Our stay at WorldMark Depoe Bay was absolutely breathtaking. We stayed in a 2-bedroom condo with a couch bed on the top floor, and the ocean view right from the balcony was unreal. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves and waking up to the stunning coastline felt like a dream. The condo itself felt practically brand new -- everything was spotless, modern, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. The space was perfect for relaxing with family while still feeling luxurious and cozy. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views, this is definitely the place. Urgent! Families with kids, please be aware. If this resort puts you in Unit A, make sure they don't place you all the way in the corner. My son almost got run over by a car because it's right next to a busy highway. We raised this safety concern, yet they still assigned us to the same area. As a family with young children, this is extremely dangerous. Please be cautious and request a different unit if you're traveling with kids. It's time for the resort to take guest safety seriously before someone gets seriously hurt. read more

The facility has changed allot from when I first stayed at the resort back in 2007. They have removed allot of the extras first of all...there used to be placemats for the table, basic spices and condiments in the cupboard. They used to have grills on the balcony. All the little extras like that are gone. The tvs are small for the living room and you have to pay for WiFi and if you don't you have virtually no phone or computer...no internet. And yet their fees are raised every single year. I am not impressed with world mark. I wouldn't ever suggest that someone buy in. The setting of the resort is nice. That's why I still will go. But I resent what we pay for maintenance each year. read more

I have stayed here (and other WM Oregon Coast sites) many times pre-Yelp. I prefer this central coast town for location and more laid back feel. Depoe Bay is known as the tiniest harbor and perfect for whale watching. Last visit was back in 2015. Returned for much needed vacay around the Labor Day weekend. I'm an ancient Club Esprit/Trendwest/WorldMark owner which has morphed with Wyndham and Travel & Leisure. It has its pros & cons. I booked this 2 bdrm top floor suite 13 months ago. Last time I went out of state for vacay was pre-pandemic, so very long overdue and looking forward to checking out old and new spots. Great reception staff, resort site amenties, well maintained, and great location to other sites north & south along Hwy 101. Yes, there's the random timeshare owner's educational spiel. This is a wonderful resort property, very clean, well appointed and decorated, many amenities like pools, spas, gym, tennis, basketball/pickleball court, ping pong etc. All units have gorgeous oceanfront views. All 3bd 3ba units are on the corners with maximum ocean views. They were roomy, clean, bright & light, and we always had fresh towels and supplies during our week stay. The resort provided a pickleball net & 4 wooden paddles. We set up in the basketball court and had lots of fun, though it can get windy outdoors here. All in all we had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend. read more

Who doesn't want to stay at the coast In a nice room overlooking the ocean? Well. These rooms are just like a condominium. We've stayed here a few time's and other than when they take 3 days to power wash the roof. It's always been nice. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and the room was almost as big as our house. (Our house is a 3 bedroom but it's not that big of a house.) The master suite has a huge bathroom. The kitchen is a good size as well. I could easily cook for a dozen in this kitchen. Every room has it's own balcony and a long time ago, they had B.B.Q.'s but they have all been removed. My cousin would cook up a storm of culinary delights. It was awesome. Every time we stay here, we never want to leave and we all talk about the next time we can come back. read more

My family was blessed with the wonderful gift of staying at this resort for 3 days, first and foremost, I want to take the time to recognize ERIKA, she was working with my family from the beginning, and was absolutely WONDERFUL, friendly, on top of things, and an amazing person to work with during our trip! The resort is GORGEOUS! My favorite part, is the outdoor pool facing the ocean! It's been amazing to enjoy the pool/spa nightly, while watching the ocean waves crashing into the cliff! The room was beyond exceptionally clean, the amenities offered here are above and beyond! Depoe Bay is very cute, lots of little shops to enjoy, great coffee, and treats! You have two towns N and S of town, within 20ish minutes to get other stuff needed, including a Walmart! I will absolutely be coming back here to vacation with my family, and I'd say this has become one of my favorite resorts so far in Oregon! read more

