I had a wonderful experience at Houston Gold Merchants. I chose this place because of the great reviews and I'm happy I did. This was my first time selling gold and I was careful to pick a reputable place that wasn't going to rip me off. I did some research on my own and arrived with a ballpark estimate in my mind. I was offered what I expected/what I believe was fair amount based on gold prices for the day. I left with cash in hand. Brian was friendly and knowledgeable and made the experience a fun one. I highly recommend this place. I'll definitely be back if I ever need to sell some gold again. read more

These guys are flexible enough to figure out a way to get you a great deal on silver and gold, but you never feel like you've been taken advantage of. read more

The most fair and honest people run this place. They accidentally over-quoted my jewelry, and they upheld their initial quote when I came back after shopping around. Definitely recommend these guys for the fairest deal in town. read more

Easy and fair transaction. I would recommend if you have gold to sell. Located in a corner building across from townhomes in River Oaks.

These guys are the best!!! They know what they're doing and educate you along the way as well. N best of all they give you top dollar for your gold! I highly recommend them!!! read more

By far the best buyer of precious metals. The one in Skokie Illinois I used recently was supposed to be so good but now pales in comparison to Houston Gold Merchants. They gave me spot price on the spot, pun intended. So, aside from any spot price fluctuations since I purchased, I only lost premium since my original purchase. That's very fair. That's the gold standard, no pun intended. Thank you! Stay awesome and first class. read more

Super helpful. Spent lots of time helping figure out what I had. It's a little hard to find. It's tucked away in a small shopping center.

They were very friendly and helpful. They made me feel comfortable. Although, I was there to sell some gold and unfortunately my gold was not real. If I'm in the market to buy or sell I will definitely go see them! read more

I've sold spare gold at a couple of Gold stores in town and Houston Gold Merchants is by far the best. Brian, the owner, not only purchased my gold at a great price but also helped me buy a diamond engagement ring for my now fiancé. While I may have spent more time than most to choose the right ring he was patient, informative, and very helpful. I highly recommend that you seek Houston Gold Merchants for anything gold, silver, diamond, or any other precious metals related!! read more

Considering both of our names are Brian it was a funny phone call when I was calling to schedule my appointment. What I can say is it was a very smooth experience. Will be returning soon. Thanks Brian! read more

Fantastic! They gave me a ballpark quote over the phone, and I met with Rachel a week later. Everything was weighed and tested within a "Covid cube" with plenty of air circulation and plexi barriers. Quick, easy, would definitely visit them again! read more

I came here with some old jewelry that I had never worn. They were mostly gifts from my family and I knew I didn't want them. I took these items to the Houston gold merchants and the guy who took care of me and who owns the place was very nice and informative. He likes to chat so make sure to either be in the mood to chat or let him know you'd like to get to business. I highly recommend going to this guys place and I probably will bring back some few items that I have left over here in there. read more

Yep. Gotta add my 5 stars to everyone else's. Brian is indeed as up-front, honest and helpful as all the other reviewers claim. He gave me a very fair valuation of my gold scrap, gave me some good advice on disposing of some of my other gemstone and diamond jewelry and was just a cool guy to chat with in general. I did some extensive research prior to driving into town to see Brian and I'm really glad I did. read more

I have been to several gold coIn buyers in Houston but this place wAs very negotiable and fair. Will definitely be back when in need to sell gold. read more

Really great service and welcoming environment!!! Brian is very down to earth, friendly and very knowledgeable. He informed me on the quality of my products (ring and necklace) and paid a fair amount for them. I got the most money for my gold, by a good amount. Brian was honest and upfront. I felt very comfortable and safe even though it was my first experience selling my jewelry. Safety is essential for those things for obvious reasons. I would definitely recommend him to anyone and will continue to go there in the future. Thanks for the wonderful experience Brian! read more

These folks are great. They made me feel safe and comfortable and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied with selling my jewelry and other items. Unlike some places that buy gold and jewelry, this is not a store! Rachel and Bryan did not try to sell me anything. As she examined and weighed my items, she explained everything about the process for each item. After the more straightforward items were valued and I was paid (immediately and in cash, BTW), they kept me well updated on the melting of some of the other items so that the gold content could be determined. I highly recommend Houston Gold Merchants. read more

They were quick and fair! So happy to get rid of my old jewelry! You should definitely check them out if you have gold or silver to sell.

