We stayed here for two nights while my boyfriend attended a two day seminar at the conference center here. The company hosting the seminar covered the cost of our room, so we did not pay for it. The property itself is large and sprawls on either side of the river. We stayed on the second level, with a balcony overlooking the river, which was really nice! The hotel is from the 1970's, but it seemed nicely maintained and the room was very clean. Amenities I appreciated were the dual bathroom vanities, comfy chair, refrigerator, and USB charging ports on the wall. The room itself was generously sized. The bathroom was very clean and the water pressure in the shower was fine (not terrible, but not amazing). One thing I really missed having in the room was a microwave to reheat leftovers or coffee...I was surprised by the absence of this common amenity. As stated earlier, we didn't pay for this room. I looked up pricing, and the base rate seemed relatively reasonable. However, they tack on a 19% "amenity fee" that raises the rate quite a bit, along with the usual transient taxes by state and local governments. Even though I found our stay here to be enjoyable, I don't think I'd pay the rate they're charging overall for that same room. Although the river view was nice, I think I'd skip it and save some money. If their rates are acceptable to you and you value a riverside view, it's absolutely a nice hotel to stay at. All of the staff we encountered were very kind, too. I can't really say anything negative about our experience here! I would have given it a five star review, but I find the final room rate to be too expensive and having a microwave would have been appreciated. read more

We came here hoping for some R&R. The description on Expedia says: "This property offers transfers from the airport (surcharges may apply)." Don't believe it. I contacted the hotel to make sure they would send a shuttle to pick us up at Redmond airport. The response back was: Thank you for your inquiry. We do not have airport transportation available this evening and would encourage utilizing ride share such as Uber or Lyft. - Kristen We arrived at 11:30pm at night and paid $70 for an uber to the lodge. Once there, the man at the main desk said that the first shuttle is at 10:30pm and is usually full because it's for airline stewards. Then he gave us a map and directions to go to our room, Room 4004 in building A. We walked to building A, didn't find out room, and then walked around for another 30 minutes at 1am exhausted. We finally determined there was no room number 4004. This was a farce. We walked back to the reception and he said that the system said there was a room 4004 but apparently there wasn't. He said the lodge was almost completely booked. Our options were a lackluster room with a view of a dirt hill down to the pool or a room with bunk beds. We chose the dirt hill. We will definitely never come back here and hopefully be able to find another hotel tomorrow. read more

One of the first places I stayed in Bend over 5 years ago and is still a great place to this day. The location is not the best but the Riverhouse Lodge on the Deschutes River is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer. It has 2 pools with a hot tub and fire pits. It also offers a decent little gym and a restaurant. Don't forget about the best part of all the river runs through the lodge itself. read more

I stayed for night and the view is ok. the river view is not what i was expecting. A bit underwhelming. The room is spacious but the money they are charging you, it's not worth it. Paid more than $340 for the night. The shower tub is not very clean although acceptable. There's a strand of hair in the tub. The toilet seat is slanted that it slides to the right when you sit on it. There's no complimentary hand soap, toothpaste, toothbrush and lotion unlike other hotels. The body soap in the shower is empty - it's not refilled. The beddings were not neatly tucked (the exact opposite from what i heard from one in the front desk that they have to make sure everything is perfect). This is our second stay at the Riverhouse lodge. After our first stay I couldn't recommend this place more to anybody I knew, so for our second stay I figured we'd upgrade from the bunkbed room we had prior to the 2 queen with a fire pit room and river view, too bad house keeping did a horrible job prepping our room the entire hallway in the steelhead building smells like death and this is after I called the front desk was put on hold for 15 mins then hung up on to walk up to the front desk and ask if something could be done about the smell to no avail. It's currently 3:30am and I'm wide awake because the smell of death in the hallway has seeped into our room. For $586 a night I would rather sleep in my car next time. read more

