Our dog has epilepsy and we called after unable to control cluster seizures. When I called the first thing they told me was that the appointment was 200 dollars just to see my cat. When I got there the front desk receptionist was rude and didn't greet or had any sort of friendliness. I told them he wasn't eating and he wouldn't get up to go to the bathroom. My cat was dying and they wanted to run 3000$+ of tests on him knowing his kidneys were failing. They just hydrated him with an IV instead of euthanizing him. It seemed like they were only concerned about the money and making me pay rather than the best options for my cat and I. My cat died 10 hrs after the appointment. I wanted him to be put to sleep but all I got was an estimate. My cat was not helped in any way. Definitely DO NOT go here. Lastly, the vet seemed frustrated and apathetic with me when I mentioned I couldn't afford my cat's 3000 dollar treatment. She kept insisting, even though I mentioned I was a college student and couldn't afford it. I tried to be friendly with the vet and I wanted to see what they were doing to my cat but they just took him to the back for 3 hours while trying to convince me to give them 300+ dollars for tests. This facility lacks professionalism, empathy, and friendliness, they are not helpful, nor do they show or have compassion for their patients. They are like scammers preying on people in vulnerable situations, trying to save their pets which often times are seen as their own child or family. My cat was old and sick and very very loved. I wanted my cat to have a peaceful death but he ended having a slow death and I found him dead in my bedroom floor that same night. read more

Rude staff. Very cold and does not seem to care about your situation. When I called to explain the situation and wanted to try to determine what to do I was told I couldn't speak to a doctor because she was too busy to talk to me. And told me they don't have time for that. It would have been nice to talk to the doctor or have someone ask her the questions I had bc it sounds like there was not as much concern as I was told. They made me feel uncomfortable when I came in. I became defensive and wondering why everyone was being so rude. Eyes were rolled at me, attitude was given, a thumbs up with a sarcastic cool was said to me and when I went to go get my dog back from the tech because of how uncomfortable I felt with how I was being treated, Amy D. assumed I was coming to attack and touch her and told me I better watch it. My two children were with me and upset as well. I understand needing to wait because of more severe cases, but the attitude and unprofessionalism is completely unacceptable. I should be able to ask questions and inquire about the situation wait time, etc without such attitude and rudeness. I would like to mention that Dr. Gregory was kind and did not have the same attitude as the other staff that I encountered. read more

This vet clinic saved my dog's life after another emergency vet said there was nothing wrong with him. My dog was acting weird, arching his back when he'd inhale. Another ER vet said he was just stretching. I did not trust this answer because this was the first time he was acting like this. I drove 30 miles to WVRC in Grafton. They diagnosed him with aspiration pneumonia, put him on an IV and kept him until he stabilized. He made a full recovery after a few months. If I had not come to WVRC when I did, the outcome would have been disastrous. read more

They don't care about animals. I have a dog reactive dog who was having some issues breathing. Called them and told them. The lady said we would have to wait inside to get seen. I explained but she said no. Even offered to sit in the car with him and would come in to check status. Was told every time I go out my place in line would go back down to starting. We recently had a terrible accident with our pup which required him to be hospitalized for a couple nights. I immediately called WVRC (my go to) and they guided me through the process. It was some of the of the worst and most anxious days I've had knowing my baby was sick but the staff at the clinic really made me feel at ease and took care him like family. They even let me FaceTime my pup a couple times a day because we couldn't visit due to covid. I also thank you guys for putting up with my constant calls to get updates. The doctor even called me every day personally to give me status reports. $300 later I left not knowing anymore then when I came. Feared my dog was bit by something,vet comes out says her legs swollen- duh. Days later notice there is a sore. Why was that not noted when vet saw her? It was obvious it wasn't a sprain or a broken bone or anything of that nature because she was walking on it jumping around and not cautious with it at all. We call our primary vet and they told us to bring him to the ER. We brought our sick dog in - lethargic, couldn't hold his head up, eyes couldn't stay open. They did tick testing and full panels and found nothing other than "slightly" elevated white blood cell count - that turned out to be quite high- and fever that would indicate an infection of some kind. On discharge after spending a lot of money we asked to speak to the dr in regards to getting antibiotics. The dr never came out and sent the tech to relay in so many words that they didn't feel that was the cause and essentially treated for pain. We then needed to bring him to our primary vet that regarded the Er was foolish to not treat with antibiotics immediately. We should have never gone and just went to our vet, considering we wasted $900 and needed to go to our vet to get antibiotics we originally said we wanted and our dog stayed sick longer. read more

