This is a private mom & pops farm and they provide buckets and clippers as well. If you rather not pick your own fruits they have fruits stand with already picked fruits you can purchased. Their fruit stand consist of lime, naval oranges, persimmon, grapefruits, the hard to find blanca sapote. Which if you've never had it, you must let it sit on the counter until it's ripe and soften to eat. They're sweet and custardy and I've never found them in supermarkets. You must go early October- early November. By mid November their persimmons are already picked cleaned or too high up to pick. We do love walking the farm and taking photos. The family also have dogs and they are dogs friendly. They even offered my dog, Peanut a dog treat but we kept our dog in the car most of the time. They do allow dogs on leashes and you must pick up after your dogs. On one side of the farm they also have jujube and another type of persimmon. Must ask before picking these. In addition to the picking, the event has a small festive vibe with local vendors, live music, and food trucks. Whether you're grabbing a cold drink, shopping handmade goods, or just enjoying the music under the beautiful trees, there is something for everyone. The whole setting is incredibly photogenic too, especially in the afternoon light. This venue is both family- and dog-friendly. Admission is only $5 and includes parking, making it a very affordable outing. They sell lavender by the bundle, so you can take home as much (or as little) as you'd like. Just a heads-up: the farm is on a windy/country road, and cell reception is limited, so it's best to plan ahead and download directions before you go. Also, wear good walking shoes and bring sunscreen, it gets warm out there! There are tons of bees, so 'bee' respectful of them. What makes this place extra special is the story behind it. Daily Blooms is run by the grandchildren of Helen Daily, and you can feel the love and pride they've poured into restoring and maintaining this beautiful land. I was part of a private tour for a homeschool co-op. This included 40+ parents and children ranging…read morefrom 18months- teenagers. Upon arrival the location from the front the street was quaint and idyllic with street parking. Allow me to state the good aspects: 1. The apples and pears were delicious. 2. The helper (don't know her name) was kind and approachable. 3. The views from the top of the hill are beautiful. 4. The cider was tasty! 5. Arleen's apple facts were interesting and one child attendee guessed the answers with shocking accuracy. Now the not-so great: 1. The wi-fi signal is very weak which makes paying via Venmo a problem. 2. THE FLIES!!!!! THE FLIES!!! THE FLIES!!!! The flies were something biblical. They were quite insufferable... Everyone was swatting the air around them or some part of their body, or trying to shoo flies away from their children's faces, arms, and legs. Which you can imagine caused quite a constant murmur of chatting among parents helping kiddos. At this point, Arleen decided to share some apple facts before apple picking commenced. She did not have a mic- so a group of this size, that's spread out could hear. Some of the older children (8-13) that weren't currently swatting flies tried their best to answer questions. This went on for about 5-7ish minutes before, "Farmer John," (Arleen's husband) yelled out how he wanted everyone's attention, and expressed how rude we were all acting (yes, those were his words) because some people were talking and not standing still quietly to listen to Arleen's presentation. This instantly put a sour taste over the whole experience. Parents were doing their best to make the best of a not-so great fly situation. Also, there was a certain level of excitement from the kids being around their friends and the anticipation of picking apples that deflated. There could have been a more tactful way to address this, as well as a realistic expectation of how little children (and adults) that are being swarmed by flies behave. Making a blanket accusatory statement to adults and children on what's supposed to be a fun family memory-making occasion was unacceptable. I'm glad to report "Farmer John" did not make further comments to parents or children, and the tour ended without further incident. I think tours would be good for a single family, people without children, or singles looking to learn more about apples. I also think anyone considering a private tour to inquire about the flies and expectations of children before visiting. This could potentially help you avoid a situation like the one shared above.

The GPS kept re-routing me to volcan, but if you continue straight rather than taking a left onto farmer road, continue straight ahead past volcan and you will see farmer road continued and take a right there. The entrance of the location is the 3rd driveway off of farmer road. My friend had organized an event here for a group of ~20 people and they accommodated our group and were so friendly! I like how each group gets their own booking time and you get a private experience. We got to try the apple cider that they make, a several variety of apples, honey and take home some bags of tea. The owners gave a great educational overview of the types of apples, the farm, and how they take care of the trees here. They also had some other fruits including plums and persimmons that were absolutely delicious. They had a unique variety of apples called russet apples which look like russet potatoes but they taste so sweet and I think this was my favorite apple to try! The gift shop here is adorable and their Jams specifically the apricot jasmine and strawberry rose taste SOOO GOOD and are a must to get! There is also a bathroom here which is really clean. These urban gardeners purchased a couple of greenhouses and grow their own micro-greens onsite. The cute wood cut signs and decor are reminiscent of years past when people spent less time connected and more time being present. I love the chalkboard menu which is hand drawn and prepared with love. Right now the product line consists of various microgreens like radish, beet/kale blend and an all purpose blend. You can purchase a tray of living greens or smaller portions that are cut to order. I brought a flat home and used it to brighten up my salad, and when I return the flat they offer $1.00 credit towards my next purchase. Now I can shop locally and reuse the packaging for a win win. They also have cute logo merchandise, local honey and hemp buds. But the best part about this greenhouse is that they are going to grow food on this valuable land. Most of the other greenhouses in Leucadia are currently growing high density housing at an alarming rate.