Had high hopes for the weekend. Recovering from a long illness and when we booked on the phone, had the understanding we booked a nice patio room overlooking the river. Upon checking in, we're informed of a 19% (!! for wifi and a scummy pool...?) "destination fee" and $10 parking per night. We stayed two. So the hefty extra charges brought us up to a Sunriver level resort price of $$. Our room quality was not even close. Got an ADA room, depressing and shopworn for the expensive price. Horribly overcharged. Will never go back. And not well cleaned either. They additionally overcharged us on a few things and said would credit. Haven't checked again yet. The site is pretty from the restaurant and other rooms. The service and people were all great. We just have an issue for hugely overcharging for a not very nice room. so disappointed. read more

Had an enjoyable stay at Riverhouse Lodge. Being right on the river and across the street from the convention center are both huge perks. The rooms are clean and the restaurant on site is good and reasonably price for what it is. I do wish they would have the heaters and fire pits going outside. If you want them you have to start them yourself and the heaters didn't have propane in them. We didn't have an issue with parking and I love that they are pet friendly. The movie in the pool area was a cute touch too. read more

We stayed at the Riverhouse Lodge in Bend, OR while attending a conference and were excited about the riverside setting and pet-friendly accommodations. The location is absolutely beautiful, and every staff member we encountered was kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, there were several service and facility issues that impacted our overall experience. Despite reserving and confirming a ground-floor firepit suite facing the river, we were initially checked into a second-floor room facing the road. After some confusion and delay, we were reassigned--but walked in on guests already staying in that room. (EEEKKK) A very uncomfortable situation for all involved. Thankfully, a correct and available room was eventually found. The suite was spacious but dark and a had a strong musty odor, a moldy-smelling shower curtain, and leftover items in the fridge from a previous guest. Even more concerning, a large wasps' nest was forming over the patio area. I'm severely allergic and alerted the front desk immediately, but the issue remained unresolved during our 3-night stay. The staff were apologetic and tried to be helpful, but these mishaps suggest a need for stronger property management and attention to detail. With improvements to operational oversight, Riverhouse Lodge has the potential to deliver a much more seamless and enjoyable experience. read more

I have mixed feelings about the night we spent at Riverhouse Lodge. We were booked there as part of a wedding party. Because of our age, we were assigned an ADA room. The room was laid out to accommodate someone with mobility issues and, as a result, a bit awkward to negotiate. The bed was overly soft. The bathroom was cluttered with ADA appliances. I have no idea what the wedding planers paid for the room but I assume it was expensive. read more

The Riverhouse lodge is a convenient place to stop when going between CA and WA. They allow pets, the rooms are clean and generally quiet. My recommendation would be the upper floor river facing rooms. The lower level rooms have a patio but if you are facing the parking lot, people are parking facing your room. I would have rated the place 4*, but in addition to the resort fee (18%) they are now charging a $10 parking fee. We will come back again, because it's convenient and they allow pets. read more