Make no mistake, the Depoe Bay Worldmark is the best Worldmark resorts along the Oregon coast, and one of the best Worldmarks overall. Seaside might boast that it's much larger and it's somehow a "premier" resort...whatever that means, but the view at Depoe Bay Worldmark is exceptional. So why not 5 stars? When checking in, most Worldmarks have time share sales to con you into a 90-minute "owner update" which is nothing more than a sales pitch to get current owners to buy more credits. For a non-owner, they will attempt to sell you a timeshare that is 4 times as much as can be had from someone desperately wanting out of Worldmark. They take advantage of your pleasantries and your "no thank you's" by asking additional questions, offering more coupons...anything to keep you from walking out the door. They ask personal questions that's absolutely none of their business. I think next time I'm going to shout out loud "I'm here with my mistress Mary Swanson for a 2-night booze filled sex orgy!" By the way, think about it; If a "parking pass" is really necessary, which it isn't, the front desk would issue you a parking pass, not time share sales. The "parking pass" is just a ruse to get you to walk over to timeshare sales. It's best to just walk straight out the door. Unlike Worldmark Seaside, the Depoe Bay sales people usually won't yell at you, chase you out the door, or take photos of your car license plate attempting to intimidate. It's an unpleasant beginning to a vacation and frankly, time share sales doesn't care. Really, once your rid of time share sales, and have your room keys, the Depoe Bay property is fabulous. 2 pools and jacuzzis on each end plus an outdoor pool and jacuzzi west of the front office. It's a short walk into the town of Depoe Bay. You might see whales depending upon the time of year. If you are lucky you will see a whale come into the little inlet just south of the phase 2 buildings feeding on kelp. The units are kept up nicely however make no mistake, this is not a Marriott or Hyatt level type category. All Worldmarks are value for money. Nice, functional, clean, and relaxing. There is no air conditioning, but hey, it's the Oregon coast. As with many Worldmarks there is no free wi-fi unless you are a Travel Share member, and Travel Share is a waste of money. Free wi-fi will probably never happen so if 5G isn't working, you will have to pay Resort Net a nightly or weekly fee. Unfortunately, the individual grills on the patio have been removed, so it's now community grills across the parking lot. Hopefully one of these days, they will upgrade the tennis court to pickle ball. read more

I think my wife and I are done going to the sales presentations during our Worldmark stays. In the past, we have had to hound Worldmark to get the incentives they promised us. And I mean HOUND them...for months and months. It's obvious they count on most people running out of juice and giving up, or simply forgetting. But this last one takes the cake. We told the marketing guy for Depot Bay / Glen Eden that we weren't interested and we told him why. He kept calling and texting with larger incentives, until he finally hit the right button. One free RCI week. We were dumb enough to get excited about that and discussed plans to use it. Went to the presentation. Received the emailed voucher. Got home and went about the business of joining RCI and reserving our free RCI week. HA! What a joke! a) Must be used within 90 days. Who books a week's vacation that soon, with all the stuff real life throws in your way? Still, we thought, we'll manage, and it'll be great! b) Limited inventory. Surprise, surprise. Not just limited...there was nothing in our state AT ALL, and nothing in the closest adjoining state either. And only a couple of places in the other adjoining states. Okay, we said, let's look at those! c) Upgrade costs. Most of the available (within 90 days) properties required HUGE "upgrade" costs in the neighborhood of $1000. Wait what? I called RCI. Apparently, the only properties that don't have huge upgrade costs only show up if you're booking them within 30 days of your stay. 30 days!!!! And we thought 90 days was a problem! Well, we bucked up and said, lets look at what IS available without upgrade costs in the next 30 days that is close enough to drive to. d) Crap locations too far away. There were one or two available locations to choose from, and neither was less than the equivalent of two states away. A hotel room with microwave...UGH. And a set of cabins in the woods in a super remote area with multiple reviews of ancient mattresses with springs showing through and rusty pots and pans and much more. Bottom line...Worldmark can forget about talking us into going to ANY more presentations. And by the way...the last two that we went to were VERY poorly attended. Can anyone figure out why? The location is awesome, it's right next to the water. There is no beach access at this location, you have to drive to that. The employees are very helpful and accommodating. No pets (except service dogs) are allowed nor smoking. We love to watch the whales 100-300 yards away from the units' patio and windows!! read more

