We have been to Wow! Zone many times to bowl which is nice. However, recently my daughter requested to go to laser tag for her birthday. I was so surprised at how fun it was. We had a group of ten, all ages, which was the perfect amount of people to play with. The course is two levels, with countless nooks and crannies to hide and walk quickly (no running) through. Well, the food here is mostly good, especially the pizzas, that is, if you can track down a server amongst the chaos. I should say, if you go into the bar/restaurant area, chances are the chaos is less, however, not absent. The atmosphere feels like an early teenager who had too much sugar and caffeine. If you choose the bowling area, it can be hit or miss if someone actually recognizes that you exist. Otherwise, the server that eventually took our order walked by us 5 times before I had to open field tackle her to get her attention. I had the spinach artichoke dip with pita. Unfortunately it wasn't very good. The pita chips were over cooked and had a weird aftertaste, the artichoke dip looked promising with all sorts of spinach and artichokes peaking out, but the taste also wasn't very good. Almost like it was freezer burnt and old. Had a slice of pizza, still pretty good! All that being said, if you are shy and not adventurous, this place will pose a challenge. The Wow! Zone Easter Brunch. $29.99. The food was NOT good. There was no ham left when we got there. The little that was still in the pan was way over cooked and horrible looking. The beef was O.K. The desserts: the cakes were hard & tasted horrible almost like they old & stale. The soups were O.K. The potatoes garlic mashed looked like paste - very, very unappealing, I couldn't even bring myself to add them to my plate. The scrambled eggs and bacon and sausage, breakfast items were O.K. But to charge $29.99 for that kind of food is highway robbery. I will share this information with the people that I know to beware of the Easter Brunch at the Wow! Zone. I understand that COVID has definitely limited capacity and labor, however I went to a birthday party hosted at WowZone and the service was not the greatest. My Uncle and Aunt reserved a room for my niece, but they didn't explain to us the party limit was only 9. When we got there they were not sure how to deal with us, and provided us with poor service and vague directions. We waited about an hour for our food, our lanes kept going out during our bowling games - so much so that we eventually gave up on one of our games, - and our room was cleaned up before we got to finish all our food and drinks that we paid for. The communication and party execution was implemented poorly. We hope that the next party that attends this establishment are aware of the limitations that they will be faced with when it comes to hosting a child's birthday party during these tough times. It's definitely not worth your money. Not right now. I will add, we have had a great time in the past, but due to limited capacity and limited budgeting for labor, the service just isn't too tier. WOW! Where do I begin?! We came to Mankato for a tournament and decided to take all the kids to Wow Zone for some pizza and fun! We had reservations so we were assured to get sat and eat in a timely manner. We were sat straight away and the kids all got their pizza and went on their way to have some fun. That was great! Us, the adults however, for what ever reason waited over an hour with the little kids to get our food. We were told on multiple occasions the food was almost out. What made the experience better and more tolerable was our waitress. She was very nice, and was super sweet to my overly hungry and crabby daughter. When the food finally arrived, we ate and the food was ok. Nothing special at all. My husbands steak was over cooked. My salad was not that good and my daughters fries were kind of cold. We ended up woth a discount on our bill for the inconvenience. After dinner we took the kids for some games. A lot of the games were out of order which wasn't that big of a deal. Then we sent the kids in to play laser tag and one of the employees sent my youngest daughter who is 3, out by herself before the game was over. I had our other child at a game just out of sight so I didn't see when this happened. The employee didn't look for an adult or anything! Just sent her out all alone. She was crying and scared. Luckily, one of the other parents we were with saw her and brought her to me! This was unacceptable! Im not sure I would go back or not. Great food and fun. Pam, the owner, is a great supporter of the community. She is constantly raising funds for every nonprofit in town. Our group had a breakfast fundraiser there and she gave us more money than the $5 a plate we were expecting. I eat there regularly and they have great specials on food. Met a couple friend there to play some pool, everything except bowling and bar are more " teen driven" but still nice place with good game selection. Went to the sports bar to have a beer and dinner. Rainy afternoon, 41 degrees, so the "Homemade Chili" looked like a good choice. NOT !! This is the worst chili, I have ever tasted. Tricky place to review because it has many components that range in quality. I've been here many times. Overall, good for bowling and laser tag, making it worth checking out, but bad for everything else - especially food. Badly understaffed, however, staff outside the restaurant seem to do a good job and a few are truly outstanding. Restaurant and bar staff are consistently out to lunch. I wish wow zone would get its act together because it could be great, so I'm going to take the time for a detailed review. Here's my breakdown: Arcade - 1 star. A significant number are always out of order, or aren't working properly. Too many games of chance with long odds. Needs more skill and actual games to play instead of these things that are essentially slot machines for children. Mini golf - 1 star. Worst mini golf course I have ever seen. Restaurant - 1 star. Except for pizza, the food is poor. Occasionally terrible. Service in the restaurant is always too slow. It's bizarre that so many square feet are dedicated to the bar and restaurant, with a nice layout, but no investment in kitchen and service staff to match. Laser tag - 4 stars. Excellent!! What a blast. This is why I go back. Missing a star because equipment doesn't seem to be maintained well and a queuing process is needed. Bowling - 4 stars. Best bowling in Mankato. Now if they could just get regular bar service to the lanes. Generally, pricing is a bit on the high side. Check package pricing before heading in. This place was a sponsor of a hockey tournament and gave a "free" play card for laser tag to the teams. Figured sure why not try it knowing the idea is to drag in others and spend some money while the team played laser tag. Looked like a good place for kids to play but I never had such poor service. Had a group of 10 people that wanted to drink and eat. The place was NOT crowded. Not very inviting, beer and drinks a bit pricey. Food orders were placed and people that showed up last actually got their order first. Food was mediocre at best. One woman ordered a chicken wrap and it looked huge and good. She started to remove the lettuce inside of it and I could not believe how much was in there. It literally shrunk the wrap to less then half its size. She offered me the other half and the chicken was bland. Nothing giving it any taste I did not even finish it. We then waited unbelievably long to get our checks. In fact if the staff paid any attention to us they would have sold at least a $100 plus more in drinks but no one was there. Some food came so late they had to put it in a takeout container. Several members in the group were ready to walk out without paying, of course they didn't but even walking up to the bar and asking for the check didn't speed them up. We asked for them to put a playoff hockey game on and instead they turned on an infomercial for some body shaping product. I can't image that place being busy and keeping the customers happy. It's a great place to waste some time with people. There are good video games, the laser tag is really fun, and the mini golf is neat with the black light features. The bowling alley has the option of private lanes which are much nicer than the regular lanes, so if you want to bowl in style, this is it. I agree with the other review in that the service can be poor- it seems like they are either perpetually under-staffed or that the staff just don't care. We took a group in for laser tag, and it was like pulling teeth to get someone to come over so that we could start to play. So that kinda blows. But the place as a whole is really a lot of fun. The bar is also an okay place to hang out with groups- there are hardly ever any people in it, and when they shut the giant door out to the arcade you wouldn't even know there are screaming kids out there... :) read more

