Last week they went above and beyond, clearly deserving of media mention. Last summer I purchased a Weber Grill. I immediately had an issue with the casters not working. I called Ernie who dispatched his crew to retrieve the grill and try to fix it. It was missing many screws and one of the casters had fallen off. The crew brought back the grill, supposedly fixed but I have had difficulty with the same casters since last year. They will lock in place, and not stay unlocked thus making it almost impossible to move my grill. Finally, last week one of the casters just broke off entirely. This was two days before my July Fourth cookout. I called Ernie back and he immediately remembered me and dispatched another crew to assess the situation . When the crew arrived, they realized they would again have to take the grill back to the shop. A few hours later I got a call from Mike asking me if I wanted to have the repair done by Weber under the warranty or if I wanted them to try to put on new casters. I told them to put on universal casters because I did not want the same casters from Weber. A few hours later I got a call from Mike telling me the repair was complete and could they drop off the grill. I said sure and how much did I owe them. I was then informed I didn't owe them anything. I cannot thank them enough. I especially want to shout out Ernie, Mike and the owners , Mark and Alex Jaconski who run an exceptional business.

Stanley's is the classic small business the neighborhood wants to keep in place for their needs big and small. I've been blessed that I haven't had too many emergencies in my house but knowing a Stanley's run can be done quick sets my mind at ease. The best I can do to support them is to continue to visit in those non-emergency moments like when I need a key made or a small piece of hardware.

The checkout process took 25 minutes too long and we had to pay the credit card fee. It's 2024 and what I was buying was expensive. Additionally, she asked me a few personal questions during checkout that I did not like. I'm a nice person but holy hell just get on with the checkout process I wasn't trying to be there all day.

I'll stick with TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, etc down the road.

I find it hard to believe they do more than $20 of business a day. Cash only, mind you. After I decided that my current AMSEC TL15 safe wasn't big or strong enough for my current needs, I went to a local safe shop. They did not have any safes that fit my needs (width at or under 28", TL30 rated). So I went looking.... I found ONE safe that met my wishes online....that was a pre-owned safe from Wilson. I contacted Coleen Murr (sales person EXTRAORDINAIRE) to confirm that the safe was still available. She did so, and was able to discuss payment options (I sent them a personal check & waited for it to clear). Wilson did a thorough "refurb" job on the safe, repainting it, and also replacing the lock mechanism (since the old lock had apparently died)...All at no additional charge. After my local safe guy with whom I'd previously done business decided that he didn't really want to meet my needs as a customer (complicated stuff like actually RESPONDING to texts in less than 7 days), I contacted Coleen. She was able to give me the name of a safe delivery business able to not only deliver my refurbished safe from Wilson, but remove my current safe (per my request), for a VERY reasonable price. Coleen coordinated delivery of the safe, communicating PRO number/carrier/delivery depot. Wilson not only provided me with a great safe at a very fair price, but they also threw in drilling mounting holes in the base of the TL30 safe (not cheap or easy), and also gave me a tool to open up the inner cover to the safe. As a person who is very quick to complain, bxtch & moan, I found the service from Wilson quite AMAZING. I would gladly do business with Wilson Safe in the future.

Prices are a bit higher than a place like the AIDS Thrift, but they offer half off everything in the store during their last week of operation in June (they take summers off). The out-of-the-way location means their merchandise hasn't been too thoroughly picked over. The ladies working here are chatty and awesome.