Gayle's sister is a WorldMark time share points maven, so much so that they spend months at their properties every year. One of Erin and Jim's favorites is the WorldMark Depoe Bay, as it's a reasonable drive from their Tri-Cities WA home, the Oregon Coast here is gorgeous, and they love whale watching. At the same time, time-share condos are not Gayle's or my first choices as we're the cute boutique hotel in a foreign village type. Yet, when we receive an invitation to this WorldMark, who are we to refuse? We just returned from a week-long stay here, and with Gayle's Mom along for the ride. The 5 of us had a great time and mostly hanging out on the property. Gayle and I did take long walks into town and to the nearby State Park, and I drove off to nearby Newport one day and hung out at Nye Beach. The family also had a "kick ass" dinner at the Eden Hall/Side Door Cafe at Gleneden Beach, played lots of card games together, and did daily gym/pool time. And an initial Costco Salem run and the nearby Oregon Liquor store keep our accommodations well supplied. We all slept well and the time went by just too fast. As we were there with many Oregon COVID restrictions still in place, I'd like to commend WorldMark staff who made this all work from cleaning to check-in, to all those questions in between. We learned early that thing may be open, but having staff to make all this happen are a rare resource these days. Thank You! read more

This place offers million dollar views of the mighty Pacific Ocean. The units are tastefully decorated. The furniture isn't great- pretty typical and uncomfortable "hotel/motel" grade. I'd like to see them switch to something more comfy! Beds are very comfortable. It is lacking in technology- no smart features. This is by far our favorite resort in the system. Been here 3 times in the last 4 years. I still give 5 stars but I beg you to put up signs to have these nasty people with dogs to pick up the poop. It is everywhere. Maybe put out doggie poop bag stations but this the most disgusting. Could barely walk to the path from our patio. Even path covered in it. If people are allowed to bring their support animals they should be FORCED to clean up after them or stay home. This was a better and cleaner resort before. The views are breathtaking and so many whales and seals on the rocks sunning themselves. Also Canadian geese flicks hanging out and grazing. Love it here. read more

Two nighter in the middle of the week in December, so place was pretty quite. Check in was fast and easy, not what we expected. Room had a great view and was very clean. Enjoyed our full ocean view. Staff was attentive and we didn't challenge them with much. Our only need was a second pack of coffee and they gave us two. Best views in Depoe Bay. Spacious rooms, expansive views and great sound of the ocean crashing on the rocks below. Perfect. We stayed in Bldg F at the end of Phase one. These units have close up Ocean views along with jacuzzi tubs. Our 2 bedroom condo was clean and comfortable. The rooms are quiet. Large master bath. Floor to ceiling windows on ocean side offering full ocean views. Lots to love about this place. What we didn't love was the kitchen was small. You could barely have 2 people in there at one time. You could not load the dishwasher easily because it blocked access to the sink where the dishes were. Some drawers wouldn't open fully because the stove door stood out too far. We also didn't like that the master bedroom didn't open onto the patio for full ocean views and sounds. Instead it opened into the living room. Other small things that weren't big deals but noticeable were that we didn't like that the toilet paper which was was so frail and thin. The bath towels were also thin and not soft and comfy. Overall we loved the location between Newport and Lincoln City. We loved dining at Side door cafe and the Horn. We loved the expansive view and the crashing sounds of the ocean right off our patio. read more

We had a pretty decent stay here - this is one of the nicer WorldMarks that I have been to. My husband and I had a few issues at this location, but they were solved by management. I really like the location of this WorldMark - you can get up and down the coast very easily. Both Newport and Lincoln City are not too far away. We even ventured down to Yachats and Florence for a day and didn't get back up to Depoe Bay too awfully late. If you're flying into/out of Portland, however, this is quite a drive - so prepare for that fact. We also enjoyed the many area beaches - Gleneden, which is right up the road was a very nice beach that we frequented. Each room does have nice big windows and does face the ocean and have a patio or a balcony. Great for sunsets, great for whale watching, (we saw many!) and great for watching/hearing the waves crash against the rocks. The resort itself has three pools - one heated outdoor, one indoor-outdoor and one indoor. They also have a basketball court, a tennis court, multiple things in their game room and all sorts of other amenities. The issues that we had were with housekeeping - many things were missed in our unit that should have been provided which caused me to call down to the front desk on several occasions. In the end though, I did contact the manager, (a very nice guy who strives for excellence) and he made it right. The maintenance guy, Jerry, who came late one night to fix two issues was incredibly nice, prompt and explanatory - he did a great job. The only other gripe that I have is that we had to pay for our internet, which was a real bummer. All in all, I think my husband and I would stay here again - we had a lot of fun every day of our trip and got to see a lot of beautiful places and things. I'm reserving a star for the housekeeping and internet issues. read more

