Most medical facilities struggle to keep good reviews because lack of staffing cause long wait times and quick interactions. Secondly, I was shocked that the urgent care wasn't extremely busy and that I was brought into the back within 15 minutes of my arrival. Thirdly, I was so so IMPRESSED with how kind, and just happy my doctor was. I don't meet too many doctors who really strike a cord with me, but DR.KERR was genuinely just such a nice doctor. I was seen for a kidney infection, I knew the symptoms, had experienced them a year before, after a quick urine test he agreed. He said he'd prescribe a tablet to take once a day for 10 days, if I experienced fever to go to the ER. I asked if he knew how fast the CVS right next door would possibly fill that prescription (dumb question-that isn't something most doctors are really going to know, but I have word vomit sometimes) and he said it could take anywhere from an hour to longer. He asked if I ever used them before and I said no. He then said he wanted to give me an antibiotic shot that would at least cover me for 24 hours in case they didn't get the prescription filled that night, which was AMAZING. He didn't have to do that at all. I am so thankful that he did, though. CVS didn't get the prescription filled until late. I went to bed in a lot of pain due to the kidney infection, but that shot did it's job and by this morning I am as good as new!!!!! I'm still going to grab my prescription after work today, because following the treatment plan all the way through is how it gets fixed and doesn't just flare back up in a couple days, but I cannot express how fantastic Dr. Kerr and really ALL of the staff was.

I wait over an hour plus and still no one has called me, people who are arriving after me are getting their name called and being seen. So I go up and talk with a different receptionist and she asked if I've talked to anyone once I arrived. I answered "yes" and she proceeds to hand me papers to "check me in". I asked her if this was paper work that I've should have filled out upon arrival and she answers "yes". The quality of care and attention to detail is poor at this office, I should not nor anyone else for that matter be overlooked for care because a receptionist failed to follow procedure. One of my visits was for a moderately embarrassing issue and the doctor and MA helped me feel comfortable and I didn't feel any sort of judgement from either of them. My concerns were addressed both times I visited this urgent care and my issues were resolved. This isn't the closest UC to my house at all (I don't even live in this city!), but if time allows, I would absolutely choose this office again. We've had really good discussions about my overall health, lifestyle, things I'm doing well, and areas where I can improve. It feels collaborative instead of transactional, which is honestly rare to find. Whenever I've brought up issues that are outside the scope of primary care, he has had no problem referring me to specialists, and I also appreciate that he follows up on that care afterward instead of just sending you off and forgetting about it. This action was required to pick up my son's medication that was running out and needed to be ordered due to no refills left at home. I really communicated with my son's primary care physician team and they email me right away the same day to let me know that the prescription has been filled and to pick up the item at the pharmacy before closing. Despite this, I am consistently waiting over an hour past my appointment time before being seen. This is not a one-time issue -- it happens every visit. If I were an hour late, I'm certain I would be told to reschedule, so it's frustrating that patients' time is not given the same respect. On top of that, some staff members come across as rude and uninterested, as if they don't want to be there. When patients are already dealing with pain or injuries, a little professionalism and courtesy would go a long way. If there were other options available, I would choose them.