What a serene place to stay when visiting Bend, Oregon. I had a beautiful view of the river in room 2218. The beds were comfortable, love the little patio view of the river and waking up seeing it from my bed throughout the evening. I'm definitely torn between staying in one of the rooms on the ground floor because they have fire pits. Ideally I think the one right below my room and Over one would be perfect. I believe that would be 1216 which is pictured in the view below. I really wanted to use the hot tub, but it wasn't working this weekend. But they did have a nice warm pool indoors, but it felt a bit too cold outside to have to walk back to the room so I forgoed it this time. Look forward to coming back. There was a beautiful river Trail just up the hill past the convention center and passed the golf course that was about a 45 minute walk into town. Highly recommend. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. This place Nickle & Dimes you to death with fees for everything! The Lodge is "Pet Friendly" which means when you enter your room it might smell like a musty Dog Kennel (Ours did). Also noticed when walking around the room in my socks that I was collecting Dog Hair (We don't own any pets). Bathroom floor was dirty. TV didn't work for 2 days, we called the front desk the first time (on my Cell Phone because the room's phone wouldn't call out) and they sent a maintenance tech, the fix lasted for an hour then became unwatchable again. The problem persisted the next day, tried to call but the hotel phone wouldn't call out again, so I used my cell phone and reported TV and Phone not working. Tech guy came out, TV worked for about an hour then screen freezing problems started to reoccur, so we turned off the TV (Two nights in a row). They never brought a new phone. When we booked the room we requested to have a Microwave placed in the room. We were told "Sure, we'll put you on the list" or something that lead us to believe we would get a Microwave. When we got to our room there was no microwave. We called the front desk and were told individual rooms don't have microwaves and we could use the community microwave located in the next building. So they lied to us about being able to have one in our room during booking. Red Flag. They gave us a free coupon for two breakfasts which was nice, then they brought my girlfriend someone else's order. Major Red Flag follows: When we booked the room several months ago, we paid a deposit or first night bill. The remaining balance PLUS a $50 per day "Incidental Fee" was billed the day we checked in. No problem right? The "Incidentals" would be credited back when we checked out, right? The night before we checked-out our Credit Card was charged an additional $1100 plus. The following day during check out the front desk tried to act like it was totally normal (I think she called the charge a "Place Holder" or "Funds confirmation" or some BS. When we pointed out, we had already been billed for the full amount 5 days earlier, she said something to the effect of "Those funds ($1100) will not be charged to your card" even though the Bank shows the $1100 charge as pending). When asked why the charge was there since we already paid in full the day we checked in, she talked in circles and could not provide a reasonable explanation. We called the Riverhouse Lodge today because the $1100 is still showing as pending. They said the charge has been "released" by the Riverhouse and the issue is with our Bank, not their bogus charge of $1100. Avoid this place. Someone needs to monitor/supervise the pool area. Too many unsupervised kids of all ages getting a bit wild and ruining it for other. Kids acting like they were at home in their own pool. In some cases parents were present and said nothing. We had beach balls and Frisbees nearly hit on several occasions. When I asked the kid to be careful he gave me a blank look. Before you say "It's the parents responsibility", we have too many entitled people these days, they require help. read more

This was one of the worst stays I have ever had at any place ever! I work nights and needed a place to stay for two days, thos place looked nice online so I had my company book it. I usually get off work between 5 am and 7 am. On day one around 1pm the fire alarm went off and I hurried to leave the place but by the time I got dressed the alarm was shut off, so an inconvenience but no big deal. The day I was supposed to leave i got back from work at 7am and had to check out at 11am, so I could get roughly 3 1/2 hours sleep to leave after taking a shower . At 9am house keeping was hitting keys on my door and i let them know I was there, so they went away. Mind you I have a 4 hour drive home and im trying to get as much sleep as possible. I had my alarm set for 10:30am so I could be ready to check out no later than 11am as per there check out policy. At 10:20 am they knock on the door and wake me up again. This is completely no how a lodge/hotel should be doing business, I felt like I was being forced out early and because of all this I got even less sleep than I was planning , I maybe got 2 hours sleep after working a very long shift and then have to drive home. I would not recommend staying here, apparently there 11am check out is more like whenever the housekeeping wants to boot you out. 5 thumbs down, stay away! read more

I left a Bose speaker in a super obvious spot next to the television and was told it couldn't be found. I jumped through the hoops and called multiple times. It surely didn't vanish into thin air. Onus on me for not doing a double check prior to leaving. And, the communication about the issue was subpar at best. The restaurant is nice, albeit the $15 pour of Crown Royale hit strongly. Such a nice place to stay in North Bend to be close to our nephews' & nieces' places in the Tumalo countryside! The hotel appears to have undergone a recent renovation and the motel-like exteriors belie rooms that are roomy, well-appointed & very comfortable. Classy job! The first floor rooms overlooking the Deschutes River even have a private deck with an attractive & efficient fire pit. Very cool! Perhaps our favorite feature, however, is the bedding. Beautiful cotton sheets & numerous comfy pillows are topped by a thin downy comforter and a lovely blanket-like spread, the combination offering just the right warmth & coverage. We are so tired of hotels that have a bed with only a sheet and a big, bulky comforter - No blanket! We either roast or freeze! Thank you, Riverhouse Lodge! P.S. The on-site restaurant, Currents, has some of the best food around, with big portions! Scrumptious breakfasts! We definitely recommend this place. read more