The resort itself has the WOW factor! Beautifully located along the bay. All units facing the water. Staff friendly and took care of things we needed addressed. A major plus was our own view of the whales passing by. Make sure to pack your binoculars for a better and closer look. We ended up ordering a new pair and had it overnighted to the resort without problems. Also visit the towns close by..Lincoln City and Newport (there's a Safeway in both cities) and a big Walmart in Newport. Cons: Housekeeping need to do a better job cleaning and preparing the rooms. There was a broken piece of glass on the kitchen floor and nasty slimy grime around the faucets. The sliding door was broken and some of the burners were disconnected (fixed by staff right away). The vacuum cleaner was also broken and was replaced. I'm a clean freak so I always end up disinfecting the whole place when I move in and that's how I found all the issues above. Although it's a long drive from CA, I will definitely go back. read more

Depoe Bay has gorgeous scenery of rocky cliffs and the occasional whale. And absolutely no beach. Luckily this resort has done a good job of making a beautiful pool that is indoor/outdoor. They keep it on the warm side which is appreciated but the hot tub doesn't feel like it is hot enough. They are doing some construction on the building next to us but we haven't hardly noticed with the sound of the waves. This resort is literally ten yards from the ocean. You feel like you are on a cruise looking out the windows here because all you see is the ocean. This location is in between Lincoln city to the north and Newport Beach to the south so you have to drive a bit to get to beaches and to window shopping. The rooms themselves are comfortable except that instead of a fold down bed in the living room, there is a fold out couch. Not nearly as comfortable. The reason for the low rating is first because you have drive to get to a beach and more important my because I haven't gotten more than one bar on my cell phone anywhere here in Depoe Bay. It's like there is a weird dead spot right where this resort is located. I think it's crazy that Worldmark has a resort 3 miles north in Gleneden with great cell phone coverage and then you come to this charming secluded location and your cell phone becomes useless. And I have Verizon... Be sure to wear sunscreen because even with fog you can get sunburned. read more

1st time here, we were impressed with the size of the Resort & the cleanliness. The staff is very friendly and helpful. 3 pools, 2 outside and 1 inside. All rooms face the ocean, with patios and bbq's. We were in a 2 bedroom, master has on suite. On suite and the kitchen were small but functional. There was NO stand up shower!!!!, Why, don't know. ... 2 very small (kids) tubs with very low shower heads, very uncomfortable to wash hair. The resort has elevators, which some do not, that's a plus. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking but the pans are ca-ca, so if you can bring your own. We will be back read more

It's a beautiful location with an amazing view of the Ocean. The layout of the rooms are nice and overall very spacious. You're also walking distance to town and the various restaurants and shops. The carpet and furniture fabric are dated and smell a little funky, but it's not insufferable. For some reason, they put a dilapidated basketball court between the rooms and the ocean, obscuring the otherwise gorgeous views. The sound of kids incessantly dribbling basketballs and clanking bricks off the one functional hoop ruins the peaceful vibe. Looks and sounds more like a street court than a luxury oceanfront property. Its hard to believe someone thought this was a good idea. read more

We are here for the peacefulness of the pace, the majestic view from our room - all with balconies (Stage One, section J, floor level 2), and the time just to relax and unwind. And that's what we got! We have been on fun filled day vacations. Something planned every minute. Depoe Bay let's you relax. Contrary to other reviews, we have had, thankfully, zero issues with the Internet. Yes, the kitchen area is small, but the dining area is large and the living room adequate. A larger kitchen would make those rooms smaller. I think WorldMark designed everything perfectly. For those who said their rooms were noisy -- those guests were here in the summer time, where naturally, there are more people. More people. More noise. Just a fact. Loved the humongous bathtub. I used it twice and I rarely take a bath. I woke up every morning to the beautiful sound and view of the ocean. Then I turned on the gas fireplace. My own utopia. There are not a lot of restaurants in town. We did like the Chowder Bowl for lunch. Not cheap, but huge delicious portions. I really enjoyed the appetizer crab cakes for lunch. Today we will be going to lunch at the Tidal Raves Seafood Grill. It is highly rated and friends have recommended it to us. Other meals during the week, we cooked and just chilled. Lastly, I would recommend a drive out to Tillamook and the beautiful waterfalls at Munson Creek Falls State Natural State site. About a 1/3 of an easy mile walk. (Arrive early as parking is very limited.) This is a relaxing spot for a couple that just wants to get away and spend quality time together. What a beautiful concept, eh? Enjoy! read more

