Have stayed at this property a couple times over the years and had no issues or complaints. My son really enjoyed the indoor/outdoor pool. Adorable rooms with a beach view. On the northern end of town, so plan to drive or walk a lot.

Because it's "Off season" we got really good deals for this motel. 3 nights for 124$. It may not be the cleanest, most beautiful motel on the beach front but it dos the job. Beds are pretty comfortable. Shower works. Most importantly doors lock, heater / AC work and the location is beautiful. Easy walk to the beach and all the cools shining the area. The customer service was good also.

DO NOT BOOK...I really hate writing bad reviews but this one right here warrants it. This is a ROACH MOTEL! There's fixtures off place and it's just completely RIP OFF for families. If you're on a budget u get it but not this place! I stayed here with my husband and kids and OMG! 1. Upon first arrival I found a dead roach in the door & hubs convinced me it was a dead fly. However, our 13yr found what we thought were ants in his food; he left on the counter for maybe 20mins!! Next day I see tiny bugs seldomly around the sink. First thought was "omg these are baby roaches" but hubs convinced me it was just a minor ant issue. As a person who lived around roaches when I was a very young girl I know wtf a roach is. On our last night as I was on FaceTime with my friend, I saw a big ass mother roach crawl up the wall from behind the couch and when I screamed tried to hit it, it ran back behind! We immediately packed everything and washed all the ish to my grams house to wash. Not to mention we had two joint rooms so our kids in is one and we are in other! They can't say it's an isolated issue bc it's all over! The pool is barely cleaned out it seems. It's just better to stay on the beach or a hated in law than this place! Tonight take something with you! The fact that they only show the suite to lure ppl insane! This place is great to beach link ups but staying absolutely not. I'm sure some of these employees if not all re taking roaches home with them. 2. When we asked for extra towels some how maintenance entered our rooms as our kids were getting dressed talking about a down phone! I cursed their asses out so heavy bc why would you walk in as my daughter is partial clothed. They did come back with towels after that lol, actually twice as many towels asked for. 3. They will not give you plates or forks during room service it's all styrofoam. The lady literally when I called to get plates for leftovers she said, "we don't give those out bc we're low staffed and if I do bring you the plate, I'm going to need it back"...I said," of course I'm not going to take it home, I'm assuming cleaning will come grab"...rep says," well actually no, I'd need right back" I said, "well I need 3 but this seems a lot so it's fine". I was so blown guys I just went a got paper plates and forks. I got no footage of critters bc seriously would you go grab your phone when your in shock and disbelief? I just wanted it gone!

    Roaches from the conference area

Disgusting hotel. Run down and decrepit...There is a reason it is one of the most affordable on the strip. Came here for a family reunion and there were multiple roaches running around the conference center area where we were having our banquet. Brought the roaches to the front desk and was told "oh those are just water bugs". "Water bugs" are roaches you idiot. I was lied to multiple times and told there was no manager on duty. I left my contact information and never received a call back from the manager Dawn to address my concern. Front desk is useless and they care nothing about cleanliness or customer service. Avoid at all costs!

Great location if you want a quieter beach experience. The staff is helpful and the views were amazing! My family enjoyed the suite and the hotel restaurant's breakfast.

my gf and I stayed in Va Beach a few weeks ago and would never stay again. the elevators were dirty, the hallways were dirty, paint chips on the floor from the ceiling, the room was dirty and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks, the glass door was extremely dirty and could barely see the beach through it, more paint chips on the floor that fell from the ceiling, floor was dirty. I will try to post photos. I would never stay again and recommend if you don't have to stay, don't. extremely disappointed.