What a fun spot! we ate in the bar (place was packed on a Sat night). I had the best Halibut fish and chips I've ever had-which, as a commercial fisherman's daughter is saying a lot. Even busy service was straightforward and prompt. Def will recommend this spot. read more

I was traveling for work and tired , made the reservation on the go, paid more, and was excited to work at the hotel with visions of the babbling River. Nope, up the hill in a parking lot. My fault I guess. Just be aware and read the reviews. As I sit here with the noisy AC on, I see I'm going to be lulled to sleep by the pleasant whining of motorcycles racing up the busy retail street facing my room. Ok, so they did put lipstick on a pig and did some ok finishes on an old motel type building, and my room is clean. The motel 6 was $150, so maybe the price here is not so bad for what you get. I was definitely disappointed. First getting to my room, I kept thinking I got taken for a suckered and what a dump!! Now, I guess I should have read reviews closer and it is just ok. read more

Requested rooms for our group of 14 people a year in advance and they did not honor our requests to be in the same building with Riverview rooms, apparently a year in advance is not enough time to make that work. Very disappointing. Secondly, the hotel smells and in the rooms, at least mine ,smelled like sweaty man which is in the linens especially in pillows. Oddly, they will not do any kind of servicing of rooms unless it is specifically requested so things like additional coffee grounds or towels, etc. must be specifically requested. At over $350 a night, this is a scam and doesn't even vaguely resemble a resort in any way. Room is stinky and dirty. This place is old and rundown and not as advertised. No wonder it was the only place with vacancy over the Fourth of July weekend. No valet, no porter or bellman. The pool was so gross and murky, couldn't get a cocktail at the pool, all they had was beer (even though cocktails were on the pool menu). No room service. 45 minute wait at the restaurant (even though it was half empty, due to "small kitchen?!" and even then patio seating was "first come, first served". "River view room had no river view because the property was not properly landscaped. We had to find and arrange activities on our own. Nothing about this place even remotely resembles a resort. Zero resort amenities. And to top it all off, we had to pay a resort fee! Just don't fall for it...avoid The Riverhouse. read more

My experience at this establishment was very disappointing. I booked a riverview room, and paid a premium for the amenity. Instead, they put me in a room with a view of the parking lot. At the end of my stay, I was in a hurry to leave the horrible room, and I mistakenly left a bag filled with my personal belongings. I realized my error while driving home. By the time I called, I was 100 miles away. Housekeeping found my items and took them to the front desk. The staff told me they would mail me my belongings the next business day. Nearly 2 weeks later, I have nearly given up any hope of seeing my stuff again. Instead of sending me my found belongings, the hotel sent me a link to an automated service, which claims to be searching for my things. What a bunch of idiots. My things were promptly found and returned to the front desk! Just send me my stuff like you promised nearly 2 weeks ago! I have never been so thoroughly disappointed in a hotel. If you choose to stay here, adjust your expectations. Don't assume they will fulfill their promises! read more

