Inventory includes all genres but with LGBTQ+ characters and/or authors as well as some book themed gifts and art. Selection includes books and authors not always carried by the big, box stores. Books, gifts, and art were all affordable. Recommend parking in the lot behind the building as street parking is limited.

I stopped by while doing some shopping in the area after my friend and I had seen a sign for it in a local coffee shop. I'm glad we did! We were greeted kindly by the bookseller, and we got to chat all about books and upcoming local events for a while. We got recommendations and had an incredibly pleasant conversation! The books are catered towards being LGBTQ+ friendly, and focus on romance and romantasy, as well as offering a selection of manga. The store had a variety of deals ongoing and many options were 20% off! There was a section where you could select a mystery bag for a piece of jewelry. I got the cutest earrings from my bag! Speaking of jewelry, this bookshop offers a variety of jewelry as well as clothing and some posters/cards/art/stickers. There were so many fun things to choose from! Super cute, I'll have to check out some of their community events sometime for sure. Definitely worth a browse!

This Barnes & Noble book store is a pretty massive one in Canton. You can enter from the front or…read morethe rear of the store, depending on which way you're coming from. If you're looking for brand new released reading material this is the place to find it. Everything is categorized into fiction, biography, history, romance, cookbooks and more. As long as you know the author, it shouldn't be a problem finding what you're looking for. There are resourceful books for a variety tests or exams one might be taking. At the rear of the store there are records and CDs. This is also where the children's books, toys and games are. There are certain times dedicated to story time for little kids. Should you need a coffee break, there's no need to go far. Starbucks is right here in house. They also have a sale section, usually those are activity books or similar. Be prepared to pay the manufacturer's price for most items.

It does, however, provide some extra seating which is always a good thing in a book store. That said, we wandered around for quite a while, checking out the history and cooking sections -- everything is pretty clearly organized -- and came away pleased. There's a special section for kids, for tech stuff and for just about any special interest you might have. They have lots of space devoted to gifts, which has never been our favorite part of a book store (let's use that space for MORE books!). There's an information area in the center of the store, and the employees there are pretty good at helping others find items. In all, a nice store, nicely arranged and worth spending some time in, as we certainly did. It is, we believe, the largest book store in this part of Connecticut.

If you're looking for games, TCG collections or memorabilia from your favorite fandom they probably have it for a great price. I turned on my DS back in August and was sad to see the bottom touch screen was almost illegible…read moredue to a creeping white fade from the sides of the screen. My husband looked it up and said it should be a relatively easy fix of swapping the screen, so we brought it to M&J on 8/31/25. John, the owner, also made it sound like it should be an easy fix and quoted us a few weeks turnaround time (within September), and we paid $80 up front. We were clear that this was nostalgic as my childhood DS and didn't care what they had to do internally, but externally wanted it to be the same DS. When September came and went, my husband called John for a status update, who said they were waiting on the parts to arrive. No biggie. October comes and goes... still no real update, and again, we had to be the ones to reach out (we actually went in person this time because we started getting a bad gut feeling). We expressed at this time that the lack of communication was concerning us. More months of the same until we eventually learn after repeated calls that now the motherboard is apparently frying every screen they try to put in, so they had to order a new motherboard entirely. My husband had expressed again that if he could even just text him status updates occasionally, that would be great so we weren't in the dark constantly and feeling annoying when we called, even though we tried to limit it to once a month or every few weeks. As the six month mark approached, I figured I was never going to see this DS again. To our surprise, my husband calls and what do you know - the DS is all set and ready for pick up. Great, but also, were you ever going to call and tell us that it was? We shouldn't be surprised that we had to be the ones to reach out with no communication from their end for the umpteenth time. We decided to go up immediately that night to pick it up, and while I am so glad that it's working again, I'm annoyed at the lack of care that went into this repair, especially considering we stressed the nostalgic value here. My DS was sticky, missing its original stylus (my DS is pink, they gave me a white stylus that didn't even have the pen tip... luckily I just happened to have another one), and they lost the panel for the bottom where a game boy cartridge would go, something I wouldn't have even thought they would lose. Now it's on me to reorder one, which I know they're cheap, but it's the principle of the matter - I expected my device to come back with everything I left it with. There were new cracks, and the new bottom screen was scratched up for being "new". As a kid I took better care of my DS than what I received back. I understand that to complete the repair, my DS looked like "Frankenstein" (owner's words), and while I get it turned into a Pandora's Box situation, it just felt like this repair was handled carelessly. My husband was charged more for the motherboard when we went to pick it up, and I do appreciate that John worked with him on the price. At the end of the day, I'm glad to have a working DS back and understand the repairman did what he had to, but after seeing similar reviews to my experience, it's disheartening to learn I'm not the only one that feels this way. The lack of communication from John was honestly the most frustrating part. I wouldn't return for any other repairs or business.
