My family and I arrived on 5/31/19 for a week's stay. We were greeted as if we were arriving for a family visit. Michelle and her staff were simply a warm welcome to an unforgettable stay. From the house cleaning staff to the maintenance crew, all greeted us and continually showed their appreciation for choosing their site. I'd like to give a shout out to Timothy (night shift manager) who was an excellent listener and understanding, to two of the housekeepers who showed up to our room and were delightful to interact with and were both professional and caring. I'm most grateful to our most excellent "host" THEE PACIFIC OCEAN!! Our room was perched just so we view and hear its' MAGNIFICENCE. My family and I felt secure and very comfortable in this place. THANK YOU FOR A RELAXING AND INVIGORATING VACATION! Two SOLID THUMBS UP!!! The LIVELYs

A room with a nice ocean view.

We were only there one night, but I have to tell you, it was a really nice hotel experience! I reserved the Family (fireplace) suite. The hotel has two floors and this was on floor 2. We had a nice roomy balcony with two chairs for sitting in while soaking in the beauty. The room itself was really large, with a king bed in the main and a queen, I believe, in a separate room. TVs in the main room and the bedroom. The fireplace was gas, gave off nice heat at night as it got chilly outside, and added to the ambiance. This hotel has breakfast! This was also a pleasant experience. They had the usual cereals and yogurts, but also had big waffles and biscuits and gravy! The food was good! We brought a bottle of wine ourselves, but I did notice they sell wine and beer in the lobby, which is nice, right? I definitely would (and will) stay there again the next time we are in the area. I forgot to take pics of the room itself. Sorry about that. You can check out their hotel website to see it. The next time I stay there I will fix this! In the meantime, here are a couple shots from the balcony of our room. The staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. All in all, a really nice time. Thanks, Coho!

Location-wise, it's conveniently nestled between Depoe Bay and Newport, making it a great base for exploring the Oregon coast. Day trips and sightseeing are easy from here. We stayed in a first-floor room. While every room likely offers lovely views, privacy was a bit of a challenge. We had looked forward to visiting this hotel for nearly a decade, especially for the spa on the balcony overlooking the cove--but we weren't comfortable using it due to direct visibility from the restaurant. The patio furniture was also quite firm, which made it tough to enjoy long stretches on the balcony--even with that incredible view. Inside the room, the layout and size were excellent. We appreciated the extra space to stretch out, and the oversized shower and double sinks were a plus. Our room appeared to include accessibility features, which may explain why the toilet area lacked a door despite the generous bathroom space. That said, there were a few areas where the room showed its age. The carpet had visibly shrunk around the edges, and the furniture felt a bit dated. Climate control was also an issue--there's no way to adjust the temperature beyond opening the door. This led to a bit of a tug-of-war between too hot and too cold, which definitely affected our sleep. Unfortunately, the coffee maker didn't work properly, and since there's no staff available after hours, there wasn't a way to get a replacement. The pillows weren't our favorite, though the bed itself was very comfortable. Overall, if you're planning a visit, the view is well worth it. Just go in with realistic expectations about some of the amenities and comfort features.

The staff at check-in and housekeeping were friendly and professional. They were eager to assist if any need would arrise. This property recently just completed a renovation taking care of minor touchups as well as replacing the soft goods, just in time for the busy summer season. My wife and I loved this location because of the convenient dining options, ample on-property parking and short walk to the beach. We will definitely be back when visiting again, as well as recommend it to friends and family.

Quarters can be exchanged in the lobby. Cookies are nightly in lobby 5-7pm Continental bfast was 8-10am. Nice selection: oatmeal with toppings, yogurt, fresh fruits, mini donuts+muffins, bagels w/strawberry or regular cream cheese (and toaster), string cheese, power packs of dried fruits to take on the go, individual cereals with white or chocolate milk, coffee and tea, a water bottle fill station. They also have beach blankets and beach bonfire blankets to borrow. They have a fire pit area with loungers and area to cook crab too. As well as hose stations to rinse off the sandy feets. The customer service here is AMAZING. You're treated like family instead of just a guest. Just be aware the lobby is not 24hrs. So if you need things, gotta take care of it before they close at 9/10pm. The location is ideal for walking around the Taft District. We admired all the adorable cottages along the way. We much preferred walking to places and leaving our vehicle parked was a bonus. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact, we might be planning another stay for our 25th anniversary! Job well done Looking Glass! You have our stamp of approval. Love this place and the Oregon Coast.

We had one of the dogs allowed rooms (which they call "cabins") on the courtyard. It had wood-paneled walls and ceiling that made it feel like a ship's cabin, and vintage paintings of ships and other nautical touches to back it up. There were 2 rooms, a fully closing door between them, one with a king and one with a queen bed, and an adorable tiny kitchenette with a pretty tile backsplash. There were ceramic plates and mugs, glasses, and silverware, along with a tiny sponge and dishwashing soap to clean them. The bathroom had interesting tile. All the windows opened to catch the ocean breeze. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quiet all night. I slept great! The pet relief area is actually a nice little place in a parklike area behind the building near a fun hybrid mini golf-croquet course that looked fun to play but we didn't. I bet kids would love it. This area also has a firepit where you can build a fire and toast marshmallows and be maybe a little noisier than at one of the two firepits in the courtyard. S'more fixings are included in the room. The courtyard has an old boat as decoration, right next to a sandbox filled with toys. The amenities room has a large library of dvds and the rooms have dvd players to watch them with. There also earplugs, razors, toothpaste and brushes in case you need them, and a washer and dryer you can use for free. The restaurant has a small menu of pizza, wings, and salad, and a small bar. The beach is about 2 blocks away, then down a long, very steep set of stairs. I wouldn't recommend it for those with limited mobility, or for carrying a huge load of stuff for a day at the beach. But the beach itself is gorgeous, well worth the trek. We had good Chinese food from a restaurant down the street-- the bestnsalt and pepper tofu I've had in a long time, actually. In short, we stayed one night but this would be a great place to spend a few days relaxing, playing on the beach, and spending time with family or friends. I would love to stay here again someday.

The hotel structure and location is beautiful. The rooms are HUGE and the size and layout alone feel like you're at a large resort. They've been nicely updated and felt clean which is great. Decor choices range from super cool, unique, & nice to kind of silly or odd. Especially the eclectic collection of dishware in the rooms. They have a very decently sized outdoor pool that we really enjoyed swimming in during a rainy and freezing cold February on the Oregon Coast. The pool was a consistently comfortable 83 degrees and you can see the steam coming off of it. This is a major perk of this hotel option. Also a good hot tub and sauna to utilize. You're right on the beach, so amenity wise I don't know if there's much missing besides firepits, but you could easily make your own on the sand. Staff was either just okay, not super great, or fine. Nothing stands out as far as service, and I see that echoed in quite a lot of reviews. It just doesn't seem like people really enjoy working here which smells of a greater issue than we as guests might see, and that's a bummer. It's an older building and some areas of the hotel seem dingey and dirty, especially the pretty ugly looking carpet in the elevators. Remember when I said there are cons to this hotel that I am still trying to put my finger on? I kept saying this hotel was "almost nice". Something about it seems off and I think it's the areas of age and dirt + the lackluster staff bringing the vibes down. You've got so many mom and pop type places to stay at the coast that offer warm cookies or popcorn in the lobby, beach toys to rent, free movies to check out in the rooms, board games, and even happy hours in the lobby or smores in the firepits..This hotel would be outstanding if they added some whimsy & charm like this!
