Great, attentive & caring doctors and staff. They are very good at what they do. They are all friendly, personable and keep a clean, organized facility with the focus on making all pets (and pet guardians) that walk through their doors feel comfortable and welcomed. I've had the pleasure of working with Dr Paige Wilder, who has fantastic bedside manners, has shown incredible dedication to my pets, and is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in her examinations. She explains my pet's concerns to me in a way that is easily understandable right then and there so that I'm not left wondering & questioning later. Honestly, couldn't have asked for a better vet. I had bad experiences with Dr Boss and her staff nearly two decades ago at the Little Animal Hospital in Grafton (many did, hence the name change) so when my cat recently started showing signs of a serious illness, I had some concerns being told this was one of the few places I could go to that wasn't an emergency clinic. In the two to three weeks I've been dealing with them, I can see nothing has changed. First, I was told blood test results would be given to me by the end of the following day. I didn't get results until two days after the day and it was a call to my voicemail right as they closed and the doctor was out on vacation the next week plus. This resulted in having to beg to get an ultrasound appointment. Second, the results of the ultrasound were delayed. The email with info to help pick a path to take arrived after 9pm and wasn't received until the next day. Third, a simple request to start the medication regimen went unheeded. This has now resulted in an unknown timeframe on getting medications. There's no ability to have someone stop in for you because they don't call and let you know if they have filled the scripts or when they will fill them. So whoever you may send sits there waiting or leaves empty handed. People work and need to adjust schedules to make appointments and get medications. That fact is ignored by this clinic. It's amazing that with already low expectations on the quality of their care, they managed to aim even lower across the board. Beware of this clinic. read more

Nice vet clinic. They do have a focus on continuing care for your pet - that includes weight management, teeth cleanings, and all sorts of other things to make your dog's life as long and happy as possible. They even will do baseline blood tests so that they can determine if, in the future, something goes wrong, whether it is a real problem or not. Obviously, this type of care is going to be a bit more expensive, but to me it is worth it. The other really nice thing is that they always have a vet on call. We have called them up in the past to check to see if we needed to bring our puppers to a vet urgent care, and they reassured us that it was not an emergency. They do have pretty overpriced prescriptions / treats (for example, you can buy Veggiedents online for about half the cost). Overall, I would give them 4/5 stars. read more

We have been taking all our dogs to Best Friends for about 25 years+. Dr. Boss the owner & her whole staff is committed in giving your pet(s) the best care they can give them. Yes, they are a bit pricey from what I heard from other people that take their pets elsewhere. But, to me the care they give our dogs is worth the extra price. I would rather know my furry kids are getting well cared for than save a few bucks. And, the whole staff has always been friendly, courteous & caring. Took my 15 year old cat in for a check up. She's developed a growth on her ear and I was concerned. They stalked me for 6 months, by phone and email, and made me feel like a bad person because I can't afford to spend $500 to get her teeth cleaned. She had rubbed and cut her mouth on her shed'n blade the day before (which she does often, crazy cat). They assured me it was more than that after less than 5 minutes with her. I can't even afford to spend that kind of money on my own medical bills in this economy. Besides she likes to chew on nip covered toothbrushes which I've been told by other vets (before and since than) is good enough. Used to love this clinic before they upgraded and moved. Now I feel like they are just trying to make money to support the new location. read more

The staff is amazing here! They are caring, extremely knowledgeable, responsive and provide practical advice. This is my third dog and he has a lot of health challenges. The vet techs are always helpful on the phone and the vet always calls back the same day. read more

We were given a list of vets who cared for small animals and we seen best friends accepted small animals we called and ask if they accepted our type of pet they told us yes we brought them in they asked if we've ever had this type of pet we explained to them we did not so we put our trust in her for what was best she gave us heart guard for dogs to them which they aren't dogs the second month of giving it to them and one of the two animals got violently sick we rushed him to the ER vet at 2 am they explained that they could preform surgery and they believed there was a blockage but we took him home for the night watch him struggle and cling to life we were frantically looking for help we found amazing people to help they explained that heart guard shouldn't be given to them and that he was being positioned by it and now it's stuck in his small stomach and that it doesn't dissolve in his stomach they pumped him full of fluids gave him special food to help him push it out and about an hour later he popped out the pill whole overall would NOT recommend this place as we almost lost one of our fur babies and we will be contacting them with a bill for what we had to all pay for since DR. Place is very nice and clean. The vet Dr Horsch is pretty good with very friendly staff. The only thing is that their prices are really high. We've heard this quite a lot from friends. We are new to the area so we have only been there twice with our two goldens. I think the prices are comparable to the Banfield prices. read more

Appt 1 we had a free vet visit coupon from the shelter and got him 2nd set of shots. ~ $105.00 Appt 2 Next visit was with a tech as it would be cheaper to have a tech give him shots. I am not sure what you consider cheaper but this was the bill. Office Visit & overhead Cost $30.50 Medical Waste Disposal Fee $ 3.50 Puppy Exam/Consult $31.00 DHLPP series Vac $30.00 Total: $103.33 for one shot Now this was to see a vet tech, not a vet. They then called me back to tell me that I owed an additional $37.50 for the Lyme shot we received. read more

Very stressful experiance. They have a nice building which clients are paying for through highly inflated fees, their bills include things like (facility fees, waste disposal fees and admin fees thats before the examination even) The starting price for an exam before any treatment was huge. Lots and lots of upselling. Pushy nurse. Will not go back here again read more

Love that there are three vets so if you need a same day appt. it's easy. Excellent friendly staff. My dog has multiple allergies and is on costly medications. They gave me options to decrease my costs. They are always great about follow up and communication. Dr. Horsch is fabulous... read more

Dr Boss and everyone at Best Friends treat my pets with total commitment! I have 3 pets with medical issues. They are totally committed to providing care as quickly as possible. Dr Boss has called or sent email message early in the morning and late into the evening to help keep our pet family healthy and happy. I am a dog trainer with 2 dogs and 2 cats and found this clinic to be expensive and overbearing. They were always trying to "up-sell" me by recommending their $25 nail trimmings among other things. The final straw came when I brought my cats in for their annual vaccines. They decided to micro-manage the weight of one of my cats (she is a food-thief who was 2 lbs overweight). I already measured my cats food out at each feeding and fed the cats separately so each would get the right amount. They continually wanted me to bring her back so they could weigh her (and charge for the office visit) and talk down to me about how I need to "measure my food" and "can we send you along with a measuring cup" as though I was completely incompetent and mistreating my cat in someway. They also informed me that my cat had gingivitis and needed me to rinse her teeth with a solution twice daily as treatment. This lasted about a week before we were unable to "treat" her anymore. (I don't know a cat who will happily let you squirt liquid in her mouth, specifically on all her teeth, and sit still for you while you do it.) We have since switched vets and both cats weights are not an issue and neither cat has gingivitis- even years later! How about that! Overbearing and over-priced. Do not go here. read more
