The lady who explained the coding just acted helpless as if she couldn't possibly be expected to give a customer heads up that when their child turned 14, the insurance would no longer consider him a child. I personally think that is not something she just discovered, and did not know when your office sent texts to me to update info and confirm the appt. How about, "oh, it's another 14 y.o. we better send a statement that dental insurance isn't covered because he's an adult? Because $220 for a cleaning? How about "do you want to skip xrays?" How about do the uncomfortable task of holding your staff to a higher standard of care and consideration for the patient- including yourself instead of ignoring that I already spoke to your office management. They know who I am. And if they didn't convey that to you, consider that. If they did tell you and you know who I am because they told you, don't bother writing responses that aren't sincere.

Went to hospital,they couldn't help , no dentists in Tazewell or anywhere near would see me or help me because I wasn't an established patient . My daughter n law made the last call we were going to make to ask for help and thank God it was Dr Moore and Laningham's office! Dr Laningham didn't care if I was an established patient , he did care that I was in pain and needed help. Him and his assistant gave up part of their Saturday to come in and remove my tooth so I wouldn't have to be in pain the rest of the weekend , and so I could finally eat or drink something! He also charged me less than we paid for my husband to have a tooth removed during regular business hours with a scheduled appointment! If I need any dental done while I'm still around the area , I will drive the hour to go there. Nice to know there are doctors out that that still care and have compassion and sympathy for someone in pain. Him and his assistant was very nice and professional . I don't even know the new dentist's name, and my family has been to the office for 5 appointments after the transition, because only one of us has actually SEEN him - and then only the one time. I had gone in for a cleaning and check up, and the hygenist told me that she couldn't do it because I "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage to my bone would cause me to lose my teeth, and that I needed a filling. She did take X rays. My husband went to the same office a couple of months later. The hygenist told him that he "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage to HIS bone would cause him to lose his teeth. They did do a cleaning, and he saw the elusive dentist at this time. My daughter went to the same office on the same day as her dad. She was told she had a cavity, but her gums were swollen from "severe gum disease" and the cavity was too close to the gums, which would mean filling it would cause her gums to bleed. They told her to use an Oral B electric toothbrush to get the gum disease under control and made her an appointment to come back later. Then my mother (who lives at a different address from us) went to the same dentist a week later and was told she "had severe gum disease and needed a deep cleaning" or the resulting damage would cause her to lose her teeth. No cleaning was done. My daughter went back to have her filling done. They said they couldn't do it because her gums would bleed, and never made a follow up appointment. My appointment for the filling was cancelled because the dentist would not be available. Our insurance denied authorization for the deep cleanings, stating it was not necessary based on the X rays. Upon hearing about our experience and how everything she was told was identical to what we were told, my mother went to a different dentist and was told she did NOT have severe gum disease and did NOT need a deep cleaning. Overall, what was once a wonderful office to go to for your dental service has become useless if you actually need anything, even minor care, done. I would highly recommend you go anywhere else.

We made an appointment with Dr QI to help correct the dental problems from the previous dental office. She was very professional, did excellent work as well as being very personable and informative. We finished the procedure today and the finished product is excellent. She replaced an poorly fitting upper plate with another that fit perfectly. She also replaced the lower partial that was not seated properly. It was high in the middle and when a bite was taken the front would go down and the wires would scrape the adjoining teeth in the front, when biting in the back to chew the back would go down scraping the attaching teeth destroying the enamel. Dr Qi sent us out for oral surgeon to install implants. All is well now. The previous dental office was not interested in accepting any responsibility.
