Fantastic stay, from start to finish, top to bottom. Thank you, Oxford Bend! Exceptional service by all: valet, bells, front desk, housekeeping, operator. So helpful, always friendly and with a smile. Our king room on the top floor was very well appointed and squeaky clean. Huge TV, big soaking tub plus separate shower and WC (having the toilet in its own room is so nice). Loved the soap menu(!) as well as the stainless steel French press and not one or two but three different roast options for morning coffee. Enjoyed the sauna and hot tub in the fitness center. They also have a steam room and various exercise machines and weights in the space with an expansive view of downtown Bend. I would love to return to this fine hotel whenever I find myself back in Bend. It was a most wonderful home away from home for a few days.

Love this hotel. The rooms are huge. Ours had its own living room. Really nice soap and shampoos in the bathroom that smell amazing. They have order ahead room service from the restaraunt downstairs. I haven't eaten there but have heard good things. There's a hot tub and gym. Perfect location-close walk to all the shops downtown and restaurants. A really good coffee shop right across the street too. Valet parking. Would recommend staying here. No complaints.

This is my last and 3rd night here at the Oxford hotel. This is THE place to stay in Bend. The hospitality exceeded my expectations as every time I am in and out of the lobby, I have a staff member asking me if I need help, if I need any silverware for my take out, etc. The room is clean, large, with a comfortable bed and pillows. I love the shower/tub combo. The fresh press is a nice touch and I wake up every morning to a cup of hot tea using the kettle they provide. It can not be easier if you need anything, you are a text message away. I needed Kleenex Sunday morning and I received that in about 10 mins with the Sunday paper. Very nice touch. I also saw some snacks by the elevator which is complimentary to start your day. The location can not be beat as you are literally a 2 min walk from downtown. I was able to walk out and get gelato a few doors down and Thai food just 2 blocks down. There are many retail shops just down the block including restaurants, bookstores, candy store, clothing stores, coffee shops, etc. I also ordered room service from the in house restaurant 10 below downstairs a hour ago and they were quick to respond and deliver. Very friendly service. COVID update: No valet parking. It's all self park which is fine with me. No housekeeping unless you request it which is also fine. Masks required and all staff are wearing masks.

Huge, clean and beautiful room. Good service. Excellent fitness center with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Sad we didn't have time to use it. Coffee and tea in the room. They also offer complimentary washer and dryer for guests and bikes. Very grateful to find beautiful box with gluten free cupcakes for our birthday in the room. Highly recommend!

    Great view at sunset.

I recently stayed here as I was driving back from Spokane to California. I'm actually sad to say…read morethat I only had one night here as I really loved the vibe of the place and would have loved to spend more time at the hotel. I knew of the McMenamins line of hotels due to a friend who had taken me to their Edgefield property when I was visiting. They had described the place as an adult Disneyland and that's a pretty good description for it. It had so many things going on above and beyond the hotel itself. So, when I saw that there was a McMenamins in Bend, OR I decided to try it out. It was a little hard to figure out where the main entrance was as I arrived in town when it was dark out. I managed to find a parking spot quickly, but I noticed as the evening went on it was packed with cars. The hotel is located on a corner toward the end of the downtown area and it's an easy, well lit walk to shops and restaurants. But, there are so many options to eat and drink at the hotel that you don't need to leave if you don't want to. The main part of the hotel where you check in has a rustic look to it. I hadn't made reservations as I was trying to see how far I could get toward home before stopping. It was a Sunday night and thankfully they had an opening. The two people at the front desk were very nice and helpful and I was able to get a room in the main building. As a solo, female traveler I felt very safe and comfortable not only in the hotel but in the town as well. I also found out that not only do they accept dogs, but they accept large dogs. And the bartender I spoke with said the town is very dog friendly. Although my dog wasn't with me on this trip I would love to return with him. My room was a decent size. It had a lot of different lighting options so it could have been very bright in there if I preferred or I could keep it more dimly lit. They make their own coffee, so they had four packets of coffee out (two with caffeine and two decaffeinated), a small coffee maker and some cream and sugars. I happened to get a room that was ADA compliant, so the bathroom was huge with a large walk/roll in shower. It was a lot of white tile and it was spotless. I was so tired and the room was so comfortable I would have been happy just staying in all evening. The grounds have several bars, a hidden speakeasy, a movie theater and a restaurant. So, if you decided to stay at the hotel then you would have plenty to keep you occupied. The patios had tons of heaters, so it was still pleasant to sit outside on a cold night. I was right next to the lobby, so I was a little worried it would be loud and it wasn't. I was also right next to where they set out a coffee station in the morning, which was convenient. The bed was comfortable and I couldn't have asked for more. I definitely plan on returning and staying longer, so I can take advantage of all the amenities they have to offer.

We stayed here two nights while preparing to move into a rental in Bend. My husband got me a small meal the night before. Because I was up at 0600, I went to the breakfast to get coffee and food and to return the platter and the flatware from the night before. When I went the main desk to ask, some old lady with long gray hair seemed unnecessarilyy annoyed at my question about where to return. (We need to scrape the contents of the plates into the garbage can and place the plates and flatware into the bin)- something like "the precious". Anyway, the coffee was very good, but the breakfast, meh. Scrambled eggs weirdly bland, there was bacon (not a fan) and an "egg McMuffin" that I got only for the sausage. The second day the same old blah lady was at the desk, and the breakfast was even less (same scrambled eggs and sausage (turkey?). and a little muffin. Coffee was still good.

They did have a sign saying that you could go to one of their sister properties and use their Facilities, but the one with the hot tub was nowhere even near this location. Props to the pool area as well -- spacious, clean, lots of towels and a pretty solid hot tub. The gym is full size too, stocks a good selection of machines, treadmills and weights, so that's another plus. Gotta say, though the hotel offers free bikes to take out, they are absolute crap; the brakes are atrocious, gears are sketchy and one had a flat. It's a nice perk, but proceed with caution. But overall, the Element is clean and up to date, with lots of parking on-site (though it costs extra), and a pretty good location within a somewhat reasonable walking distance to downtown. Second, the property is VERY clean. Plexiglas is up for the front desk staff, masks available at all entrances, and hand sanitizer bottles strategically placed. All guests and employees were wearing masks. A buffet breakfast is included. It is a decent free continental breakfast with one caveat: our son ate a coconut raspberry muffin that was hand-labeled "gluten free" and "vegan" which was a nice touch. However, this muffin had to contain nuts (almond flour?) because his nut allergy kicked in hard and we ended up taking him to the emergency room 5 minutes away. Obviously we are not blaming the hotel as his allergy is ultimately our responsibility, but when we asked the server if the muffin contained nuts she responded "I don't know." With so many people experiencing nut allergies these days you should know this answer especially if you are already labeling food as "gluten free", etc. why not go all of the way? Again, not going to blame them, but I do suggest that the hotel label their foods with nuts too. Other than the continental breakfast incident, we do recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
