This place is unbelievable! I am not exaggerating when I say they treat me as good at this place as I am treated at my church. These people are just unbelievable. Even the employees that help with loading and moving things around are all spectacular. Don't know how they get such great people and keep them. I had a problem, figuring out how to start an item that I bought at the auction and one of the employees even came to my house to show me how to start it. " Worst" Auction is more like it. They artificially inflate bids. Will overcharge you beyond what bid, and try to short you on the inventory you bid on. The racism and all forms of bigotry don't help either . Extremely disorganized, Marks up prices at checkout, Bait and Switch scheme, Dishonest management and employees, Bias towards customers... I first overpaid for several tables of deadstock stock items at $450 then bid on some shelves for my warehouse at $35 each. I mentioned to my friend that was good for $35. Unfortunately upon receiving my invoice later I saw they had charged me $65 each. I thought it was still a fair deal and chose not to say anything. I am no stranger to auctions as I have been big in the storage auction business for a few years now and have a 3200 sq ft warehouse. I also have a 100% feedback on my ebay store, Retrospin since 2001, because I run an honest business which can not be said for Worstell Auctions. I then went to purchase another lot of some medical devices, I and another patron bid up to $1500, although he won at about 30% margin. One thing to know is they constantly change up how they are auctioning off the tables or lots and they will try to talk fast in order to trick you. My next bid was a single table of compression socks and toner cartridges. I won for $374 after buyers premium. The auctioneer asked which table I wanted and I placed my hand on it and said this one. After the auction I paid for everything and went to gather my belongings. I first went to get the socks and when arriving one of the two assistants there informed me I had won all three tables. I was kind of shocked because I thought I only won the single table and he said see your number is on each table. I told him I was surprised I had got all three and that I wasn't really sure how the bidding process worked because they were auctioning off multiple lots of pallets and tables together. He was really helpful and started loading the items for me. The other two tables had medical bandages and braces and prescription products which I'm not sure how they are able to auction off. Basically the other two tables had about $200 resale value total minus the prescription products. I told the assistant I thought that was a bit high what I paid for the table of socks as the opened toner cartridges were taking up a good portion of the table. The resale value for the single table I bid on was about $800, so close to 50% margin, not very good in my opinion. So I told the assistant well that makes sense that the other two tables would be included. He said yes that seems about right. We finished loading everything except the shelves, I was also charged $374 for, and let him know I would be back tomorrow. The following morning upon walking in the other assistant that was present the day before informed me I need to go to the office because they did not charge me for the other two tables. I was quite confused and told him I thought that was sold as a lot but I will go to speak to them. On the way to the office I figured well I'll just go in and pay for them even though $374 each for the other tables certainly doesn't seem right. I went into the office ready to give them another $750 for their mistake, a complete loss for me. When walking up to the teller with my card in hand, she said we forgot to charge you for the other two tables. I told her I thought I had only bid on one of them. Then Mr. Worstell walks up and says there was obviously a mistake and wanted me to bring the items back or pay for the other tables. I said I couldn't bring them back because everything is mixed up at my warehouse. I don't mind paying but shouldn't I get a discount? Most if it was medical stuff I can't legally sell. He laughed and said just bring the compression socks back, I have another buyer for them. I told him that's all I really wanted. He said, then just keep it. I'm sorry it's our fault we messed but you're barred, you can't come back. I begged him to just let me pay whatever they wanted and he continued to refuse. Walking away he mumbled to her, someone else bid on those tables. If that's really the case, how much did they bid? And yet they planned to triple charge me for the lot I bid on. read more

Just happened today! Owner is as crooked as it gets!. He auctioned off 6 matching set for price 6 times the money. I won and noticed 1 of the 6 items was not matching, and i ask owner if he can take it off? He replied that he can cancel whole auction and i can go, so i accepted without arguing. He walked me to cashier and smirked and said "by the way i am keeping your 100 deposit!" I told him if you do that then i just buy and stay. He said no and i can leave. He already made up his mind and even called security on me to escort off the property. I was shocked for the treatment and told him i will see him in court. He just laughed as if he dont care. Said i threaten him...really??? Wow my wife and i are a regular customer and spend thousands a year there for over 10 years,! He had given me refunds before for same mistake that he made. Guess i will see him in court and file Texas licensing for poor business practice! He owes me more than $100 since i won 10 etems and did not cause no seen. I simply ask a question and he gave me an option that I accepted, only just to throw me out for nothing more than his mistake. I understand if I bid and refused to pay but this was not the case! You have cameras so check it! he took my deposit money and by not allowing me to check out after i kindly ask to pay what i owed. Workers are nice but the owner needs to treat people better! This place is HORRIBLE! I went there and won a bid on some items that I paiud for. I was told that I had to come back to retrieve the items. When I returned, the items I purchased were gone, apparently some one else took them (stole them). I asked for a refund and was treated rudely and made it such a hassle. The idiot owner then said, we don't want you to come back here. At which point I said "Who the hell would come back when you cannot even do your job?" I would fins a reputable auction house and not deal with these Carnies and Cons. read more

Avoid this place, drove 2 hours to try to bid and win a used golf cart.... He opens the bid at 4k "stupid high price" and nobody bids until he drops the opening bid to 1k, then nobody immediately bid against the opening bid so he just told the winning bidder sorry not gonna sell any of them that cheap, and he moved on. Thought this was an auction house. After that a few people approached the auctioneer and asked the auctioneer to go back to the carts he just flat was not going to do it. Several people were pissed about this. There was no reserve price's advertised on the golf carts so I felt cheated, wasted my gas and time. read more

Avoid this place like your life depends on it unless you enjoy getting screwed I went up there for the preview and I overheard Gary worstell telling his worker to put about a hundred of these fishing rods that have broken tips upside down in the barrel so people wouldn't know they were damaged. Last month I swore I wouldn't go back but I thought I would give it one more chance I bought furniture that was damaged the damaged pieces were obscured and hidden by other merchandise they were turned in different angles against the wall to hide the damage . They ought to call it a damaged Freight sale because most everything that is messed up. They've been selling a lot of baby beds and I was buying them but the last 2 months they did something sneaky they had a phantom bidder who was Tim worstell and his wife Melissa. They ran people up on the bids to cause people to pay more they bid on their own merchandise to run up the prices. Several of the beds they got stuck with so they put them on Craigslist. They're selling them as is in the Box but most of them are damaged all of them are customer returns to Babies R Us and. these poor people are buying them thinking they're brand new in the box when most of them are damaged that's why they were returned back to Babies R Us. If you have a desire to be ripped off then this is the place for you otherwise just go to the store and buy it new and save yourself the heartache . They have like 2000 fishing reels most all of them are damaged and won't even crank but they wrap them in plastic to keep people from touching them so they can rip you off read more

I've sold items with Gary and Melanie for many years. Great staff and I usually get as much or more than I expected. Infrequently, I get to Houston and am lucky enough to attend the auction to buy stuff. Craziest selection of random things. I've been to many auctions since i was a kid - this is the largest, fastest paced with the most eclectic selection of items. This is a good auction if you know what you are doing. If you see something you like, determine what you want to pay and bid that. Stop watching Storage Wars where bidders are all playing games with each other. Don't come here to play. There are professional businessmen here who don't have time to "bleep" around.
