Wow oh wow! Skiing can make your muscles groan when you are 65. Skied a week in Aspen and then met our kids in Winter Park. I decided that dad and kids could go without me on Sunday. Last minute call to Alpenglow and had Monica for a short 45 minutes. It was wonderful, too short. Cute spa, felt clean and zen like. After skiing a few days I again needed a deep tissue. This time I had Stephanie Cabeza for 90 minutes, deep massage. She just moved from Dallas which is close to me. I wish she would move back! She's amazing. Small massage place locate in center of Winter Park shopping area. They make you remove shoes when coming in and they give you slides to wear. I went with a friend and really only one chair to use for removal so a little cramped at first. Service was good. Massage was good. To bring it up a notch I wish the place had more relaxation space for before or after massage. Another improvement would be to allow people to pick aroma of room or oil. I never write negative reviews but BUYER BEWARE! My husband and I were very excited to start our week-long vacation with a Treat Your Feet massage. We arrived five minutes before our appt time (recommended) and started promptly at 1:30. I was walking out of the treatment room at 2:07 and my husband was waiting in the lobby! The description for this service says '45 mins' and includes a scalp and hand massage. When the tech had concluded my foot massage and said, "take your time getting up", I asked if I was mistaken in thinking there was a scalp and hand massage included and was told that "they didn't have time". VERY DISAPPOINTED ($90 + $20 tip= $110 for each of us!) for what we received!! When you shave off 15 mins of a 45 min. treatment, that's 1/3 of the service! The only reason I gave 3-stars is that the massage itself was excellent! read more

I feel like a new person after my a deep tissue massage with Anastasia yesterday afternoon. My right arm was numb from a knot in my shoulder, my lower back was killing me, and I was stressed. She communicates to makes sure the pressure is perfect and goes the extra mile, like putting a tissue with a tiny dab of peppermint oil under my headrest to make it easier to breathe. So, I called the spa a prior to my trip and spoke to Tracey (the owner) and she was nice and very helpful. I like deep tissue work ... soft massages stress me out. So, I asked Tracey which therapist she would recommend and she said Jen without hesitation. I booked a 90 minute deep tissue and after my second day of skiing and traversing the mountain, I really needed it. Jen was FANTASTIC. She listened to my requests on pressure and areas of focus, but also listening to what my muscles said once she got started. We had a lovely, light conversation during the treatment, as well - and talking on the table isn't usually my style, but the conversation was great and not at all intrusive. Booked a Swedish massage with Nick, who was great! I had been downhill skiing for two full days prior to the massage and was cross-country skiing earlier that same day. I had been having neck pains (just from muscle tightness) throughout my trip as well as tightness in my hips. After my massage I felt super relaxed and the pain in my neck disappeared (and still hasn't returned a week later)! Nick also took time after my massage was over to show me some stretches I could do to alleviate the tightness in my hips. I am a local who has lived here in Grand County for over twenty years. Over the years, I have had numerous massages from many different people. Some were great and some were just okay, but I have never written a review for any of them on any website. I have to say I was INSPIRED by this experience to finally write a review. Just walking in to Alpenglow is relaxing. From the beautiful hardwood floors to the high ceilings and large windows, the vibe is relaxation and comfort. Tracey really cares about her clients; she spends time chatting and finding out about your health, injuries and even what your expectations are from your session. The treatment rooms at Alpenglow are beautiful and warm; you can just tell there was a lot of thought and care put in to the business. I asked Tracey what the space looked like when the business moved in and she said it had been bare bones and because of that they had been able to create their vision, and it really shows. The massage itself was amazing. Tracey incorporates traditional massage with Healing Touch practice to restore balance and create a sense of harmony in your body and mind. She concentrated on the parts of my body that I had expressed having some problems with and it was amazing. Prior to the massage she asked me if it was okay to incorporate some of her Thai style massage training, I was all for it! Tracey has studied massage and medicine all over the world and has a unique and incredible technique. I loved her style of massage and felt that she had really listened to my needs and gone above and beyond. The only complaint I have is that the hour went by far too quickly! I have no idea if they were good or bad I was excited to get a massage booked one at 8:45 in the morning. Overnight my oldest son started to run a fever. So I couldn't come in the morning because my husband took our other son skiing. But we were able to get childcare so I could get a massage at the 3 something appointment. But they still charge me the late cancel for the morning one, so I did not go. I respect having a process; but one girl in the morning told me as she was unlocking "we understand life happens." But then the other young lady who is much less friendly-who attended the front desk chatted with the owner and they charged me 50%. Bummer. read more

I would suggest you get reservations ahead of time as walking in, especially on a busy weekend, is probably a risky bet. I had a 60 minute "Mountain Massage" with Jessica and it was actually perfect.
