Co-founded by brewmaster Jace Marti and 6th-generation farmer Nate Gieseke they produce Bourbons, Rye Malt Whisky, American Single Malt, and some fun other spirits. They utilize uniquely shaped, open-top wooden fermenters, house-propagated non-saccharomyces yeast strains, and a low barrel-entry proof of 110 to extract more toasted wood sugars I received a tour, but also enjoyed an Old Fashioned along with some of their spirits while there. The Old Fashioned was lovely, made with Bourbon, Simple Syrup, Bitters, Orange Swath, and Cherries. Overall the experience was fantastic and highly recommend the distillery. ________

The venue was simple, which is great for people who want to enjoy a drink and have a conversation with others. There wasn't any ridiculously loud music or TV's playing, which was nice. The staff were very friendly and got drinks out in a timely manner and I'd say the pricing on the drinks were very fair for what you got. If I'm ever in New Ulm again, I'd definitely want to revisit and try some other items on the menu!

Offering me a couple of samples right out the gates. After we discussed the beers at length I opted for a flight. After I finished that flight, I decided to build another one; with my two samples prior to the flight that would complete the 20 options tap list. I don't think I've ever heard of brewer Kurt in the craft beer community but after tasting his beers... he has my respect and appreciation! Ellie had pointed him out at the end of the bar but I could only see his flannel covered arm. She also noted that the other fellas slanging behind the bar was Tap Room Manager Alex; so I briefly chatted him up about his current go-to tap beers, thus partially why I built the second flight; to give them a taste. Of the beers I tried I would likely order most of them again, none struck me as not my jam and I would most certainly skip, a good marker in my eyes. The victors were the Smash #2 with Krush hops, with some poking around is a rename of former hop HBC 586 and it was a tied favorite on the second flight w Little Bit Da Dat. The first flight the Maifest came out on top. I very much appreciated that the four pour 4oz flights are offered at a reasonable $9! I like the spacious tap room and there is a plethora of regular height tables and even a couple of couches, lounge type area near the nearly floor to ceiling windows on the west wall. Tremendous doesn't only offer craft beer; they also have a variety of seltzers and mocktails! I love a good small town brewery, and this is just that. Built in an old movie theater including…read morethe old school signage, Sleepy Eye Brewing is pouring beers that will quench your thirst. While out in the area I made a pit stop as I was feeling a bit quenched. I got a flight and took a seat at the bar. Been There Done That: A Coffee Cream Ale brand new on tap - an experimental ale for them. They took their base cream ale and threw a bunch of whole coffee beans into the beer. The color is a little darker than a traditional cream ale from the beans, while also giving a blond roast flavor and a bit of tannin from the skin of the beans. Sleepy EyePA: A West Coast IPA that was super tasty. This is one of their flagship beers that has been around since they opened. It is nice to see an IPA on a menu that isn't a hazy, and glad that this one had great citrus notes with a good bitterness at 80 IBU. This is just a good old school IPA. St. Nick's: A Stout served on nitro packed with peppermint flavor. The beer was like the holidays in a glass, maybe not in season, but I don't care in the slightest! It made me feel basic in all the right ways. Stay Pucked, Man: A Fruited Sour with over 400 pounds of blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry. Then 60 pounds of marshmallow fluff in addition to a big ol' box of graham crackers. This baby is THICK. Don't get this if you aren't feeling a smoothie style sour as it coats the glass as you drink it. I honestly drank every last sip as it was sweet, delicious, and made me happy. Sometimes, you just want a beverage like this and after a day of drinking Bocks over in New Ulm I was into it. _________________

I ended up ordering a Stateline which is a farmhouse cream ale, and it was probably my favorite of the 5 I tried. The taproom is small, there is also a very small patio.