Let's just say this is a beautiful location-- Staffed by crooks and liars. My folks have been members of Worldmark for years and with every stay at every location -- there's always pressure to attend sales presentations, to purchase additional "points" or "membership levels" and despite the interruptions, the revelations of offers that are only good during that visit, the calls back to the unit to check on how things are going--but really to get my folks to purchase more! more! more!--it is endless pressure. Many of these sales presentations I've attended with them and in one instance after a "two hour" "friends of owners" presentation in Las Vegas, that turned into a five hour ordeal, the sales rep became verbally abusive to my brother-in-law when they choose not to purchase their own membership. During a June stay at the Worldmark Depot Bay location, to celebrate my parents 53rd wedding anniversary, my folks and I agreed to attend a sales presentation and several promises were made by the sales reps regarding the increasingly difficult challenge of reserving properties less than a year in advance and the reality that many of these properties, such as Depot Bay, are impossible to get into. But for laying down an additional nearly $30,000 and by becoming "diamond level" members, the representatives promised my folks they'd get special help in accessing properties--especially for a medical event that is to happen in early 2015 in Florida. Instead, what my folks have experienced when they actually tried to schedule their time in Florida as "diamond level" members were denials from Depot Bay Management that their sales staff ever made such statements ( even though the conversation was witnessed by three people ), the distribution of mostly useless "RCI certificates" -- that have black out dates for most of the year in southern FL--and finally, after hours on the phone, finally(!) the generous potential to book rooms at a Florida Super 8 Hotel through a worldmark Wyndam partner--- but for an additional $2500. Nice. Way to exceed expectations. To add insult to injury, my folks have since been assured by reps at other Worldmark locations ( Birch Bay for instance ) that if my folks had only purchased their additional points at their locations, they'd be considered "new members" and these sales reps would have easily secured the time our family needs in Florida. Subsequently, since confronted about their deceptive and dishonest sales tactics, the staff at Depot Bay has been nasty, denied that their sales reps used such tactics ( again--witnessed by three people ) and this demeaning experience has left my 80-year-old father, who still works, feeling as if he's just squandered his retirement investment in Worldmark. Oh sure they'll tell ya anything at the sales presentation-- even magically promise to book your preferred "new owners", first-choice, location at the sales presentation--- but once that contract is signed, suddenly no one has any ability to follow through on their promises. read more

Visited this place during a family vacation it's wonderful. The staff is very friendly the views are unbelievable and the rooms are big and fully stocked. When you stay here they have 2 pools a indoor and a outdoor. They have a community center that has a workout room and games like pool ($0.75 per game) or ping pong (free checkout paddles and ball at office). A lot of previous visitors as well as the staff say there is a pod of whales that linger around the cove. There are many things to do but everything is a drive away since this little town is kind of desolate but it's nice. read more

I read so many negative things about this resort that I wasn't sure what awaited us! Yes, the kitchen is small, but when I go on vacation this isn't where I want to spend my time! Our unit had a full-size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, sink, stove/oven. That's all we need! I appreciate more space in the dining/living room, and the porch overlooking the ocean? Who would give THAT up for a bigger kitchen? The unit is well furnished, clean, and the staff here has been very kind. Getting the "parking pass" is a little stumbling block on check-in, as they want to sign you up for an "education class". We heeded that warning, said we would not wait for the "pass" and would return to get it later (when not so busy). There are 3 swimming pools, one indoor-outdoor. The water is pleasantly warm. The views are simply spectacular, and I can imagine with the high tide/low tide changes, it would never get boring! We even saw a few whales in the evening (very near)! Internet service is not good, but that's not what I go on vacation for either, to spend time on the Internet! Perhaps it is just where we are located at the resort, but it's okay. Depoe Bay has some dining/shopping, but it looks like Newport is where I would do my grocery shopping. I saw a big Fred Meyer and Safeway there. We can't wait to come back here again for longer than just 1 night! read more