They have separate buildings that make up the hotel. It feels like they tried to make it feel like cabins but still feels like apartments to me. Its nice to have the river right there. The sound its very relaxing. The staff was for the most part friendly and attentive but nothing out of the ordinary customer service, just a "I need this job" attitude. The manager was a little on the defensive side when I showed him the pictures and said "the cleaning products make that effect" yeah whatever makes you sleep at night buddy. I know what dirty looks like. They upgraded me to a better suite but the bed was still uncomfortable. Mattresses need to be changed on both rooms as they were lumpy. Bartender in the AM was nice but not very talkative or responsive. The both bartenders on the last night were really friendly and helpful, especially while selecting my drink choice. They were funny an engaging with everyone that was there siting on the bar. The food at the bar was mixed. I loved the egg Benedict and I added avocado. I was really sad when I grabbed the last bite. I wanted more! The flatbread wasn't bad tasting but it was definitely hard and not very enjoyable. It gets cold really fast so it gets hard really fast. Had to switch rooms due to originally room having pee stains all over. Not the hotels fault but bad dog owners. It's on the first floor with a door straight to the river, how do you even let your dog pee inside !!! People suck. Ambiance is amazing, hip, cozy and literally on the river, I mean what else can you truly ask for. A really great place and I will stay here again. I would give them 5 stars but this tile job ?!?? We stayed in March 2022 for a conference. The front staff was friendly and the lobby/bar/restaurant was sleek/modern. The conference rooms were across the street, but the walkway bypassed the road (yay!). It would have been a 3-star review since there were some areas of improvement, but the room location made up for it. Here's the bad: 1) Sliding glass door was very difficult to open. Good thing we're young/strong and without physical disabilities. There's no way any elderly person would be able to get that thing open. 2) Floor in the room was dirty. Socks became black when walking without shoes. 3) White dog fur on the bed sheets. They attached to my black legging. Since I'm allergic, made my eyes water and nose run. Here's the good: 1) Maintenance is quick to respond! Less than 5 minutes. They fixed the issue in less than 10 minutes. 2) Room 2106 back patio opened right in front of the river. 3) You can fish the river right in front of the room, as long as you have a fishing license. 4) Plenty of parking. 5) For only $223/night, I've stayed in worse places. Caveat: 1) Didn't use the pool/spa. 2) Didn't eat at the restaurant 3) Didn't expect this to be a high-end resort (it's literally Bend...) 4) Didn't use room service or house-keeping. read more

After staying at an absolutely deluxe resort in WA, coming here to stay at Riverhouse was jarring for us. I booked this stay on our way back home from WA, because of the Deschutes and how lovely I thought it would be this time of year. Unfortunately, the lovely Deschutes was literally the only good thing about our stay here. When we arrived, check-in was weirdly specific about the incidental charges, but we brushed it off because we were motivated to see the room and the property. Our room was across the Deschutes from the check in area, in building D. I booked us a king, river facing, however there were massive trees in the way, and you really couldn't see much of anything from the room itself. The building we were in absolutely reeked. The smell was overwhelming like dirty kitty litter, a gas leak, and a bag of soggy ripe gym clothes. Thankfully our room only smelled like a stale dorm, but that was the least of our worries. The bed was hard as a rock, and someone described it online as being as hard as just sleeping directly on the floor and I couldn't agree more. I called the front desk to see if there was something they could do, but they were curt, dismissive and unhelpful. Thankfully we only had to spend one night here, because it was horrible. Yes, the river was incredible, and if I had to review this poorly aging and dated property just on experiencing the river, five stars. That said, the rest of the amenities including my river view room with no view, horrible stench and rock-hard bed, were all not worth the price, and I absolutely would not stay here again. Ok so the pictures definitely make the place look much better than it actually is but that doesn't mean they are not good . we planned a very last minute trip to Bend during Christmas, and as expected most places were already booked up . We were lucky to snag a couple river facing rooms last minute . The rooms are huge but mediocre and have a very old boring vibe. The bathrooms especially need some work . It's a reasonably priced place with a bunch of added fees but I don't think they are as nice as they advertise .The common spaces are beautiful especially the restaurant with the river view. Location is amazing because its close to the center of town and a very short drive to most places . They also had EV chargers which worked in our favor .There was no room service at all for the four days we stayed . we had to call them even for the basics like fresh towels ,coffee etc. The hot tub ,pool area is very dated and even though I did use the hot-tub,I would recommend against it . They really need to clean that thing up. Parking was a mixed experience because some nights we could park right in front of the building but on others the parking lots would get full by 6 pm. read more

I was here for a conference and had a wonderful experience. The staff was kind, accommodating and professional. The food was top notch, beautifully displayed. The meals were delicious and not like your typical banquet food. Everything was always set up early. The team here was an intricate part of the success of our event. I would love to see some upgrades to the convention center as it's a little outdated. In regard to the hotel, front desk ladies were sweet, the rooms were comfortable, happy hour was great. My favorite meals were the delicious salads and flatbreads! You do have to request for room service which was not a big deal. I would definitely go back:) read more