Food was great! I know I know it's an arcade but we are from out of town and staying at the hotel across the street and gave the restaurant a try. Our party ordered the Cuban sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, burger, chicken salad and a 2 different pasta dishes. All were tasty. Not much for presentation but it is an arcade after all. Our waitress (Jayla) was great and the cook even stopped by our table. We mentioned it was one of our party guests birthday and she brought ice cream for the whole table. Super sweet touch. Didn't bowl but did play laser tag. Great fun and reasonably priced. Ordered a drink from the bar after. Dirty martini - not all the great but AGAIN we are talking about an arcade. Went here for bowling. There was leagues going on but they had a room off to the side with maybe 10 more open lanes for non league bowling. The lanes seemed super greasy but I am no expert. We had a great time and for some reason I bowled the best I ever have. read more

My networking group holds weekly meetings at the Wow! Zone. The facility is top notch for meetings, has amazing food and staff. At other times, the facility is super fun for kids, families, parties and events. Highly recommend this facility for a wide variety of uses! Top Notch! read more

Love the pizza! The Rainbow pizza is my favorite and it's even great leftover. We've been coming here for years and really enjoy the variety, from bowling to the arcade to just hanging out in the bar listening to live music on Friday nights. We have pretty good service each time and it's gotten better, think some new managers were hired. Food recommendations include any of the pizza- you can't beat the brick fired fresh pizza! We had our High School Reunion at the Wow Zone and it couldn't have been a better experience. Much to our delight the food was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Cheesy potatoes and pork roast were delish. The atmosphere was great for our reunion as we were jamin' to the 80s music and videos while cosmic bowling. Where do I begin? Way understaffed. Customer service lousy. Spouse had honors dinner here once... cramped side room, food was cold chicken breast, pasta bar was noodles. That's IT. Also, beware of mini golf... very dark and dangerous. Fell down in there. Sat 15 minutes in the bar and NOT EVEN A SECOND GLANCE BY THE WAIT STAFF. NO MENU, NO SERVICE. Left without eating... this was Sat., Feb. 13th. Was also told a three hour wait to bowl. No bowling. Extremely poor service, lousy, over priced food. (Have eaten there before.) No pro shop... it was closed. It's always closed. With Dutler's closed I have no place to bowl in Mankato. Can't go to Victory... same outfit there. WOW ZONE needs to go out of business. If you go here do not order the Grilled Mushroom Salad. When it came out, you could tell it wasn't freshly made. Probably made a day or two ago if not longer. I had to pick through the salad to find lettuce that was not "soupy" or brown. The cucumbers were also old and yellow. Not sure when the mushrooms were grilled. Pizza and bowling is pretty good. I haven't been in the restaurant or done laser tag. Me and the hubby tried mini golf bc it's the only place in town but it was awful! Terrible idea to have it in the dark with black lights. It's really nice to actually SEE when you're trying to shoot a ball in a hole. There really wasn't anything fun about it (although it was laughable bc it was so bad). Also- when we first entered and bought our tickets the worker did not advise us where to go or what to do- just handed us two tickets. we wandered into the golf area but there weren't any balls or putters. Wandered back out and eventually found the right spot. They didn't have score cards (unless they did and nobody told us). You wouldn't be able to score anyway in the pitch black golf area. read more
