Okay. This place is really cool. We heard about this stop in Harleton from 2 different sources within a week and decided this is a must try. The last time I was in Harleton I don't remember much there at all. Well, this is a great place for the locals and seems more like something you would see currently in a college town or somewhere not way off the beaten path like here......(Our favorite item was the picture of Nolan Ryan popping robin ventura) The food was great from first to last. We started off with some pinto beans from a pot just like Jucy's..... nice touch. Then we moved on to the House Salsa which was delicious. They serve it with tortilla chips cooked there and warm with chili powder on them and delicious like Papacitas. Next we got an appetizer of Fried Pickles. Best Ever!.....this from 2 guys who eat fried pickles everywhere. There are chips and not slices. Flash fried or something and very crisp so the texture helps make them. Delicious too with the Aioli dipping sauce. Our favorite ever and the reason we gave it 5 stars. Now, the tacos were good. "J" liked the "Sweetness" Taco with its fried shrimp and cole slaw, etc.....he really liked it. I got a "Employee of the Month" taco with fried shrimp and fried avocado and the rest and it was good too. We both got also the Bacon wrapped Shrimp tacos with grilled onions and these were good but not as much as the others. We took a friend who got the ETX taco that he liked more than the "Lynda Sue" taco with its fried catfish. Overall, awesome place. They have so many other things. Only in Texas will you find a place that creates great barbecue and serves it up in a taco shop. Wright On Taco Shop is one of the few buildings in Harleton. The small place is easy to spot; It's the one with all the vehicles parked in front. It's located less than 20 minutes from Marshall, Longview, and Jefferson. Our BBQ lunch started with chips and salsa, the staple of any good taco place. The house-made chips were dusted with chili powder and the salsa was freshly made. The salsa could have had more kick. The brisket had a nice bark, was tender, and had perfect amount of smokiness. The sauce, served on the side, was a bit sweet for my taste. The chopped brisket sandwich was just that: chopped brisket. No sloppy joe mess here. It was served on a hot, toasted bun. The accompanying fries were a let down, not as fresh as everything else. Wright On is still rough around the edges. The menu is eclectic and a little confusing at first, but you can still find familiar favorites. Sodas come in a can. Ice tea and sweeteners are an afterthought. BYOB. Wright On is catching on with recent write ups in Texas Monthly and local papers. It's worth the trip! read more

For lunch today, I made a happy discovery on a backcountry road in the tiny town of Harleton, Texas. A friendly young couple is turning out some amazing, creative, delicious tacos in a cozy, charming venue. The theme seems to be Barbeque-Mex rather than Tex-Mex. I tried the pulled pork taco. Yummy! Wright On Taco & BBQ has been on my radar for a couple of years, so on this trip I made sure to plan the route through Harleton, TX. Love a place where food crosses different cultures...and hits it out of the park with incredible food. I ordered The Dude and TexiCAN tacos along with an order of the Elotes...off the cob Mexican Street Corn. The tacos are incredible, the tortillas a perfect complement, and the combination of flavors from BBQ sauce to slaw and Verde with cotija worked beautifully. Everything was fresh and the brisket had some nice bark, was tender, and flavorful. The Elotes will blow you away with the depth of flavors in this simple, classic side. This is one of those dishes where you can't just take one bite...and the chips served have been sprinkled with a little magic too! Had a chance to meet one of the owners...Brian Wright. The food here is fantastic. Amazing to have such quality food in such a small community. But, the service is the worst. It's really good that they are not in a city with competition because they would never make it. I showed up for lunch, feeling lucky that I was there when they were actually open. It was around 12:40, not busy at all. I placed my order and told the girl behind the counter I was going to be out on the patio because I had my dog with me. She said "no problem, we'll bring it out to you". It was a lovely spring day. I waited for about 30 minutes ( because they are known to be terribly slow) before I finally went in to see if my food was ready. It was sitting on the counter. The girl said sorry, I didn't know you were outside. Different girl, but the one who took my order was RIGHT there! Needless to say my tacos were cold. Every time I order here I am disappointed in the service one way or another. Owners can save their excuses. Just do better. read more

Meh...so so tacos in the middle of nowhere so they shine in comparison to the other local restaurants (there are none). Owners like to whine and complain on social media and berate customers. Drive to Shreveport and go to Ki instead. read more

This place has been on my list of places to try and, after going, the only question I have is, "What took me so long?" I went on a friend's recommendation and I was not disappointed. When we drove up, there were at least 100 cars (trucks actually) surrounding the place. I thought, "Oh shit, this is going to be a nightmare!" Turns out they have live music twice a month or so and this was one of those times. There were a couple of tables open in the restaurant proper and we sat right down. The live music was in a backyard garden-type area outside. I could tell they were busy because they were running around pretty hard and they told me, up front, it was going to take a while. No problem, where we gonna go? I ordered the Wagyu burger (which my friend called the Wagoo burger and said it was the greatest of all time) and my wife ordered a couple of different briscuit tacos. We also got the fried pickles for an appetizer. Sat down at a table and the table top almost came off into our laps so we switched tables. About 15 minutes later they brought us some chips and queso (which we didn't order) and did so because they were sorry everything was taking so long. Five star restaurants in New York could use this kind of customer service! And I believe they make their tortilla chips in house. We got our food earlier than they said (another bonus) and I have to say, my Wagyu burger was outstanding. Not sure about best ever but it was one of the better ones I've had and I'd damn sure drive 30 minutes to get it again. My wife gave me a bite of her taco ;) and it was damn good as well. Fries were just fine. So, the food is outstanding. The people are friendly as all get-out. The attention to customers is exceptional and the atmosphere is absolutely charming! Right On...Wright On! Definitely one of the top five restaurants in all of the Longview/Marshall area for their delicious food, quirky decor and family run (i.e. they care) business. Dynamite comes in small packages, and Wright On is no exception! Their food is fresh, with a unique twist on traditional favorites.
