Ordered a floral piece for my daughter's birthday and she was more than thrilled! From the ease of ordering them online to having the flowers delivered to the school where she works, the entire process was seemless and provided a great experience!

My actual rating would be 4.5. I have a girlfriend who lives in South Bend (I live in Washington State). She has always loved Wygant Floral, so I have utilized their services for special occasions since the late 90s. Admittedly, I have not order from them in several years. I needed a funeral spray for my girlfriend's mother. I checked Wygant's on-line reviews before ordering and found some disappointing reviews on Yelp (less so on Google). The common theme for those expressing dissatisfaction was that the end-product was not as full as the image on the website and some of the images posted looked quite sparse. I noticed that these reviews were from earlier in the pandemic and wondered if supply chain issues had impaired Wygant's ability to deliver to expectation. I will say that Wygant's strong suit has always been (and still is) is excellent customer service. I called and spoke with Therese (I hope I am recalling her name correctly). I shared my concern over the reviews I had read. She said the company was well established and had been providing services in South Bend for decades. She also noted that they "were open" during the pandemic and she couldn't understand where the negative reviews were coming from. I was wise enough to ASK if the flowers were available to make the 3 sprays under consideration. They did not have lavender flowers, so that spray was eliminated. The attached image shows the spray I selected as it appears on Wygant's website. I was advised that the gladiolas were not in season, but they would substitute other white flowers and preserve the contemporary look, with the flowers sweeping at a diagonal. I was also advised that the broad green leaves were not available. I asked that they not substitute the spiky palm leaves, as those have a more traditional appearance. She assured me that the spray would look "full and beautiful" and they would preserve the contemporary feel. The day before the funeral, I requested and received via email an image of the spray they created. It seems they found a few broad, green leaves, which was a nice surprise. The spray did not replicate the fullness of the image on the website. In particular, my eye was drawn to the 'empty' areas in the middle of the spray (blue circles). I realize that exact reproductions are not possible (and I did not expect this), but my spray appeared sparser than I anticipated based on the internet image. I called and shared my disappointment/concern with Adrienne, who was very polite. I asked if she could insert 2 more white flowers of her choice in the 'empty' areas marked with the blue circles and she agreed to do so. She said that the sprays are "filled to value". I offered to compensate Wygant for the 2 additional flowers and she said this would not be necessary. She sent me an image of the final spray and I was quite pleased with the end result, as was my girlfriend. Adrienne had placed a small cluster of small white flowers in each area. (I apologize to those more knowledgeable than I . . . I have no idea what type of flowers she used.) Adrienne had even inserted a third cluster of small white flowers toward the outer border of the spray (white circle), which was above and beyond what we had agreed to. Since the flower arrangements are "filled to value", I wonder if the images depicted on their website set unrealistic expectations. Perhaps Wygant should post images of the sprays and the bouquets that they have recently created (and the price). If you are a persnickety perfectionist like I am . . . ask the florist at any shop if they have the flowers they need to make the bouquet you are considering, the substitutions they propose, and if the images on the website provide an accurate depiction of the end product in terms of size and fullness.

I ordered a teleflora arrangement through Wygant Floral for the funeral service of my baby cousin. She was only 7 weeks old. I was unable to attend and I wanted to express love with the right flowers. I spoke to a wonderful lady on the phone & then submitted my order online. The service was out of state. The service was today and my cousin messaged me to thank me for the beautiful flowers and the angel wings plaque. She said the flowers were beautiful, so thank you so much for conveying my love for them with a beautiful arrangement.

PROOF IS IN THE PICTURES "We ran out of the smaller roses" was what I was told when I called asking why the arrangement that was shown in the picture looked like the arrangement that is $40 less. They put a couple extra of the bigger roses in the arrangement that would "compensate" for the lack of the smaller roses. Just look at the pictures! It's not even close to what I ordered!! I called and they said they added six extra roses (totaling 18), I asked my s/o how many there were and she said 16. My s/o isn't in preschool, so she can count further than 16, and there would be no secondary gains from lying since she didn't even know they were coming. I called a second time and got a guy who said, "well they were filled to value and the owner said we put 18 in". You mean the owner that is fine with just not informing people their order will be altered and look nothing like what was ordered? Yeah I'm sure they put 100 in and I'm just a stupid customer. "Do you want me to refund you $20 will that make you happy?" Receiving what was ordered would make me happy, what an awful experience. So if you want to pay $138.08, to not get what was ordered and then get rudely asked if you want a 15% discount when you realize it's so clearly not what you ordered, then sure go here!!

This is what I ordered and didn't get. Ordered for my mom on valentines day. the substitute is next and terrible for an upgrade

I needed something simple but classy for a teacher appreciation gift. They wrapped it beautifully with a handwritten note. Perfect touch!

I remembered the first time I visited this place I and saw their cute merchandise and trinkets I knew I had to come back. The merchandise they carry is similar to Hobby Lobby, or T.J. Maxx's merchandise for home decor, gifts and trinkets except more unique and a tad bit more expensive. But I love anything unique that's not mass produced with that unique personal touch. But a lot of their merchandise are marked higher than most places. They have a nice variety of selections from jewelry, to baby gifts, home decor, snacks, cute pens and pencils for the office, etc... But if your gift shopping for someone and want a special non generic gift or looking for something unique for yourself and for your home this is the place to go. Their merchandise also comes in different styles from contemporary to traditional pieces which appeals to different tastes. Awesome!!! And their shop is coordinated by color. Sometimes they have discount specials... where if your first or last name starts with a certain letter in the alphabet you save 20%, and they also have a rewards card. Once that's filled up you can save money, but otherwise when shopping there just expect to shell out some extra cash. This is one cutest gift shops I've been to. I go here even if I'm not visiting someone in the hospital. But because this place is located in a hospital parking can be hard to find. But I recommend checking this place out.

I got to visit Make South Bend during one of its Makers Markets, which meant that I got to chat with some makers along with shopping. In particular, I chatted with an awesome jewelry maker. I wish I remembered her name. I bought two hammered copper necklaces from her -- two for $20 was a deal I couldn't pass up -- and she seemed so excited to be there and talk about her craft. Make hosted a soap maker, other jewelers and some paper goods from what I can remember. And the display at the front of the store really drew me in. There were a few T-shirts and tank tops that I wanted so much to take home with me. Alas, they were only available in small and 2X. I definitely plan to peak in on my next South Bend visit and see if they have more available. Make also hosts classes. If I lived in Michiana, I would definitely take advantage of these. Melton crayon art, pine cone projects, wreath making, screenprinting, laser cutting Star Wars ornaments -- I so want in! And as I told the owner, I love that she focuses on the crafts part of making, as well as more technical aspects, like laser cutting and Arduino programming. So many makerspaces only showcase technical arts; Make has a more well-rounded vision. South Bend peeps, find your inner creative at Make!
