It took me a long time to decide to receive help because I thought I could struggle through all the changes I was noticing physically and mentally as naturally occurring life cycles, but after some research and some prayers I decided I wanted to fight for my health. I talked to my PCP and listened to some friends on HRT and started my search. My first inquiry was just a phone call with a breakdown of what becoming a patient looks like and it contained pricing and visit expectations. It is not cheap, but it is the best money I have spent on myself, maybe ever. The first actual exam contained a lab draw, body scan, VS, and a lengthy screening exam to cover alllll of the things I had been noticing. Second visit was a review of labs and another lengthy discussion about treatment recommendations and options. Megan treated me as a unique female with specific goals, and gave me recommendations to help me get back to my normal baseline before perimenopause started really affecting my mood and energy levels. I have never felt like she is treating my symptoms generically with a "one size fits all approach." She adjust meds to my symptoms, repeats labs for efficacy of treatment in conjunction with how I'm feeling, and he's been supportive and encouraging throughout. I had a lot of fear about starting HRT and she talked with me about all of it, providing knowledge and evidence based practice techniques.