CAVE UNDER "A" BUILDING...felt like earthquake! Of all the WorldMark resorts we like Depoe Bay the best! The majestic waves crashing on the rocky cliffs in such close proximity is just short of magnificent! Except for the one time we got a first floor room, our view and privacy have been great! Normally we book a year out but this year we had some extra credits to use up before they "went away" so I decided to try the WAITING LIST. Sure enough, I was delighted to get 4 days for a much needed get-away! It had been two years since I had had a vacation since my 95 year old mother came to live with us and I despertly needed relaxation! This was a girl get-away and I was anxious to introduce my friend to WorldMark. We were put in "A Building" of Phase II.... the very last room of the very last building on the 3rd floor by the cove. The view was very limited and I was so disappointed! But that was not the worst of It! Wed. night a storm rolled in. I love storms at Depoe Bay! About 10:30 p.m. we felt a TREMOR ...then another...then another. I called the front desk and was assured that it was not an earthquake but that there was a CAVE UNDER THE BUILDING and storms caused the feeling of an earthquake! Somehow, that was not comforting! We went to bed but were freaked out as shockwave after shockwave shook our beds! I could picture our building disappearing into a huge sink hole! I would just be dropping off to sleep when another shock would shake the bed leaving me wide awake in the frightening darkness! My friend was experiencing the same sleepless and fearful night! High tide was between 11-12 midnight which I'm sure intensified it! Finally we got to sleep after 1:00 a.m. The next night was the same! We begged management to move us but they would not. Beautiful views. Lovely accommodations. Couple of shining star staff members but lots of room for improvement in that department. I want to love it, but when the check in experience is as rough as this one always seems to be it's difficult. Kinda sets things off on a bad trajectory from the get-go. This is strike 3 for this property with us. 1) We came here last year and realized when we got out of the pool that all the towels were gone. So we called for more and decided to swim a bit longer. We called twice more but after an hour we gave up and I walked my little ones back to the room soaking wet. 2) Last week we spent an hour trying to check in, 3) and now this week its this hellish check-in procedure all over again. This time it wasn't so much lengthy (because there were 15 people in line in front of us and 2 "new people" handling check in) as them wanting information just shy of my blood type to check me in. Your home address, email address, names and ages of kids with you, etc. For anyone at a corporate level that sees this: if you need all of that personal information make it part of the booking process or give me something to fill out. I don't want to recite my details out loud for anyone in the lobby to hear. Then my room phone rings sometime after 8 or 8:30 pm to "make sure I settled in ok". Yep, until this phone call just awakened the child I was trying to put to bed. I don't want unsolicited phone calls at home, I sure don't want them here. If you must, call me 30 mins after we check in, not almost 3 hours later. It's basically a hotel. You check people in, and you check people out, and you bring them towels, etc. that's kinda your thing. It's just not happening correctly here. I'll stay at Gleneden WorldMark instead. This is the first time me and my parents come to Oregon Depoe Bay Worldmark resort there was a couple things that we didn't like... where arrived at the resort on midnight Wednesday we got here and the guy was not well coming at all he wasn't friendly he was rude answering the question didn't want to really answer them I'm sound annoyed and of us just wanted to give us the keys and do to our room and our room even though we pay housekeeping and maintenance fee it was not clean at all it was dirty. They put us in building B which is all the way at the end and it's hard to see the whales!' We had to walk to the front to see the ocean because where all the way in the back of the ocean so we can't see the weals we have to walk to the middle to see the whales. Also on Sunday we ordered towels at 10 o'clock in the morning we went to church and came back and the towels were not there so we had to re-order them and wait for them there are service is really bad! On our second visit here, we have seen whales both times. The weather could be better, but that's just oregon, and there's nothing the resort can do about it. All of the condos have windows and balconies that face out over the rocky shoreline, and into water that is much deeper than it looks. Providing for lots of whale watching from the comfort of your fireplace warmed couch. I have seen roomier locations along the coastline, but there is plenty of room for a family to stay. The condos also have extra attached mini hotel type rooms. Complete with refrigerator, coffee maker, and bathroom. The second bathroom and extra doors to shut between rooms is a major plus when families stay. The kitchens are small, but adequate. All of the necessities. Including a dishwasher and stove top. There is also a washer and dryer in each unit. If you're like me and get antsy with the need to go out and about, there is Lincoln City to the North, and Newport to the South. Between the two, are the Tanger Outlets, grocery stores, a Walmart, and Ripley's Believe it or Not. The Mcminnville air museum, which houses the spruce goose, is about an hour away, and of course there is always the Portland metropolis. The facilities are also quite nice. Multiple pools, arcades, pool tables, rec center. The major downfall of the place is the lack of proper internet. You have to rent a router from the front just to get access, but what they give you is equal to some dial up connections. read more