I brought my dog in to this place, and when the vet came and saw us she said she was concerned for my dog's well being and that she needed to be hospitalized. but wouldn't do anything unless we paid over a 1,000.00 on the spot. ( durring a holiday time.) so they sent us home after giving her a shot and some meds. 8 hours later my dog past away. To me that's concidered cruilty to an animal and they should be held responsible for this. why is it a human being can get fixed up and not worry about insurance or paying the bill right away. but an animal who is a part of your family has to be paid up front before there even seen. read more

Took in a rare breed dog, with splenic torsion. While not common in the general canine population, it is in this breed. I took in several articles by veterinarians and the national breed club to explain this. Waited several hours only to be told we could do an ultrasound the next week. I knew it was critical and couldn't wait. Found a surgeon in Illinois who could operate the next morning. Less than 12 hours after seeing WVARC, a 9lb, congested spleen was removed. The dog is now happy and healthy, but would be dead if I had waited. Took photos and vet records in to the clinic, thinking it would be educational for their vet, but NEVER heard a word back. read more

I had to take my dog, Crash, here late Sunday night as something was terribly wrong with him. We decided on this place as we heard good things about them from others. They checked us in quick and did an exam right away. The vet informed us he had a mass on his spleen and needed emergency surgery...or we could put him to sleep. Of course we opted for surgery. Dr. Mallo was SO GREAT. Very kind, gentle, explained everything to us so we could easily understand, was patient, and so sweet. The whole staff kept us up to date with his status for the two days he was there and told us to call anytime we needed anything. We took our 12 year old bulldog in because she couldn't breath, thought she was having an allergic reaction. Vet looks at her and says she thinks it's bloat but it could be a heart problem and wants to do xrays. Vet does xrays and says she doesn't believe it bloat but can't tell if it's her heart. Vet requests to keep her overnight to monitor her breathing. I call the vet to see how she is doing in the morning, she says her breathing is good now but she wants the radiologist to read her X-rays to see if it is her heart. I told her we were coming to pick her up and she could call us after they were read. No phone call from the vet so we assume it was a allergic reaction. 2 weeks later took our dog to our vet because her belly still looks bloated. Our vet does xrays and immediately informs us she is in congestive heart failure, the fluid is extreme and suggested we only get 7 days of heart medication because she did not feel that she would last past that. I called the vet from WVRC and she says she Is sorry she forgot to call us because she was off the next day. Talk to the office manager who says she will refund $40 for the results not being read of the $ 1000 we paid. Our dog went for 2 weeks accumulating fluid because she forgot. A month later we had to put her down because the fluid was so excessive and couldn't get it under control with meds, she was passing out when she ate, drank and sleeping because she couldn't breathe . How does our vet know right away it is her heart and an emergency vet who is supposed to be trained even more not know and then just forget to call for something so serious? read more

Door was locked when we got to the clinic with an emergency. It was very unexpected and we were distraught. We had to bang on the door for 2 minutes to get help while our dog was dying in our arms. The vet was very nice and caring. One of the technicians not so much. No one called us when our dogs ashes were in. WVRC blamed the cremation service and the cremation service blamed WVRC. read more

We are very surprised to see the negative evaluations posted on Yelp. Our experience was excellent. We did not experience any rudeness - on the contrary the staff was very courteous and respectful. The staff was also well trained, informed, capable and compassionate (given that we ended our visit by euthanizing our "little girl" of nine years, the compassion is a very important consideration). We visited the WVRC because our regular veterinarian couldn't fit us in for an emergency: our dog had suddenly started bleeding from her mouth. WVRC did an exam and diagnostics and we learned that our little girl - who had been previously diagnosed with a very enlarged heart and significant heart murmur - had a condition that was keeping her blood from coagulating; hence the bleeding from what might have otherwise been a routine problem that her body would have corrected. Given her many problems, there was nothing to be done and we had to make the horrible decision to euthanize. WVRC made us comfortable while we agonized over what to do (not that there was choices; euthanizia was the only reasonable, responsbile and compassionate option) and could not have been kinder or more professional in every respect. I took my cat there a few years ago with a broken leg and they did a great , although expensive job. Took the same cat there last week with a bite from a fight. They shaved the area and cleaned the wound and gave me pills. $267.00 . A few days later I'm petting the cat and feel a large bump so I call my Vet. As I'm on the phone waiting I look over to see a stream of puss running down the cats side from the abscess they missed next to the other bite. Got in to my Vet , same treatment $113.00. If your going to charge top dollar you better give top treatment and I sure didn't get that. Very disappointed. read more

