So thats all it is, the World's Smallest City Block but I can say I have seen it and stood there

I love small town American charm. I also appreciate worlds smallest/largest/most expensive/tallest types of attractions. This is one of those places. Nothing much to see except the marker. A police officer drove by and smiled as we took pictures. I'm guessing she has seen people stop and think the same thing we did. I will be bringing every out of town visitor to this spot hahahaha. A suggestion would be to plant some flowers and spruce it up

    This is it.

We were headed to Dothan for a wedding so I looked up the city on Google Maps to see exactly where in Alabama it's located and what it generally looks like. I happened to see "World's Smallest City Block" pop up and decided to make a small side trip to see it in person. It's literally just a small, triangular dirt median with road signs and a tombstone on it, located close to where three roads converge into one in downtown Dothan. There's a stop sign, a yield sign, and a street sign. The tombstone reads: "The smallest city block in the world is marked by Camellia Garden Club. May 1, 1964. Erected by Southside Granite Co." I say tombstone, but there's really no grave underneath (or at least, not that I know of). According to this article (http://www.dothaneagle.com/what-is-the-story-behind-the-smallest-city-block-monument/article_e2cd4d76-71e3-11e4-a355-af268037aa49.html) posted by the Dothan Eagle on November 23, 2014, this dirt patch is "apparently only a portion of" a larger block. The article also says the block has been recognized by Ripley's Believe It or Not! and Guinness World Records. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the area was pretty dead. You can park in the civic center parking lot across the street (for free) and walk over. You'll probably spend 5-10 minutes tops here.

Ha. Not much to review. It's a small dirt city block with a gravestone on it for some reason. We were passing through Dothan, AL & heard about it. Apparently it has some credibility with Guinness Book or Ripley's. Regardless, it is something to see if u are there, but I wouldn't make a trip to Dothan just to see it.

Yup it's small. Don't blink or you'll miss it. Our van was longer than the block. We found this as we were passing through

I Love that I live within a mile of this place and got married at Liddon Park next to it! If you are ever near it it is a must see! :)