This was the worst WorldMark experience we have ever had. It was our first trip to Depoe Bay and I highly doubt we will ever return. We booked 13 months in advance and had heard so many good things about the location that we were quite excited about our vacation to Depoe Bay. We expected a good room, having booked so far in advance. But, the room should have been listed as Less Desirable because it was on the first floor and had almost no space between the unit and the cliff. That meant that every person (hundreds) walking by every day, had to walk within a few feet of our patio and door. We felt no privacy at all and very invaded. We don't smoke, but it seemed like every other person who walked by did - making it very undesirable for us. We therefore couldn't use our patio and had to close all the doors and windows on the oceanside of our unit. Also, being on the first floor, we had very little view. It was sad. To make matters worse, we finally had to close the front door and windows also because the trash can was right at our front door and stunk the whole time we were there. It was awful. The resort is extremely busy with way too many people. We had trouble checking in because of all the people arriving at the same time. Many of the people were quite rude, pushing their way to the front, butting in front of others who were patiently waiting in line. There was no organization or help from the staff - which seemed to be very understaffed. Another awful experience. Once we were settled in, we decided to see the sights. The in-town aquarium was OK, but not as good as many others we've been too. The best thing we did was drive to Tillamook and go on the tour of the cheese factory. The tour was interesting, the cheese tasting was great, and the food at the restaurant was excellent. The drive was also very beautiful. But, that was only one day. We were there for a week and there really is not much to do around Depoe Bay - unless you like just sitting on the beach every day - which you have to drive to. One last item, the sales meetings are torture. They say it will only take only 45-60 minutes and they will give you a $100 gift card. The gift is not worth it. First of all, it's going to be at least 2 hours and sometimes more. The sales/information meetings are extremely, to the max, hard sell! And, the sales people are often rude and unkind. We don't go to the meetings any more - no matter what they say or promise. It's just too horrible. But, to get the parking pass, you have to keep telling the check-in person at the front desk "NO" several dozen times when they try to book you for the "friendly" owner information meeting. That experience alone should be enough to warn anyone about the sales meeting. We have used and enjoyed our WorldMark membership. Depoe Bay was not a good experience for us and a few others I have talked with. We hate the sales meetings and don't go to them anymore. We really loved WorldMark's Bonus Time feature and used it a lot, but are now quite unhappy that the minimum price has been raised from $30 per night to $50 per night. We can stay at other nice hotels for less than the WorldMark minimum - and do. Bonus Time used to be a wonderful feature. Not so much any more. I feel that WorldMark is becoming more greedy and less interested in the members. read more

This trip is one of may trips I have taken to Worldmark, Depoe Bay for a family reunion. The resort has great views. Is usually clean and a good experience (2 and 4 years ago) However, This trip has been the reunion from hell. Worlkmark has a policy of booking rooms that have maintenance being preformed on; so for 12 hours a day the floor was shaking, the tear off of roofing, hammering of plywood being installed and roofing replacement being installed under ones head had to be endured with the insensitivity of a prison guard, "Our policy is not to take rooms off the books" let alone they are so over booked that 13 months pre-booking is required to get a stay if you are lucky. I am ashamed to be an owner within Worldmark as they have taken a turn for the worst and to think I paid tens of thousand dollars to vacation at what has turned into a fancy motel 5. The unit I was in even had the king bed mattress that was so broken down on the right side you could put you hand down to the box spring. Even the second room I booked needed repairs that were deferred and blatantly obvious. Thank god it was a handicap room and the rest of the family did not have to endure the roofing and parking fiasco. The parking was blocked off parking, where one has to walk three unit blocks to get to the room to accommodate the trucks, lifts and trailers doing the work not so great for someone that just had knee surgery. Beware of what you are getting as the property looks like a manicured resort and takes a wonderful picture. The rest is "caveat emptor" (Let the buyer beware) read more

I am giving three stars for the view. I have been a huge fan of this resort till this time. It all started at check-in. My family travels often, using my parents timeshare, and due to issues in the past with checking in without them, I was added to their account. They denied that upon check-in and (at first) refused to call my mom for verification. She said we would have to wait till the next day for reservations to handle it. She finally relented and called. My mom explained that she would have been there- but my dad passed away and I had literally attended his funeral that morning. This didn't matter to the check-in person and I (and my mom) still got lectures about it being against policy- even though I AM on their account. We were given a room above construction (and not the room agreed upon in our confirmation). It was non- stop banging/ drilling, as well as two days without water!!!! And having to deal with rude construction staff. read more