Knowledgeable. Authentic. Comical We loved working with the owner. He treated us like we had known him for years. My fiancé and I felt very comfortable throughout the entire experience, and even learned a thing or two about the owner. I highly recommend visiting this place if you want a fair price and a great selling experience. Don't be shy, go make some money! read more

I've been a repeat customer here and I always enjoy coming in to sell my stuff. The owner is very easy to talk to and is personable - excellent and random convos every time. Most importantly he is fair in his evaluations - he shows you current national rates for gold and silver prices and calculates based on those numbers and the weight of your item. I've always been so happy with the deals we make. Never disappointed. Those concerned about a sleaze-ball factor - it's non existent here. The owner reminds me of a next door neighbor Dad. He's so sweet :). read more

You know, someone who demonstrated unquestionable honesty & unimpeachable integrity. Well you are in luck! Meet your new best friend - Brian Jowaisas of Houston Gold Merchants. He makes the process of trading your gold & silver for cash entirely effortless & most pleasant. I can personally attest that you'll never second guess the transaction - you'll get top dollar and leave with a smile on your face and money in your wallet. When it comes to cashing-out that unwanted jewelry or other gold & silver items Brian's your guy hands-down! read more

I found Brian one rainy afternoon while trying to find a place to sell some jewelry. It was a holiday, but Brian answered the phone anyway and told me to shoot him a picture of what I had and he could tell me if he would be interested. He wasn't (I know nothing about gold & jewelry) but he gave me the rundown on each piece, advised me of where I could get the best price for each one and explained the value to me. Wonderful guy, great way to do business. I wish most merchants had his honesty and ethics. I will go to him next time I have something to sell! Thanks!! read more

Everytime I call them they never have any goin coins available. Makes me think, what kind of place is this is?

I didn't have an appointment, so when I knocked on the business door, Brian was already with a customer. He greeted me, asked if I minded waiting 15 minutes and put me in the conference room and offered me water. He didn't make me wait any longer than he had told me and we sat down and I showed him the necklace I had to sell. He placed it on the scale and pulled up his pricing program in the computer. He told me what karat he thought the necklace was, guessing it was 22k gold or over, and even told me he thought it was from China or Taiwan, which he was correct in both assumptions. After he told he what he thought the necklace was worth, he did his acid test to verify and came up with an offer which I accepted. Besides being an intelligent and interesting person to talk to, the entire process was completely transparent. Everything was done in front of me and he explained what he was doing as he was doing it. I will always go here to sell any metals I am looking to get rid of. read more

I priced my gold and diamonds out with several places and I got the best price here without any of the BS. It was quick, easy, and transparent. I almost never write positive reviews on yelp and but the quality of service warranted one this time read more

Great service, and very knowledgeable. Brian is patient and willing to make sure you are comfortable with your decision(s)/choice(s)!

Very professional and honest business! Performed all tests in front of me and gave me a very fair price for my gold. No haggle and no fuss, just a smooth efficient transaction. Covid-safe environment so no need to worry. Definitely worth the visit! read more

It's been pleasure to do business with you, good prices and good welcoming, definitely keep doing business with you, thanks for everything.

After looking at the reviews on Yelp for this outfit I decided to give them a visit. This was my first time to sell jewelry and some silver so I had some misgivings about security and fairness in pricing. Within minutes of meeting with Rachel, those misgivings were dispelled. She was knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention patient with my many questions. It was a very transparent process. It turned out to be a great experience with a transaction that I was so unfamiliar with. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking to sell, buy, or just seeking advice about a particular item that they had in their collection. read more

Totally customer focused, they did an incredible job for us, thank you

Googled Houston Gold businesses and reviewed Houston Gold Merchants website. The location is great and secure and upon my arrival was greeted by the owner Brian. I felt very comfortable with the explanation of the current value of gold. He tested his weight machine after I Inquired on the accuracy and he then showed me the current value of gold on his laptop. During the duration he went back to check on the price and it actualy went up. Overall a good experience and I felt I wasn't being taken advantage. Highly recommend read more

In an effort to get clutter-free in 2012 and purge anything we have not used, (one earring, broken gold ring, etc). We went into Houston Gold Merchants. We spoke with Brian and he handled us as a business should, great attitude, knowledgeable and a super deal. It just doesn't get any better. As business owners ourselves, we notice the small intangible things, and Brian hit the nail on the head. Super Pro. If you are wondering where to sell your gold make no mistake, this is the place. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Place is conveniently located and the owner is a great guy. From the moment you walk in, the owner is up front and honestly. He shows you the current exchange rate for your gold or diamonds on his computer, and weighs the jewelry in front of you. No funny business or scams. This is the only place you should be bringing your old jewelry to. I will recommend this business to all my friends and family. read more

Use your phone navigation so you don't miss this great little place. The door was locked when I arrived, but I called the number and Brian was there in less than a minute. I was glad I called. I was pleasantly surprised that more of it had value than I expected and left feeling that I got a very fair deal. I highly recommend this place! read more

I walked in to the store just wanting an estimate for my gold, but Brian (the owner) was extremely helpful explaining everything with the process. He was upfront and very honest with me...not to mention very down to earth type individual. Even though I didn't cash in my gold at this time, I really appreciated his honesty and candor. I will definitely go back. Thanks, Brian! read more

Couldn't be more pleased with Brian and the time that he took with my sister and I recently. We had coins that were left when our father passed away and we didn't know the value. Brian took the time to look at them and consult with other professionals to determine worth for us. He is very personable and genuine and made the process very relaxing for us. There are many snakes in the grass lurking to take advantage in this business and I believe that Brian is honorable and can be trusted. read more
