We contacted Midwest Red Iron of Seymour, MO, for a steel building construction project in early…read more2025. After providing a deposit for our building, we discovered that the company misappropriated our funds by not sending the entire deposit we provided to the steel building company. This behavior raised serious concerns about their financial practices. They did eventually rectify the situation by sending the remaining funds, but only after repeated inquiries and discussion. Midwest Red Iron had also repeatedly failed to follow-through on a timeline for dirt work, and lack of clear communication eventually led us to hire someone else for that portion of the project. Due to these experiences, an erosion of trust occurred and we decided to sever ties with Midwest Red Iron. As we began to seek other contractors to finish the project, we discovered that portions of the bids we originally received from Midwest Red Iron were significantly under-stated; leading to unexpected costs and delays. As an example, comparable bids from other reputable concrete contractors in the area came in at double to triple the cost originally estimated by Midwest Red Iron. This has led us to come to the conclusion that the original concrete estimate we received was likely wildly inaccurate or insufficient for our stated needs. We were deeply frustrated by the lack of professionalism and accountability we experienced from Midwest Red Iron. Potential customers should exercise extreme caution and thoroughly review their processes before engaging with this company. Potential customers should be aware that family members of the business owner have posted positive online reviews of this company. I would strongly encourage customers considering using this business to seek guidance and recommendations from local contractors in your area (excavation contractors, concrete contractors, etc.) as those businesses are well-suited to recommend other reputable businesses in your area. Had we done that first, we would not have put ourselves in such an unfortunate situation to begin with. Do not be fooled by this company, as it could end up costing you much more in the end.

Brian Williams is not a homebuilder! He is a wannabe perhaps…read more His concrete work on my new home was a disaster. The garage is one foot out of square. The top of the foundation which is supposed to be flat and level varies as much as 3 inches. I stopped him before he tried to pour the basement floor. Again the prep work was sub-par. So far he has refused to rectify any of these disasters. And refuses any communication. Run from this guy.
