They only have 3 slides besides the little kids park and from the 3 slides only 2 work most of the time.The big one is always getting repairs and there are no other slides. The food is way too expensive with chicken tenders costing $21 and when I went to buy ice cream it said it cost $7 but I got charged for $10 because of multiple taxes.They get lots of money and still can't get more rides. The park is located next to Silver Shores Elementary School. Silver Shores Park amenities include a basketball court, tennis court, football field, pavilions with picnic tables which can be reserved from the city, a shade covered playground, sand volleyball court, and restrooms. I personally enjoyed the exercise path that ran around the perimeter of the park. I was surprised to see how popular this small park is. While I was exercising I saw a festive birthday party in the pavilion, runners on the path, kids enjoying the playground, and a game on the volleyball court. This is a park that brings the community together for recreation. The well maintained and clean Silver Shores Park is ideal for sports, a family get together, or simply for a walk in the sunshine.

The other area was a small space they had somehow crammed a pool table, bar, domino table and several other tall tables into. All the tall tables had been taken so I sat with my daughter at the kids table situated in the center of the room. I was immediately told to get up because the chairs were made for kids. Not for nothing but I weigh a whopping 105 pounds. But whatever. I took my daughter into the play area and she wanted me to carry her so she could dunk a basket on the basketball game in the corner. I lost my balance and fell into it. Immediately, here comes crabby owner yelling "Get up, get up! You're gonna break it!" Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks for asking. I went into the other area for a while to eat and grab some candy and could hear this lady yelling at kids about climbing on stuff and running too fast. Seriously? At this point there was only about 40 minutes left of party time. My daughter wants to go into the bounce house. She got scared when the kids got rough and just sat there crying. Naturally, I went in after her. Guess who is on my ass two seconds later. I pull my kid out, grab our things and tell the lady to go screw herself and that she'll never see me or anyone I know ever again. My best friend who threw the party told her off also. Moral of the story, if you want your kids to have fun, stay far away from this place.

Bathroom and water fountain. Thank goodness for this Pavilion with picnic tables. I had my lunch and did a little writing there. Jungle gym with slides. The kids went bananas on these. There are two so the kids aren't piled on top of each other. Swings for kids and swings for babies are separate. Rock climbing wall is small and short enough for the kids not to get hurt if they do have a little tumble. Sensory or rotary toys Turf ground is amazing. We don't get dirty sitting on the ground or running around. Seesaw. I can't remember the last time I've seen one of those. So cool. Dinosaur teeter. One or two kids can ride on it. Mini library to borrow and donate books for the kids. Plenary of benches all around. So convenient because I was not looking forward to being all hinged over on the floor. Next to a bright line rail track. Scary but it's on the other side of the fence of course. No danger here. Parking right outside and free. You don't have one of those park and pay situations. Park is gated. Kidd can safely run around and you can relax as they play. Tip: bring chalk the pavilion Pilars are coated in chalkboard paint so you can draw all over. A little bucket and washcloths might be a good idea too to clean up the walls a bit and start your masterpiece.

Park amenities include a fitness trail, baseball…read morefield, playground, outdoor fitness equipment, tennis courts, softball field, soccer field, sand volleyball court, and a community center that holds camps and after school programs. The park offers adult program and supervised youth sports programs and the city often holds food truck events here. My favorite part of the park is the area in the back. Highland Oaks Park has one of the last remaining freshwater wetlands located at the headwaters of the Oleta River which is the only natural river remaining in the Miami-Dade County. The Oleta River had been designated designated a "Florida Outstanding Waterway." This area has the low salinity environment necessary for commercial and recreational fishing species like snook, mullet and tarpon to reproduce. This is the only freshwater tributary connection to the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve that does not have a flood control structure. This area is an important habitat to aquatic wildlife and native plants. Around the lake is an exercise path with fitness stations. I was surprised to see a large alligator swimming in the lake. I had a little talk with the ducks and warned them to stay away. Hopefully they took it to heart. The back area of this park is a really beautiful place to see all kinds of native wildlife. I thoroughly enjoyed my walk here today.