This hotel is located on the beach by 57th Ave away from everything on the strip. If your looking for a quiet place to stay AWAY from everything this is it. The 1st building is where you check in at and the 2nd building is where the rooms, restaurant, and pool are located. There is a parking garage in front and in between the buildings there's another tiny parking lot. The hotel is pretty old and its pretty obvious by the outside. But the room was fine. We stayed on the pet floor which is floors 1-6. It was my friends dog and she was excited she could bring her pet. It did smell like a animal shelter as soon as i got off the elevator. The funk hit my nose immediately. The room didn't smell as bad but the hallway did. Within a few hours i got used to it. Theres a $25 fee for pets and a small deposit required. The rates were super low, $118 was a fantastic price with a beautiful view of the ocean. It was like having the beach all to ourselves. Unfortunately the weather was cold and windy so i didn't make it into the water... But the sound of the waves was awesome from our balcony. They have a restaurant and the indoor pool on the 1st floor. The Surf Club Ocean Grill restaurant is modern and clean. The waiter was nice, he was in a rush so my friend wasn't happy with that. But i understood that it was just him serving and it wasn't a problem for me. I got the $15 smash burger and omg that burger was one of the best i ever had. The bread was buttery and toasted. The meat was seasoned and the fries were hot and seasoned well. Mmmm. Sincerely awesome!! For dinner instead of paying $34 for salmon stuffed with crab i got ala carte' salmon with garlic mashed potatoes and crispy brussel sprouts, which was $24. It was so good. I really enjoyed their food. The menu is limited and a few items are over priced, but i enjoyed what i had... The restaurant staff was nice. The hotel staff don't really engage with the guest, so that was weird.. No hello's or anything from them. But all in all i enjoyed our stay. The prices are about to go up triple, so off season is the best price. I really like that it was quiet in that area. I'd prefer this over the boardwalk area. It was relaxing and nice. Plenty of parking and nice views. There were dirty windows and some things around the hotel that could be cleaner. So there were pros and cons. They are doing construction and painting so it may be more appealing to the eye during the summer. Check them out!! 3 stars for the hotel and 4 stars for the experience!!!

Great for a beach getaway, make sure to stay in the Tower Went down to VA Beach to celebrate a beach wedding for family and friends. We stayed at the Wyndham and it was my 1st experience with a Wyndham property. Pros: The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.  From the front desk team to the event planners everyone was great. They even found a room on the non-oceanview side for the officiant during a packed weekend when they didn't have a reservation. The view from the Oceanfront tower was amazing. I was on the 11th floor which was a perfect view. The small deck was big enough for the chairs provided and was a good perch to sit and listen to the waves and feel a breeze to avoid the heat.  The engineering and maintenance team was friendly and responsive.  I had a shower handle that didn't work. They were there within minutes after my calling the front desk and they fixed the issue quickly. Cons; Although the room was of a comfortable size, the bathroom was a little tight. If I opened the door completely,  it would bounce against the shower rod or you had to step past the door around the toilet in order to close it fully.  There is also a VAST difference between the tower side and the non-oceanfront side. The non-tower section feels like an older style beachfront motel. In the end I recommend the Wyndham as a place for a quick getaway or for a beachfront wedding.  I would stay there again. I just HIGHLY recommend you stay in the Oceanfront view tower.

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

The hotel is nice! That was not the issue. The hotel amenities were just small. The pool was super small and with the amount of kids there it was almost like a kids school function or daycare. Then the dogs....I love cute little doggies. But traveling with your animal to vacay is weird to me. It's also gross to smell dog when you get in your room or in the halls. There were so many doggies on vacation with their owners and they'd leave them in the room while they ventured. It was odd. Walking to our room we got barked at, then like a domino effect, the entire doggie day care hall was barking to each other. The view was great! Beds were eh, but I learned that Va Beach is not where you go for a real princess vacay getaway. The room rate was 500$ a night for an ocean view. Now, I have no problem spending that on a room but if you're going to spend that amount per night might as well go somewhere nicer, with better beaches (blue ones), and a real resort. The view is nice but for the price, no. Not after being all over the world this summer at places much nicer and just as expensive, his money could go elsewhere. This past weekend, Aug 14-17, we learned that room rate sky rocket for a last minute getaway and likely were just as high even if we booked earlier. Wouldn't do book last minute ever again and likely would never come back to Va Beach. Staff were friendly. Cute hotel just way too many kids and pets. Plus beds were okay but not the fluffy beds at other Marriott locations.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

