These guys will rent you one! They've got a cool, modern trailer that has all the latest tech that'll get you to the top of the Tetons grandly. Their expertise is impressive. They sell maps to help you get around, and the staff is ready to answer questions about any of the merch. They've got a hiking shoe selection that's hard to beat, and lots of the coolest latest gadgets that'll help you get over the river and through the woods. There's a second story to this place, I don't think there's an elevator available. One of my favorite things about this store are the displays- in the window and on the sales floor, they have little camping scenes set up, where they're highlighting their gear or clothing. This is a great outfitters to get outfitted in before going on that grand journey through the Great Outdoors.

They have all the huckleberry jams, candies, wine, beer, etc. that you could ever ask for. They sell postcards, patches that depict the state of Montana. They also have rather healthful foods here- granola bars, pancake mixes. The other side of the shop is all musical instruments! They have everything from mandolins to guitars, bass, and even a trumpet! They sell guitar strings, amp wires, capos, anything you need for your musical needs. I think they even had the sheet music to Merle Haggard's "Big City" about getting dropped off in the middle of Montana. The clerk was pleasant, but minded her own business as I poked around and weighed the different huckleberry options. It seems that when things get cold in this town, a hot jam (whether musical or huckleberry) will always spice things up! Parking was a bit challenging, this place is located on the main strip of Red Lodge, so it's only street-side parallel parking. The shop was ADA accessible, but had some narrow aisles.

For the few days we were in the Jackson Hole area, we had been trying to find out more about the National Forests that surround Yellowstone and the Tetons. We were exasperated as park rangers, bookstore attendants, and visitor center staffers all failed to give us any decent information about them. Finally, we stumbled into Silvertip Mountain Center. I asked the guy (the owner, I think) for advice on where to hike with our dogs in the National Forests, and he excitedly showed me a few good trails on a map, describing others that were off the map, too. He was clearly an enthusiast of the area and an active hiker himself. With his tips, we had a great time exploring the great outdoors beyond National Park boundaries. On top of that, he ran a store that offered quality goods at prices that weren't obscenely gouged. Definitely recommend swinging by if you need anything outdoorsy and are in the Yellowstone area.

My wife booked a guided fly fishing trip with North Fork Anglers. We showed up first thing in the…read moremorning at the store to check in and get our licenses. While we were there our guide showed up and introduced himself. He asked if we had any previous experience and talked about various locations, their conditions and where he thought we could go fish. Since our casting is far from professional and current conditions of the rivers were high and fast, we opted for a lake. We came with rods, waders, boots, snacks, but I left my reels in my truck at the store! Thank god , Brad (our guide had back ups! He got us all set up and we set out, talking about the conditions and what to expect. ( like rattlesnakes) what your step! It was a very educational experience, and we all caught some nice trout! If your in Cody and like to fly fish go see Brad, he'll make a better fly fisherman/woman.

Well I had a rear flat tire and called and ask them if they could repair it or replace the tube…read more Once they knew it was an E bike I said we don't touch those things unless we sell them. So I stupidly took the rear tire off and the chain Put the new tube in and could not get the chain back on. It seemed like there was an extra loop I watched YouTube videos that showed you what to do and just couldn't get it. Called him up told him what was going on and they said bring it in. They had to break the chain to get it back on the bike and then charge me $40.
