night neighbor... The beds could be more comfy.

It's just a little bit away from the downtown scene in Bend in an area that is being revitalized. I love the branding all over the hotel. They warm, brown and orange colors and all of the thoughtful touches and decor really made it stand out and feel super inviting. We enjoyed our five nights stay there very much. When we first checked in, I was a little disappointed that we were not in the main building. We were in a second building that was kind of across the street and the common area around it isn't quite as cute. It ended up being a good thing because the hotel pool and the Fire Pit area are super popular and it gets quite lively out there in the evenings. I appreciated being a little bit away from that because our room was so quiet. The people that work at the hotel are great, really friendly and helpful. We had a great time at the pool, I went every day! On Sunday, they have a big pool party and it seems like there are people from town that come because most of the people were checking out of the hotel that morning. They had a couple DJs, we went and enjoyed the music and the scene and had a blast. They have a bar area that opens in the afternoon that serves all sorts of cocktails but also they have nonalcoholic and CBD drinks available. They have a burrito, food truck and a coffee food truck in the parking lot Tuesdays through Saturdays and both of them were awesome. I wanted to give the hotel five stars but there are a couple things they could work on. First of all, the shower pressure was excellent and I liked how high the showerhead was, but the showerhead was in a fixed position. Every single time I showered there I would get blasted with cold water intermittently during the shower. With the showerhead, not being movable, there was no way for me to get out of the cold water stream. I just had to handle it until it got warm again or get out of the shower. I have a ton of hair so I can't just get out of the shower in the middle of washing my hair, that stuff has got to get rinsed out. Secondly, I appreciate that they don't clean the room every day. That seems like a waste to me. They told me at the front desk to let them know if there was a day I'd like to get my room cleaned before 11 AM that morning. So on Sunday morning at 8:15 AM I walked over to the front desk to ask to have our room cleaned that day and was told that because there were so many checkouts that they can't clean my room that day but would clean it the next day instead. Well, the next day was one day before we were leaving so it didn't really make sense. Also, our trash cans were running over, we were out of toilet paper and we needed new towels. So I ended up getting trash bags, towels, and toilet paper from reception and bringing them back to the room and then bagging up all of our trash and putting it outside the room. It wasn't the end of the world, but if they weren't available to do the room on a specific day, it would've been nice to get a heads up. We could've gotten it done the day before. Lastly, as much as I liked the aesthetic of the room, the bedframe is oversized and juts out just a little bit. It's dark brown, and the room is kind of dimly lit (nice aesthetic). I smacked both of my knees on that bedframe on different days and my man also smacked his knees on it. I took a photo of my knee next to the bedframe and you can see that the material of the frame is worn in that spot, it looks like a lot of people smack items or their body parts on it. They need to put a little cushion protection on that thing!