Do not see Dr. Gallegos. Very rude and unprofessional. I brought my dog in for an orthopedic specialists opinion at my doctors recommendation due to my dog having acl issues, infection in knee and tail, and most recently bilateral dislocated wrists. He not only did not remove splints to assess, but had to get off phone 3 times to go back and assess my dog based on what I was saying. He did no tests of any sort and said if my vet can open a book she can figure out how to do it. That we can reach back out to him if we decide surgery, but probably won't work for her so need to decide what life I want for her. He stated that there is no way he could have done any tests in a initial appointment (even though he had talked to my vet and had all of my dogs xrays and history). I would never go back to this facility or recommend them to anyone. If my dog needs surgery I will find somewhere else. We could have done further testing 2 weeks ago vs waiting for a specialist opinion. I rarely write reviews but this experience was so awful. read more

My dog was euthanized after I was prompted to do so. It was ahorrible experience- Yes her condition was critical from a extremely low blood count and after they gave her glucose she looked a lot better in the gums and eyes.She still couldn't get up because she needed to recoup her strength but the only solution that I was repeatedly given from the vet is that she should be euthanized-I really didn't agree and wanted to go ahead with further treatment-which iwas told that it would be expensive and she might be messed up because of her already compromised liver condion She was only 4 years and 11 months old-the day before this she was running and playing and seemed fine-I was willing to pay the price for her care-after a glucose treatment she went from 20 to 93-which is considered norm and had red gums alert and clear eyes I am extremely upset with the solution that they gave me to end her life and I felt there was no support at all from those who were supposed to be helping her I finaaly agreed to ethanize her and have been cryoing since-wrong call from these people and from me. I have been going to the Grafton location for several years as I have Persian cats with multiple issues. Dr Temo is a critical care specialist and she has been treating my babies periodically. She is the most comprehensive, knowledgeable and caring vet. She takes the time to exam them in detail and she is very patient with them. She always explains the results, courses of treatment in detail and takes the time to discuss my options. Dr Temo is an excellent doctor and exceptional at diagnosing problems. I have referred her to friends who feel the same about the care Dr Temo gives. Dr Temo is the best! read more

I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so after my horrible experience here this evening. Before I start, please note I rated facility one star only because the only redeeming quality was the front desk staff was polite. I called ahead this evening regarding my 15 year old dog who I brought in to be evaluated for a possible urinary tract infection ( I am in the medical profession and my dog has had similar symptoms and been treated for urinary tract infection twice prior by different vet) Waited an hour, saw no other traffic come in, asked how long it was going to be to see a vet. Vet came in sneering and announced she was only vet there at night and that they needed to perform a needle extraction of urine from my dog's bladder in order to obtain a diagnosis. Ridiculous. Why have two other vets been able to diagnose a urinary tract infection with no such procedure (diagnosis made through urine dip and culture) and they have to do a procedure to get a diagnosis? I challenged her regarding this and she was rude and confrontational. Worst customer service ever. I suspect price gauging and upcharging for services that unsuspecting customers who do not know better may not question and pay for without knowing better. They charged me $60 for a urine dip that they didn't even share results with me on. I left in a rush. Will not return under any circumstances. Buyer beware- if you have a true pet emergency, you may not have many options in the area. Just ask questions about what they are doing and why. read more

Kindest most caring vets EVER! We brought our kitty in for a skin infection. They used a long-acting antibiotic which saves us the trouble of trying to get kitty to swallow a pill twice a day - thank God for advancement in medicine! But I mention it because our regular vet doesn't use these long acting meds yet and I appreciate that WVRC is "up with the times"!! read more

Not sure that I could say enough about the fabulous staff here. When our seven month old German Sheppard suddenly contracted a very serious infection on his neck. They not only zeroed in on what it was, but what would painlessly and quickly get him back to himself.