Also the breakfast was awesome! We immediately gravitated to the diy waffles with vanilla and red velvet options, and lots of toppings like chocolate chips and chocolate syrup. But I was impressed by the healthy options too like oranges, bananas, apples and canned fruit. There were great warm options too like scrambled eggs with salsa and shredded cheese, sausage and diced potatoes. The only things to mention are: -Parking is $20 a night. -There is an indoor pool but not an outdoor pool. -Good luck surviving the restaurant on the first floor, with its daily temptation to order from the reasonably priced happy hour menu (orange crushes for $5!). :)

The housekeeping staff does a meticulous job cleaning each room after the guests leaves. Throughout our nearly 6 months stay, Jerome and Herbert in particular have really gone out of their way to keep our stay here feel like home. For example, when our A/C unit failed in the middle of murky summer, Jerome replaced the entire unit right away. I have also had trouble handling the incredible humidity I've not experienced since leaving Japan. But thank goodness for Jerome again --he ensured I had a really good dehumidifier that also helped muffle noises as well. I cannot emphasize enough on what a truly instrumental role he had played in keeping my whole family feel comfortable. I find that especially noteworthy because we were there for quite awhile. The Lodge location is steps away from the Dam Neck Naval Base Beach and the sunrise is beautiful. It also has a kitchenette that is fully functional to cook a good meal unless you need an oven. The fridge is big enough to put in whatever you need and the stove is easy to cleanup. The cabinets are stuffed with everything you'd find in a kitchen. Cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, wine openers, wine glass, dish rack, soap and sponge. You name it, they have it. And this is what really makes the stay better than being over at the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) if you are here for awhile-- especially if you are like me and prefer to cook your own meals, staying at the Lodge is a MUST. And if you have pets, the Lodge is also AN ABSOLUTE must. One of the great things about Navy Lodge Oceana is how pet friendly it is. Our two beagles loved the area and there are 3 receptacles on-site to keep doggie poo thrown out. Keep in mind that it is a high tick and flea area so ensuring they get brushed after a walk is a must! Well, not unless you like to shriek like me when I found two ticks on my laptop thanks to my dog ubering them inside. And just for the record, both dogs also take Nexgard and Heartgard monthly. Now the NGIS might work beautifully for those who are in the Dam Neck /Oceana area for short term stay, or ok with eating takeouts every day because you don't cook, and /or doesn't have pets. Or that they'd prefer the nicer furniture or less noise to deal with. I've stayed at both and NGIS is far easier to make reservations for leisure and their beds are very comfortable. In sum, I had a fantastic stay and I look forward to returning every chances I get. For $75/night, the rates are exceptional and the location is perfect. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it to everyone. -- Cons: Elevator--The building has no elevator. So if you have loads of luggages, you will need to take it to your room upstairs using the staircase. Reservation --Making reservation here can be pretty easy if you are staying because of TAD/TDA/PCS orders. For leisure traveling, you'd have better luck at the NGIS or other nearby civilian operated hotels. The leisure travel can be only made 7 days ahead of the stay. And chances are, you are 99% likely to be told they have nothing for vacancies, or they have something for just 1 day out of a 7 day trip or something very inconvenient. WiFi--The WiFi here can be spotty, nonexistent, or extremely slow. If there's someone playing video games in the evening, you can tell right away and you have a bad night ahead of you if you need the Internet. It'd be far less frustrating to get Internet connection elsewhere. Also, the cellphone data connection here is also rather lousy. So no, using data won't help with watching YouTube or something else. If you need to make a call, you'd also have better luck by going outside. You'll see bunches of other sailors or marines pacing and walking around sometimes for the same reason. Noise level--You can hear just about everything from your surroundings. Toilet flushing, heart stopping door slams, other dogs barking all day, people's conversations and/or TV sounds all hours of day, jets, gunshots from the swamp side, housekeepers cleaning , anything in the hallway, etc. Privacy Please sign on the door doesn't mean much either. So if your next door guest has his alarm go off at 0500 and well into 0800, nobody can or will do anything about it. Well, not unless Herbert is working in the morning. He was the only person who was willing to intervene after multiple other lobby staff refused to help. Try imagining the alarms making a loud incessant beeping the entire time behind your headboard at 0500 on a Sunday for 3+ hours while the other guest somehow sleep through it or not even be there over the weekend! My point is, if you are sensitive to noise stimuli, or dislike wearing ear plugs, I don't recommend staying here.
